Chapter 3: Meet Emma

Authors note: Hello and Welcome. My pen name is Kacie. I hope you are enjoying the story so far. In this next chapter I'm gonna follow Emma. She is not the main character but I thought we could bring in her world. Seeing as Emma and Lilly are both only 14 right now. So Emma doesnt have her wolf yet. You will find out why she isnt living at the pack house right now. Also we are hopefully going to learn a little more about Lilly. Cant wait for that. Also I plan to update hopefully every Tuesday and Friday. I might sneak extra chapters in between those days when I can.

Emmas POV

The week went by rather quickly. I walked Lilly home every day because Mrs. Johnson didnt want to pick her up and Jenny was an ass about it. I didn't understand humans sometimes. In the pack we always took care of our young, wether or not they were biological or not. Walking into my house Friday after school I can smell my mom cooking. "That smells great momma" I say as I close the door. "Is dad home?" I ask as i try to sneak a taste of the chili she is making. "Hands out" she scolds as she hits my hand with a wooden spoon. "But it smells so good" I whine and she chuckles. "Your dad is in his study with your uncle Steven. Make sure you knock and wait to be let in" she comments as I dash down the hall. I was the only niece of my Uncle. My aunt, my dad's and uncle stevens sister, had three boys. Two are older then me and one is a few years younger. I walk up to the study and knock on the door. "You can come in princess" my dad says as i bound into the room. I give my uncle a giant hug before doing the same to my dad. "Uncle steven I have a question for you as Alpha" I ask and his smile drops slightly. "What is it hun?" He asks and I look him in the eye. "Can someone smell like a werewolf but not know they are one?" I ask and I watch his expression. "That isnt very common. Most of our kind know what we are unless they are pups. You know under 5 years old. They only why that could happen is if the person wasnt raised in a pack or by pack members" Steven says looking at me to continue. "Well there is a new girl and she smells like she might have a wolf but I dont know for sure. She is in foster care and is living with the Johnsons down the road" I say as my dad's face turns into a frown. "The Johnsons are not nice people. Mr. Johnson is kind of nice but he isn't someone to deal with" my dad says. "Why dont you go ask your mom if you can help in the kitchen. Your cousins and aunt Kenya are coming over soon." My dad adds and I smile. "I cant wait to see Aunt Kenya" I comment before darting out of the room. My aunt Kenya and uncle Steven are Alpha and Luna of the pack. They have five kids. Autumn, Jayden, Faith, Fred and baby Aubrey. Autumn and Jayden are twin and just turned 18. Faith is my age. Fred is 8 and baby Aubrey will turn two in a few months. I know that my uncle wished he had more boys but my mom says they keep popping out girls. I laughed at that. My parents had me and my younger brother Alec. Alec just turned 10 and would be home soon. I walk into the kitchen and my mom throws an apron at me. "You can help me make the cookies" she says winking as I chuckle. My mom's cookies are to die for. Soon my aunt and cousin arrive. I open the door and greet them just as my brother walks up the drive. "Hey squirt" I yell out causing his face to go beat red. He charges at me and I shut the door before running threw the house.

"No running in my house" my mom screams as I dart out thr back. Fred and Faith were already in the back when Alec came around the side. "Fred help me get her" Alec yells as I hid behind Faith. "I dont want to be in the middle of this" Faith says pushing me towarss the boys. "You have to help me. We are warriors" I say as Faith takes a second. She then tackles Alec and starts tickling him. I dont know how long my Uncle was standing their for but he clears his throat. We all stop and look at him. "Dinner" he says as we all nod at rush into the house. "Wash those hands and take a seat" my mom yells as we rush into the house. Dinner starts off good but then is followed by my dad and uncle arguing. My mom and aunt Kenya send them outside and soon we see two wolves figthing. Dad is the younger brother but he can take uncle steven when he wants too. But only at our house. We dont live with the pack because my dad and steven dont see eye to eye most of the time. They love each other and would never hurt each other to bad but my uncle cant have someone threating his position all the time. He claims that is what my dad does. "Why does Uncle James always get to fight with dad" I hear Jayden question his mom. "You know why Jayden. Its a friendly quarrel and your father told you that he would start training you this year. You and your sister" Aunt Kenya said before Jayden took off and shifted outside. His wolf was pretty cool. He was a dusty grey with a tan underbelly. His wolf had light amber colored eyes as well. Some girl was gonna be really lucky to have him as her mate.

Finally my dad and uncle came back inside. "So Emma you are coming to the pack house tomorrow so that we can train some. Sound good" Uncle Steven says as Aunt Kenya whispers something to him. "I'll go find him" Uncle Stephen whispers before walking back outside.

"It was great to see you all and look forward to see you at the packhouse on Sunday" Aunt Kenya said before gathering her remaining kids and heading out.

I helped clean up the table and then got ready for bed. I had a feeling tomorrow was going to be a busy day.

Lillys POV

I got into another fight with Mrs. Johnson. I debated about going back into the woods. I decided it was better then sitting around in my room doing nothing. I climbed down off the over hang and ran into the forest. This time I didnt see the wolf until I literally ran into it. My heart started racing as it turned to look at me. I figured I was dead but the wolf lowered its head some. I looked into its eyes still feeling fear. Once I stared for a second I felt like all my worries were going away. I figured it was only going to last a few moments and I better got out of there. I took off running towards the house leaving the large wolf behind me. I got to the wood line and turned to see yet another wolf only slightly larger. "Sorry" I mouthed mostly to myself before running back into the house. Part of me was upset that I might have gotten the wolf in trouble. But part of me thought it was cool to be so close to a wolf. I had never realised that they got as big as this wolf was.

Emmas POV

The next morning was rough. I had to be at the pack house by 5am. I was not happy my mom had to poor water on me to get me up. Then my dad refused to take me saying if I didnt want to get up then I could run. Mind you I cant even talk to my wolf yet let alone shift. This was a four mile run and I had less than ten mintues to get there. I knew that was going to mean I would have to so more laps for being late. Every Saturday was training and it always started at 5am. You would think I would have been use to it by now but I wasnt. I arrived around four minutes late and my uncle came over to me. "Your late Emma" he said in his alpha voice. "Sorry unc...I mean Alpha" I say bowing my head and panting rather hard. "Ok seeing as you ran four miles I will only make you run two laps before we start." He said giving me a small smile. "Jayden" he yelled as my cousin ran over. "Chase her in wolf form. Emma run" he said as my eyes almost popped out of my head. There was no way I could beat him in wolf form. I started running as fast as I could still being rather winded. My sides started to burn badly the harder I ran. With in two jumps Jayden tackled me to the ground. I let out a screech as I fell before getting back up and taking off again. Jayden gave me a head start before tackling me again. In total I fell about six time before my first lap was up. "Jayden just chase her" Alpha Steven yelled after he knocked me down for the eighth time. By the time I was done I was so sore I felt like I wasnt going to be able to walk. " alright now we start training. Emma you are sparing with Autumn. Jayden you are with Justin." Alpha said as he kept nameing all the names of wolves in attendance. There were probably about twenty of us. "Alright lets start with your punches" Autumn said motioning for me to punch her. I swung at her a few times and she dodged. She then threw one at me and it connected to my shoulder. It hurt but I knew she was holding her punches back. "Dodge I swing you duck. You got this" Autumn said as we continued with the training. Before I knew it, it was already noon which meant training was done. Autumn picked me off the ground after she had swept my feet. "You are doing really good. Keep it up and you will be better then me soon" she said patting my shoulder. I give her a smile as we walk inside to shower. Were we trained was outside but we had a locker room building to shower. No one was ever really shy because most of them saw each other naked a least a few times during the day. I was still a little shy at time because I didnt shift yet. Two more years then I would get to take the advanced training where you train in wolf form as well. I loved watching them train because it almost looked like they would be killing each other. After I was done showering I walked into the pack house. Several omegas already had lunch set up for us. We had to wait until Alpha joined us before we could eat. Everyone but alpha was at the table when I heard my stomach growl just a little. I blushed as Autumn chuckled. "You are definitely hungry Emma" Autumn said causing everyone,including me, to start laughing. Alpha walked up and we all kept chuckling a little. "What talking about your alpha behind his back. Should I leave?" He said with a small chuckle. "No we are laughing because my stomach decided to talk" I say with a chuckle causing several others to start laughing again. "It went Roarrrrr" Jayden said causing a few of the younger kids to almost fall out of their chairs. Alpha Steven was now holding his sides while laughing. " Ok well lets eat" he said taking the first sandwich. We all then started grabbing food and eating. Everyone around the table minus the alpha was eighteen and under. The youngest in this ground was twelve. They had another ground of kids that were under twelve but they only trained for about an hour from noon to one. After lunch was free time. We liked to play capture the flag. It was almost always boys against girls. We had roughly an even number and only a few of us wouldnt play from time to time. As I was walking out I heard Jayden talking to one of his friends. "Ya I'm pretty sure I might have found my mate. The only time is she is a few years younger than me. I dont think she knew we were mates" he say as his buddy chuckled. "My parents found each other whrn my dad was 18 and my mom was twelve. He had to wait until she hit 18 to mark her. You got this man. As long as she wasnt four you should be good" his buddy said laughing. I smiled knowing that Alpha Steven would be happy to hear this. I waited for a few seconds before coming around the corner. "Capture the flag in ten mins" I say as I walk outside. Soon we had a game of caputure the flag going. I was co captain today. We had a split of boys and girls on the teams. We decided to play ages so young kids vs young teen or young adults. Pretty much under 14 was on one team and over 14 was on another. I decied to go with the older kids. I was protecting the flag when one of the younger boys tried to tackle and while I was dealing with him a girl grabbed our flag. "They got the flag" I yell as the girl runs as fast as her legs will carry her. I chuckle as a few jump towards her but she dodges them. She finally gets over the line and they win. "Good game" I say chuckling. Saturdays were always so much fun. It was filled with hanging with the pack. I just hoped that my friend from school was having a good Saturday.
