It’s been three weeks since my incident happened.
Things have been a little calm for us, and I’m glad about that… but something’s been bothering me deeply. It’s Miles.
He’s distant—more than usual—and I don’t understand why.
Every time I try to ask what’s wrong, he brushes me off with the same excuse: work.
I’ve tried to be patient. I know things haven’t been easy for him.
But after everything… after I got all of my parents’ property back from my aunt and her family—something that happened way faster than I expected—it feels like he’s pulling away from me.
And I just want my husband back.
I don’t like what’s happening between us.
I walked straight to his office in the house.
I knocked. No answer.
Maybe he wasn’t in, but something urged me to check anyway.
