Miles’s pov I lit the candles at each of their graves, carefully placing the flowers on top, my fingers lingering on the petals as I gazed at their names etched in stone. The weight of the moment pressed on my chest. “Today’s Christmas, Mom, Dad. I brought food,” I murmured, holding up the takeout bag as if they could see it. I sat down on the cool ground, my back against the gravestone. “I’m eating my favorite food today,” I added, a faint smile tugging at my lips. The pasta tasted good, but the heaviness in my heart made it hard to swallow.
