Chapter 2: School

Lillys POV

Waking up on an empty stomach wasnt fun. The sun wasnt up yet but I wanted to get up before it. I walk over and turn the knob on my door. It was unlocked so I walked to the bathroom. I used it quickly and then walked back into my room. Since it was gonna be my first day I looked at the few outfits that I owned. I figured I would wear my black hoodie, blue jeans and my wolf shirt. I couldn't wait until I was eighteen so I could finally get my tattoo. I had always been drawn to wolves and I knew a bunch about them. How they had an alpha beta and omega. How they took turns watching pups and how cute those pups were. "Lilly breakfast" mr. Johnson yelled pulling me out of my trace. Pulling my clothes on I grab my now empty bag for school. I walk towards the door and then remember to grab my notebooks. I then walk down to the kitchen. The smell of bacon and eggs hits my nose and my stomach growls.

"I worked late last night so I didnt know that my wife didnt feed you. I'm so sorry Lilly. But please don't touch her chocolates" Mr Johnson said as he put a plate down for me.

"Dad why does she get so much" Jenny complained as she walked into the kitchen. "Jennifer you eat dinner Lilly didn't you will live now get a plate so you can eat" Mr. Johnson said as he sat down to eat next to me. " thank you" I say softly and he gives me a smile. "Better hurry up so I can drive your girls to school. Lilly you will go up to the office. I believe a Ms.Henry is suppose to meet you" mr. Johnson said as I finished eating. I took my plate and rised it off in the sink. Soon we were in the car and driving up to the school. As we pulled up Mr. Johnson wishes us a good day. I followed Jenny up to the entrance where she stopped and turned to me. "I dont know you and you dont know me. I don't want my friends to know that you live at my house." Jenny says sharply before walking into the school. "A little harsh" I murmer as I open the doors and walk in. I could see several age groups in the school. I look around and find the office. I walk inside and walk up to the desk. "Hi I'm Lilly Hope. I was told I needed to come here" I say to the older lady at the desk. "Yes dear we have your schedule. We are a smaller school so you will only have five teachers. One for each subject. Math, science, english, social studies and elective" she said handing me a peice of paper. "Sadly the only elective that had an opening was PE" she said giving me a smile. "Thank you. Good thing I like PE" I say with a chuckle. To be honest I wasnt a huge fan of it but it wad better than choir that I had to take at my last school. "Here is a map and Emma will show you to your first class." The older women said as a girl with red hair and a bunch of freckles came around the corner.

"Hi I'm Emma Sharp we have most of our classes together. Only two of each teacher for each grade." She said smiling. "So like one teacher teaches two subjects or two teachers teach math for 8th grade" I ask as Emma giggles. "Two teach math and so on. They break it up into two groups. You are either on group A or group B some students will over lap with both. You and I are on group B. " Emma says as she shows me to out first class. "You can sit next to me. No assigned seats here" she comments as she sits down in the front near the teachers desk. I sit next to her and look at the classes. English was first then math followed by PE then social studies and I ended the day at science. "So where does lunch fall?" I ask realising I had no more or a lunch for today. "Just after PE before social studies. They dont want us to puke up our lunch in gym" she says smiling. She greeted several kids as they walked in. I looked over at the door and saw Jenny come in. "Jenny" Emma called out waving at her. "Did you meet Lilly" she says smiling at Jenny. "No I havent. Hi Lilly I'm Jenny Johnson" Jenny says holding her hand out for me to shake it. "Nice to meet you" I say forcing a smile. Jenny went and sat down behind me as we started class. English seemed to drag on forever then when the bell rang I went to stand up to leave. "Just the classroom next to this one for our next class" Emma said as she walked out of the class and down the hall. I nodded as I looked at the schedule and made sure i went into the right classroom. Walking in the teacher greeted me and said I could sit right in front. Soon the class was starting. The teacher smiled "well students we have a new student Lilly Hope. Lilly would you mind telling us a little bit about yourself" she asked and I swallowed. "I don't really want to but i guess I will." I say as I stand up. "Hi I'm Lilly Hope. I moved here from Florida. I love wolves and my favorite color is yellow" I say before sitting back down. "Well Lilly that was a rather large move. Hope you like the winter. We are much colder than Florida" the teacher said with a small chuckle. I smiled and nodded but didnt say much. Before I knew it lunch had arrived. I follow most of the students into the cafeteria. I sit down at a table and wait for a few before going to one of the line. I walked up to the lady checking people out. "I'm new and my step mom forgot to give me money. I'm not sure if they have an account for me or not would you mind checking" I ask and she nods. "What's your name dear" she asks. "Lilly Hope" I say and she types in the computer. "Well according to this you have free lunches. So go ahead and grab a few things and I'll check you out" she says smiling. "Thank you" I say feeling relief wash over me. I grab a chocolate milk a slice of pizza and some corn. I walk over and the lady scans a code and smiles. "Have a good lunch dear" she says as i walk into the lunch room. I see Emma and Jenny sitting with a few other kids. I walk past them and hear Jenny say "Ya I heard that Lilly is a foster kid." My world stopped turning for a second as i kept walking to the other empty table. There goes my chance to become friends with anyone. I think to myself as I start to eat. "Can I sit with you?" A female voice says and I look up. "Sure" I say softly as Emma sits down at the table with me. "I'm sorry Jenny said that. I'm pretty sure she waited until you were right next to us before she said it" Emma said softly. "I dont know how she would have known that" .

"Because I'm staying with her family. She doesnt want any one to know that though" I say softly while I finish eating. "That explains why you looked like you knew her" Emma said just as softly. "Dont mind her. She can be a jerk"Emma commented before getting up to toss her lunch out. After lunch was social studies which went by quickly. Today was a test day for them and I asked if I could take it as well. I knew most of the questions but not all of them. The teacher told me it wouldn't count towards my grade unless I passed it. Then he would ask me if I wanted to put it down or not. As I walked into science class the smell of fermeldahide hit my nose. I started coughing for a minute before I adjusted to the smell best I could. "Alright students today we are discecting frogs. If you turn to page 156 it will show you how to make the cuts and pin back the skin. Remeber safety glasses and gloves first. I also have aprons if you wish to use them" the teacher said. She walked over to me. " Lilly its nice to meet you. I'm going to pair you with Jordan and Jennifer." She said walking me over to Jenny and her lab partner. Jordan seemed nice until I came back from getting my gloves and glasses. He didnt talk to me the rest of the class. Soon it was time to leave and Jenny looked at me. "My mom is picking me up. You can walk home. Or at least for a block so no one sees her picking you up. " she said shortly and quietly. Emma walked up and smiled at me. "What did she have to say." She asks as she stops by her locker. She looks at my sheet. "Your locker is right here. I'm sorry I forgot to show you earlier" she says pointing to a locker across the hall from her. I could tell Emma was really nice and sweet compaired to my roommate who was slowly showing her colors.

Emmas POV

At lunch Jenny told us all that the new girl, Lilly, was in foster care. I could tell that she waited until Lilly was walking by. I felt bad for her. "Jenny your a jerk. Why did you wait until she walked past" I asked Jenny who just pushed off the question and started talking to Jordan. I stood up and walkes over to Lillys table. "Can I sit with you?" I ask and Lilly says sure. I cant help but notice that she is trying to be brave. "I'm sorry Jenny said that. I'm pretty sure she waited until you were right next to us before she said it" I say softly. "I dont know how she would have known that".

"Because I'm staying with her family. She doesnt want any one to know that though" Lilly says softly while she finishs eating. "That explains why you looked like you knew her" I say just as softly as Lilly. I couldnt believe Jenny. "Dont mind her. She can be a jerk"I commented before getting up to toss my lunch out. I wished I could have sat next to Lilly in all the classes but sadly we didnt have the same teachers. At the end of the day I walk towards my locker and see Jenny talking to Lilly. Lillys look pretty much said it all. "What did she have to say." I ask as I stop by my locker. I glance over at Lilly schedule and feel horrible. "Your locker is right here. I'm sorry I forgot to show you earlier" I says pointing to a locker across the hall from mine. I put my stuff up and waited for Lilly. "She doesnt want me to get in the car with her and wants me to walk home" Lilly says all of a sudden. My blood starts to boil at this. "Well my house is on the way to Jennys so I can walk you home" I say and Lilly gets a big grin. I knew how Mrs. Johnson was too. She was just as much of a jerk as Jenny was. The apple really didnt fall far from the tree there. We start walking and get almost to my house when we here a distant howl. I look at Lilly who's face lights up. "Do you here wolves around here often?" She asks me. I nod in fact very often. I knew that howl very well. It was my alphas howl. I could tell that Lilly was special like me but didnt know she was. Maybe I would have to bring it to the attention of Alpha Steven. After all he was my uncle.
