“Reynold, you misunderstood me. Of course, I want this marriage to be over eventually, but not at the cost of Grandfather’s health. Miles isn’t thinking about that right now because I’m injured, but what will happen when Grandfather finds out about this? I’m worried.” My voice was laced with concern, and I hoped Reynold would understand.
“Daphne is right, Miles. You said this marriage would last for one year, so there’s no need to end it prematurely,” Reynold said in a calm tone. Thank goodness—he understood.
