Her highness was finally dressed up but she wasn't ready to go and face the queen. Much to her happiness the king was to return today from his year long charity trip. However he was powerless against the Queen as his love for her blinded him from everything else.
Pushing the negative thoughts aside and hesitating for a while the princess left her room, her soft pumps soothing her feet every step of the way.
Stopping outside the room she sighed, unknown to her everyone seated in the room awaited her presence. She saw the guard smile at her greeting her with a small tip of his hat to the right, greeting back she mustered up the courage and opened the door.
Almost immediately she was greeted with the sight of the ginormous discussion room - as she liked to call it- with a nod to her mother she faced her father not knowing if he was in king mode or father mode.
She was greeted by a small hug and as the king pulled back she smiled at him before turning her eyes to all of those staring at her from the table. There were 19 other people in the room besides her.
12 princes 4 parents 3 sisters.
"Good morning, Your highnesses."
The princess spoke up breaking the silent atmosphere of the room.
"Good morning to you too."
Replied Queen Rebecca . As unfair as it may sound the future crowns of the kingdom Weren't allowed to speak up before Any of the elders present in the room, but seeing as princess Amelia liked breaking the rules she had no problem commenting on the weather and being the first one to start a conversation.
She settled herself amidst her sisters and let a sigh slip. She was a little agitated seeing as there were so many people present just for deciding her future.
"Now then ... let us discuss the problem at hand."
Amelia's mother stated, to which queen Rebecca agreed.
"You all have been causing quite a lot of problems."
Even an i***t would have seen the mental eye roll the royalties in question had done.
"As heirs your foolish actions cannot be ignored."
The princess refrained herself from groaning and kept a blank face as the princes mother Queen Rebecca spoke up.
"Young Princess, your mother has told me that you have quite a love for danger, am I correct?"
Her attention and sharp gaze was transferred to the princess who didn't act any less bored or any more different than she had been acting before.
"Yes."
Her small answer was all it should have taken to end her turn to be questioned but the queen had other plans.
"You do realize that you risk your kingdoms future every time you follow your desire?"
"Yes your highness and with all due respect I consider myself old and mature enough to judge a situation and labeling the risk it imposes before taking action. If it truly can have drastic results then I simply don't follow through however if it can help the future of the kingdom I will do anything in my power to help it prosper if it's good and end it if it's bad."
The queen nodded satisfied with the sensible answer the princess had given.
"Indeed you speak as a rightful heir to the throne of your kingdom."
Pleased with herself the princess held back her smirk and gave a polite smile mentally dancing.
"And you, your highnesses."
Princess Amelia's mother spoke up drawing the attention of the princes to herself.
"Your mother has told me that all twelve of you seek some form of ... Fun?"
The supposedly oldest spoke up.
"Yes, Your Highness."
"What kind of fun do you like?"
"everyone has a different definition for 'fun' my definition consists of several outings with strangers and without guards."
"Now that you have said it out loud I believe you should know why we are against it?"
"as princess-"
The prince paused and glanced at the princess as he silently asked her for her name.
"Amelia."
The princess spoke up interested in knowing what the prince had to say.
"Thank you your highness, as Princess Amelia stated I also believe myself to be capable enough of judging people, and according to my judgement I execute my actions."
"Very well, what about you all young princes?"
Amelia's mother questioned ahead and they all gave a small shrug. The smallest one pipping up a little as the queen turned to him.
"You must be Prince Joshua?"
The young prince grinned a cheeky grin, his eyes lighting up as he drowned in the attention being directed at him.
"Yes My Queen."
"My, My your mother was right about the sweet talking..."
The queen stated amused.
"Sweet talking? I only state what my eyes see."
"Any thoughts on our current situation?"
The queen questioned making Amelia heave an internal sigh, it was obvious that they didn't need an opinion.
"I don't think I can complain to the leaders of great kingdoms. I'm merely a young prince-youngest in fact- when compared to you great legends."
Princess Amelia put him in the category of a Manipulator as from the words he spoke she could tell that he would know exactly what to say and when to say it, in order to get an upper hand in any situation.
The Royal heads confidence grew by the moment and the princess couldn't help but give her oldest sister a bored look. One which the sister smiled at.
"You speak like a wise king of the future, now if you all will excuse us. We will be deciding what to do in the throne room, only in the case of an emergency are you allowed to disrupt our conversation otherwise I suggest you all stay out and try to get to know one another. The butlers will be bringing in some treats for all of you, enjoy till we return. But don't forget that none of you are allowed to leave the palace you may tour around if you want otherwise you can stay here, we'll return in an hour or so and I want all of you back here. Understood?"
"Yes."
Hearing the reply they wanted, the four heads turned around and walked out of the discussion room back into the throne room. An awkward silence fell on the room as no one knew what to say or how to say it. After sitting in the room for 5 suffocating minutes the princess stood up slowly, careful to not let her chair scrape against the floor loudly.
All eyes turned to her curiously as she sighed and headed right out the door which unknown to her had everyone in the room stunned. While the princes found the act a little rude the princesses sighed expecting nothing else from their sister.
"Is she okay?"
Prince Joshua the smallest of the bunch of the 12 princes spoke up.
"I'm sure she's fine, just a little tired out from all the activities the Queen had her busied in since the morning."
Amelia's oldest sister replied to which the prince frowned in confusion.
"Activities?"
"To keep her from wandering outside the palace once again."
"Isn't it good for royalty to go out and meet their people personally?"
The prince questioned further doing his best to not sound too nosy however he couldn't hide the fact that he was generally interested.
"It is a good practice, yes, but, a royalty isn't supposed to risk her life every single day by sneaking out at different timings and going as far as to help get criminals caught."
"That's actually really cool."
The prince commented to which the sister smiled politely. If it wasn't for the fact that Amelia actually put herself in a lot of danger, the princess would've been happy about it too.
"It is but we can't have her risking her life every day, if anything were to happen to her the kingdom would be in danger."
The prince nodded smiling at the princess in return.
"The Queen mentioned something about a tour... so can we all look around?"
"Absolutely your highness we can show you around."
Prince Jack - the oldest of the bunch - nodded in agreement before the princes followed the princesses out.
*****************************
They approached the gate of the royal garden and the guard greeted them before opening the heavy metal doors. They all entered one by one the princesses' gasping at the sight before them while the princes noticed a waft of fading paint in the air.
"Oh my goodness, who did this?"
"How can someone do this?"
"This artwork is amazing!"
All their heads snapped to Princess Diana the one who was older than Amelia but younger than the other 2.
"I'm just appreciating the artwork."
"I don't see this as a situation to be taken lightly."
Princess Claire second oldest sister of princess Amelia remarked making Diana sigh and turn around.
"I know but how can you ignore the fact that all the flowers have been painted to perfection, not a single spot has been left uncovered and not once has the paint been over swiped, Maybe the painting classes worked. even though she didn't show up to them."
"I'm sure mother hasn't heard of this yet."
Princess Ella the oldest sister sighed.
"It is a beautiful sight."
Prince Jack spoke up, his presence suddenly being realized by the princesses who had completely forgotten about them.
"It certainly is, sadly we must be heading back as the hour is soon going to be over."
The prince nodded and all twelve of them followed the princesses back to the discussion room, where to everyone's astonishment sat Princess Amelia. A book in her hand as she spared them a single glance before turning back to her book.
To everyone's delight the desserts were already there and as soon as all of them sat down the butlers began setting up the table in front of them.
