“Welcome home, Diana. This is the start of our life being an independent woman,” I said when I stepped inside the house I bought for myself. I decided to live on my own since I’m at the right age and I have to stand on my own feet because I’m getting older and I don’t need to depend on my parents since they have done enough for me. I need to learn how to live without them because the time will come when I’m going to have my own family. And also, I’m gonna be a parent when I find the right man for me. We’re going to build a happy family in this house. “Hmm, what furniture do I have to buy for my house?” I mumbled while looking around. My house is empty because I just moved here and I don’t have house things so I need to buy some to fill my house and it makes it look presentable. But first of all, I need to get a license so in that case I can get a job and have permanent income to sustain myself and my daily expenses! I need to have a stable life before meeting the right man that I will marry someday. Yes, that’s right, Diana! Fighting! ***** My hands are cold and my knees are trembling while looking at the screen of my laptop. I’m very nervous because today the result for the board exam that I took a month ago is about to come out! And I’m scared that my name is not on the list of passers. “Can you calm down? I know you passed that exam, you’re smart Diana. And also, you worked hard for this so trust yourself,” my friend Maxine tried to calm me down but I can’t! I’m too nervous. This is the only chance that I have to get a stable job and also, this is my dream. To get a license and to be called a professional teacher. “I can’t, Maxine. I’m so nervous,” I said. I can’t help it because I worked hard for this. I can't imagine that I will fail this exam. Maxine sighed and sat beside me. “Girl, you need to be strong. You need to be ready for the result of the exam. If you’re meant to pass the exam, you’re going to pass but if the destiny is elusive to you, we can’t do anything but to accept it.” I feel sad after hearing those words from Maxine but she’s right, we can’t change the truth. I’m going to accept the result of this exam no matter what. I took a deep breath. We waited together and when the result came out, my heart almost jumped out when we saw my name on the list of the passers. “Oh my God! You passed, Diana! You see? I told you, you can do it!” Maxine hugged me tightly while jumping because of happiness. “Congratulations, Diana! I’m very proud of you!” “Am I passed?” I asked. My whole body is shaking. I can’t believe that my name is on the list. “I’m a licensed teacher, Maxine…” I mumbled because of the shock. “I passed the board exam and I’m finally a licensed teacher!” My tears come out of my eyes because of the happiness. I can’t believe this is happening. “I’m very proud of you, Diana! I knew it, I know you can do it!” Maxine hugged me and kissed me on the cheek. “Thank you for your trust, Maxine. I’m very happy right now!” I cried. I even hugged her back because I don’t know what Am I going to do because of mixed emotions. “Hush, don’t cry, Diana. We should be happy because of this good news— oh, I know what we’re going to do!” I saw sparkles in Maxine’s eyes. I don’t like the sparkles in Maxine’s eyes. I feel like she’s planning something naughty. “We’re going to celebrate your triumph!” And I know, Maxine will not break her words. That’s the reason why we’re here in a famous resort to celebrate my big achievement. “Girl! I’m very happy for you!” she hissed while dancing beside me. We’re here in the bar and dancing like a wild animal. I know that we are both drunk but we’re too happy to notice that and we’re free tonight. We’re free to do all the things that we want to do. “Thank you so much, Max! I’m so happy that I passed the exam and you’re by my side when I’m fighting for this victory! Thank you for being there every time when I feel that I can’t do it. Thank you for reminding me that it’s okay to get tired but giving up is not a choice in this journey.” I hugged my best friend and cried again because of so much happiness. I still can’t believe that I’m finally a licensed teacher and I will not be able to get here because of this girl. The girl who always cheers me up when I feel so down and the world is so unfair to me. Maxine is here when I’m reviewing for my exams and she knew how I struggled while studying. She saw how I cried every night because I thought I couldn't do it. She always tells me that everything will be alright and I need to trust myself because all the things that happened to me while pursuing my dreams are just a part of the process. “If it isn't because of you, maybe I gave up already for a long time.” “Hush, Diana, don’t cry! I’m going to cry too!” she said. We look like crazy in the middle of the dance floor because we’re crying to each other and keep telling sweet messages to each one of us. But we don’t care. The important thing is we are both happy and we want to be more happy tonight! I run immediately to the side when I feel my stomach is being excavated. “I will not drink again, never, ever!” I hissed when I threw up. I feel dizzy. My sight is spinning and it feels like I will pass out soon. “Max, help me,” I called my friend but when I looked at the place where I left her, she’s not there anymore. “Dang, she left me. Great. I will not listen to you again, Max. I will.” I start walking to get to our hotel room even though my vision is spinning, I need to get to our room so that I can rest and stop this dizziness that I feel right now. “My head hurts…” I mumbled while guiding to the wall to get in the elevator. “I will not drink again. This is a curse! Argh!” I’m thankful because I was able to get to the elevator and make it to the floor where our hotel room is located. “Finally… I will not forgive you for leaving me there, Max.” I pouted and continued walking. I close my eyes because I’m so sleepy and I want to lay my body on the bed and sleep soundly. “What is our hotel room again…?” I whisper. I tried my best to look at every hotel number that I passed by to find our own room. If I’m not mistaken, it should be number… “234!” I said happily. I clapped my hands because of gratitude. I immediately turned the door knob and entered our room. The room is dark. No light is on. “Maxine, how dare you leave there? Hmp! You’re so stubborn, I told you, I can’t drink too much but you forced me to reach my limit!” I remove my shirt because my body is heating up and I know that is because of the alcohol we drank earlier. “And also, why is it so dark? Did you not pay the electricity bill?” I walk towards in my bed and jump on it to lay. “Finally…” I closer my eyes and took a deep breathe but because of what I did, I smell something. I sniff again to verified if I’m not smelling wrong and for the second time, I smell a man scent. “Why I smell a man scent? Max, did you spray a man perfume?” I asked in the darkness but I didn’t get any answer from my friend. “You little wicked.” “Hmm, who?” I froze when I hear a man’s voice beside me. “Huh?” I asked dumbpounded. Even though my vision are spinning, I force myself to open my eyes and look at the person in my side. A hazel brown eyes greeted me. It looking at me like it digging my personality. The way the eyes look at me… it so deep that I can’t even resist on looking to it. I can’t take off my eyes from him. ‘Why someone else is lying down on my bed?’ “Don’t shout, I hate noisy people.” His voice is almost husky and I smell alcohol in his breath. Even his voice is handsome like his face. “W-What are…” He close his eyes. “You entered the wrong room. So, don’t shout and leave or if you can’t leave, just sleep and leave when you can walk again,” he commander. “What? I-I mean… How?” I asked. My lips trembling because I don’t know what’s happening. I don’t know if it is true or it just because of the alcohol we drank. I even imagine that a man— not just a man but a handsome man—is lying on the same bed where I am lying. I stared at him. Analyzing his beautiful face. He has this hazel brown eyes that if you look at it, you will be hypnotized. His pointed nose… A perfect jaw line… Thick eyebrows… and the last one is his wet lips. “I wonder… If it is taste good?” I asked unconciously. “What is it?” the man in front of me spoke again. “Your lips… I wonder how good it is aginst mine?” “Do you want to taste it?” he asked me seductively. I swallow hard. “If… If it is okay… Can I?” I feel his warm hand laid on my face. “Yes, you can but you’re drunk. I don’t wanna convict because of a sin.” The man laughed. I pouted. “Eh, why? Don’t tell me you already have a wife?” The man laughed even more. “I don’t, I just can’t do ‘that’ thing because you’re drunk. You’re not in your right mind. If you will remember this tomorrow, after you wake up, I will give you what you want.” I raise my hand and put it to his waist. “You’re so gentlemen, Mr. Handsome.” I close my eyes because I’m so sleepy but I feel something strange. My body is heating up. And I feel my pearl is sweating. I opened my eyes again and looked straight into his eyes. “I want something but I can’t identify what it is.” I swallowed again and looked down to his lips. “My body is hot. I want to touch myself but I feel like I will not be satisfied if I do it by myself.” I lift my hand and touch his face. “I feel like I need you.” “Please… stop that, Miss… I can’t control myself because I have alcohol in my body too.” His breathing deepened, like his losing in control. I think I’m not in my mind because I close my eyes and brought my face closee to his face and kiss his lips. I feel his lips against mine and it so soft to the point that my whole body feel so warm because of that. It’s just a peck of kiss. I held his face and looked again into his eyes and after that, he is the one who kissing me. The movement of his lips are so softly but later on, I feer it become roughly while his hands are travelling in every part of my body. “I told you, I can’t control myself. You need to take a responsibility because of this, Miss Drunkard.”
