Miles’s POV I drove to the hospital as fast as I could, pushing the speed limit, my hands gripping the wheel so tightly my knuckles turned white. My heart pounded against my ribs, a frantic, uneven rhythm. Daphne’s voice echoed in my head—Your grandfather is in the hospital. That alone was enough to send me flying down the road, but the terror clawing at my chest made me press the gas harder.
