I retraced my steps, scanning every room as we passed, and made my way through the upper levels. I listened intently for any hint of noise and continued to switch through the various filters of my helmet to detect any semblance of an enemy or allied presence, but the facility was as sealed up as we had left it. Confident there was no one else inside the compound, I led my guests to the roof and studied the horizon but found no sign of movement. I tried to send an uplink request and a distress signal, but both were blocked by the ongoing signal jamming.
