Daphne’s POV “You can’t be f*****g serious, Daphne. This man is the son of the people who killed your parents,” Reynold says, disbelief thick in his voice. I manage a faint smile, more out of exhaustion than anything else. “Reynold, you should go,” I say, my tone calm but firm. “This is a family matter. It doesn’t concern you.” His eyes blaze. “What the f**k, Daphne? How do you think your parents would feel, knowing you’re choosing to stay with him?” “I said leave,” Miles cuts in, irritation sharp in his voice. “And you,” he adds, glaring at the guards sprawled on the ground, “you’re all useless.” The guards groan as they scramble back to their feet. “You’ll regret this, Daphne,” Reynold snaps, his voice trembling with rage. “You’ll live with the guilt of harboring a murderer’s son.”
