I jumped out of bed and made my way over to the writing on the floor. Is this but a mere coincidence that it's exactly where the grave had been? I wondered rhetorically as I sunk down to its level, to get a better view. My breath caught up in my throat. As I took my stand, Max asked me in a rather surprising tone, "You speak Latin?" "I had never spoken their tongue before," I assured him as I shook my head.
