Kadae sighed as he walked back towards his apartment. It had been a long day. He wanted Dylan to know he was here for him. That he wasn’t alone and had a lot of support. Still, he understood the edginess of the prince. His mate had been missing for a year and she had no memory of him. He had no idea what could have happened during that year.

Kadae looked down at the ground as he walked deep in thought. If this would have happened to Mia, he knew he would be a mess too. Mia was amazing. She was smart and strong. She was his everything and captured his heart completely. He would do anything for her and trusted her unconditionally.

Thinking of his mate made him smile as he opened the door to their apartment. This was the highlight of his day. The few calm moments he could take comfort in his love’s embrace. He walked into a dark apartment. His brows furrowed as he tried to make sense of the noise he was hearing. A man grunting and the frantic slapping sounds had his stomach in knots.

This didn’t make any sense. Mia wouldn’t… she wouldn’t. His legs moved on their own as he heard a woman screaming in ecstasy.

His entire body was shaking with a mixture of anger and disbelief. Every instinct in his body had him growling, and his muscles tensed, his lycan clawing to get out. Through the crack of the door, he could see the bare body of a man pounding his body into his mate below him. The entire bed rocked against the wall. As the woman moaned uncontrollably.

Kadae felt his heart clench with a sudden pain as he took in the scene in front of him. He could hardly breathe as he tried to process what he was seeing and make sense of it all. He felt like he had been punched in the gut, and his mind was spinning with a mix of emotions - he wanted to run away and pretend it never happened. If he left, he wouldn't have to face the reality of this ultimate betrayal. But he wanted to know why. Why would she do this to them? They were happy. At least he thought they were happy. He loved her so much. Damn... it hurt.

His muscles burned with the need to crash through the door and kill the man on top of his mate. He watched as the man pinned her wrists to the bed and thrusted violently into her. The woman was crying out in insane pleasure. She was begging for more and kissing the man with a hungry desperation. The sight was too much for Kadae to bear. His mate was being f****d by another man.

The one thing he had always known and loved about Mia, was her commitment to him. She was a loyal woman. She loved him completely. She would never cheat on him. This, right here, was a tragedy waiting to happen. His heart was breaking into a million pieces in his chest.

He couldn't take it anymore. With a ferocious snarl, he threw open the door and stormed in. Kadae's fist balled with anger as the startled man in front of him turned to look at him.

"Get off of her you bastard," Kadae's guttural growl shook the room.

"Who the hell are you? What is your problem? I'm not hurting her. Am I, my love?"

His LOVE?! Fvck this s**t.

"Mia how could yooouuuu...." Kadae trailed off as he looked at the woman below the man. His brows furrowed in confusion.

"I'm not Mia." The woman said as she held the blanket up to cover herself.

"What the hell are you doing in our room?!" The man snarled at Kadae, who began to look around. He was in so much shock that he didn't notice the different-looking room. The sheets were different. And finally, his brain was connecting that the scent was not the same either. In his blinding rage he didn't realize that he had walked into the wrong apartment. And now he mortifyingly realized he was watching another couple having s*x.

"Oh... shit..." Kadae said, turning around. "I'm so sorry. I thought... I thought this was my apartment. I thought you were... with my... I.... I..." Kadae looked down at the ground as he stammered and struggled for words.

"You thought you were walking in on your girlfriend getting fvcked by another guy?" The man said.

"I... shit." Kadae was so embarrassed he could die.

He turned around again and opened the door, desperately trying to escape the humiliation. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. I don't know what I was thinking. I thought I was walking in on my mate. I'm so sorry..." Kadae said again as he walked out of the room.

"Don't worry about it. Maybe you at least got some free pointers." The man's laugher reverberated like thunder behind him. "The next lesson isn't free though."

Kadae trudged through the room with a sense of dread seeping through his bones. At least the guy seemed to have a sense of humor over all of it. The second the door shut, Kadae felt all the air rush out of his lungs. The fury at the thought of another man touching Mia had his head spinning. He was barely functioning in that moment. It was a taste of a potential reality he never wanted to experience again.

"I'm such an i***t," he muttered in disgust with himself as he realized he was on the wrong floor. He was so deep in thought about Dylan, he didn't ever realize it. He suddenly felt an urgency to hold Mia in his arms. He needed to calm his beast. He needed to reassure himself that everything was okay.

He sprinted to the stairs. He couldn't wait for the elevator. With a leap, he jumped from platform to platform, crashing through the door and racing down the hall. He barged through his apartment door with frantic urgency.

The air seemed to stand still as his gaze locked with Mia's, her face registering surprise. His heart raced as he strode forward, enveloping her in his arms until her body was flush against his. His lips found hers in an urgent and passionate embrace that left them both breathless.

Mia wrapped her arms around his neck as his hands ran down her back. He pulled her impossibly closer. His fingers entangled in the silky strands of her hair, as his mouth devoured her like an addict needing a fix.

"Kadae? Is everything okay?" Mia said as she pulled away, looking up at him with concern. "Did something happen to Ava and Dylan?!" She asked, watching him shake his head.

"I thought... I thought... I thought... I thought I lost you." Kadae said, words pouring out of his mouth.

Mia looked at him with worry and confusion. "What are you talking about Kadae? What's going on?"

"It was awful... I walked into the wrong apartment. I thought it was ours... I walked in on a couple having s*x. A man was on top of the woman... pounding into her. I thought it was you." Kadae looked down at Mia. Her face began to turn red and then a fit of giggles escaped from her lips.

"You perv." She giggled. "You watched another couple having sex."

"I thought it was you..."

"Would I have been on the bottom?" Mia asked, quirking her brow up at him. "You have to earn top rights with me." She watched as a smile crept on Kadae's face. "Silly man...do you have that little faith in me?"

His arms tightened around her, holding her so close he could feel her heartbeat. "I was afraid... my fear of losing you is irrational. I love you. Don't ever leave me." He said with all the emotion he felt surging through him.

"I love you. I won't ever leave you. I promise."

They locked lips in a heated frenzy, desperate to be as close as possible. Their kiss deepened with unadulterated passion until Mia's moans reverberated in the air.

Kadae's desire to be inside her surged and the primal hunger for her body was consuming. His fingers trembled in anticipation as he moved them over her, ready to make her his again.

He pulled back to look at her. "I need you."

"Yes. I need you too." She said with a lusty gaze.

He snatched her hand and fiercely dragged her down the hallway, her feet barely scraping against the carpet. With an iron grip, he hauled her into the bedroom, throwing her onto the bed with a crash.

"Tonight... I'm on top." Kadae said and Mia giggled.

"You want to try out those new moves you learned?" She listened as he chuckled, discarding his clothes hastily.

"No, my love. Tonight, I will push your body to its limits. I am going to make your skin quiver and ache with pleasure. You'll need the bed to steady yourself against the force of my touch." With a quick flick of his wrist, he turned all the lights on in the room. "Eyes on me the whole time. I want you to see who is pleasuring you. I want my face engrained in your mind."

"As if I could ever forget," she said as she unfastened her dress, sliding it off her body. She watched as he greedily stared at her, and she smiled at him. "Shut up and get over here," Mia said with a playful growl.

"With pleasure," Kadae said as he jumped on the bed, yanking her body to the pillows. She giggled when he grabbed her wrists. She let out a low moan as he pinned them above her head.

"Mmm, what do you think you're going to do to me?" Mia asked with a mischievous grin on her face.

"I'm going to make you writhe in pleasure," he said as he lowered his face to hers. "I love you..." He whispered and plunged his tongue into her mouth.

That night, Kadae made good on his promise. Pleasing Mia and worshiping her body. Making a mental promise to himself to never take her for granted. He'd never felt complete before he met her. Now he never wanted to be apart from her.

"Kadae?" Mia sighed in contentment.

"Yes, beautiful?"

"What apartment number was it? I should really send them a thank you basket or something?" Mia giggled as Kadae growled, rolling back on top of her.

"Again?" She gasped as he smirked down at her.

"The night isn't over... I am making good on my promise."
