Chapter 3 Corwin POV Sweat falls from the tip of my nose.  I take a towel wiping my face and arms. This mornings’ workout was a little extra.  As I am finishing up Alpha mindlinks me to meet him in his office.  I grab my water bottle and head towards his office.  I am still in my sweats and muscle tank.  I really shouts bathe, but when Alpha calls, you answer.   I knock on the door.  “Come in.” I enter the room looking at my father who looks like he has not slept in days.  “Corwin, I need you to travel to our relatives at the Crescent Moon pack for training.” I look at my father with confusion. “Alpha, I train here daily.  What can Crescent Moon offer that you and our warriors cannot?” “Corwin!” He scolds me for questioning him.  “We have plenty of strong warriors and fighters here but we need to work to be elite.  With the continued  unrest from the Harvest Moon Pack we need to be prepared.  I need you to do this for the pack.  We need to be sure our pack will be protected.” “You feel sending me away while we are in the midst of unrest is the solution Father?” I question him again.   He glares at me frustrated at my response.  “Yes, Beta John and your soon to be Beta and Gamma will be here.  You will take two Delta Warriors of your choice with you.  Decide quickly, the plane leaves soon.” He knows I do not actually have to agree with him, that is why he ends the conversation with statements.  This way it understood that whatever “it was” it was never a request.  Simply a direct order disguised as a conversation. I mindlink my chosen Delta warriors to meet me in 10 minutes at the pack house ready to go.  I head up to my room to wash and pack.  Stripping down I turn the water on and wait for it to warm up to temperature.  I cannot believe it took them five days to fix the hot water heater.  I swear that it was the Harvest Moon messing with us again.  I know they did not break the water heater as we would have smelled them in our territory, but that doesn’t mean they cannot make it difficult for us to get services fixed when we need parts from the outside world.  They are sneaky like that, always taking the littlest things and working it towards their advantage.  Our feud with them goes back generations.  No one remembers all the details as the telephone game goes, but the one thing that remains the same is that it was about a shewolf.   I turn off the water and step out.  Wrapping a towel around my waist, I grab my bag out of the closet.  When I hear a knock on the door.  I open up the door to find Rebecca standing there smiling at me with eyes that look as if they want to have me for lunch. “Can I help you?” I inquire. “Hey Corwee!  Need any help with that towel?” She attempts to ask with a sexy voice, but really how can the word Corwee sound sexy. “Rebecca, I am a little busy right now.  I have to pack.” She tugs at my towel, “Awe, come on Corwee.  I leave for campus today.  Aren’t you going to miss me?” I shake my head.  Rebecca has always been a flirt, trying to get into my pants since I turned sixteen.” “Rebecca, as I said, I am real busy right now.  I have to pack for the airport.” “Corwee are you leaving me?” She says with an attempt at a cute sad pouty face. “Rebecca, I really have to get dressed.” I say as I push her back out the door of my room.  She pouts as I close the door.  Ugghhh, looking down at my towel that has risen. Now I am going to be late.  I walk into the bathroom and turn on the cold water.  I hate cold water but it works like a charm.  With all things back in order.  I rush to pack a bag and get downstairs to meet the deltas for the airport. As we drive to the airport.  I look to my deltas and inform them, “We have to travel to our distant relative’s pack for training.”  Their brows perk.  “As you know we have had increased unrest with the neighboring pack and my Father wants you, along with me, to be trained further in human and wolf form,” sighing aloud.  “He wants to ensure that I will be the strongest of Alphas by the time he is ready to hand over his rule.” They both nod unsure what to sayI am guessing.  I continue to tell them, “The Crescent Moon Pack is run by our relative’s.  Their warriors have trained all over the world in the most intense conditions to ensure they have the fiercest of the pack world.”  They both nod processing the new information.  One thing for sure, our warriors are always packed ready to go and ask very few questions along the way. These two particular Deltas are the most dedicated wolves I know.  It is one of the reasons I chose them for this assignment. We arrived at the airport with barely any time to get through security, thanks to the Rebecca incident.  Fortunately we made it to our gate just in time.  Our plane’s gate should be about to close but as we arrive we find our would be flight companions still sitting in their seats. The looks on their faces saying we will not be boarding anytime soon.  The sign above their heads says ‘flight delayed.’  When we finally are called to board our plane an hour and 30 minutes past our original flight time I feel anxious.  I am never anxious. This is a completely odd feeling to me.  I wait in line for all the special circumstances individuals to board the plane before my first class ticket boarding is called.  Thank goodness I was not sure how I would have been able to maintain my composure. Something is just off with me. I walk half way down the tunnel to the plane when I smelled something. The most wonderous beautiful smell I had ever smelled in the whole world.  My wolf cried “MINE!”  I rush ahead to see where this delicious scent is coming from.  I was booming with excitement at finding my mate as my wolf sang with glee in my head.  “Shh!” I tell him as I am trying to focus.  I casually checked all the staff and anyone else I see on the plane.  I made my way to the back of the plane.  Nothing!  NO ONE!!!  “Excuse me sir, it is time to take your seat,” the flight attendant motioned.  As I walked back to the first class seating I am at a loss. The smell was faint at the back of the plane and stronger in the first class area.  This could only mean one thing; our mate had landed on this plane or worked the plane hours before we boarded.  I messaged my father’s Beta John to get me the list of all the passengers on this plane in the last 24 hours, especially the first class seating.  Before he could respond the attendant asked us to put our electronics in airplane safe mode for take off.  My wolf whined in sadness.
