"Good morning your highness."
Prince Holland was the first one to greet them as they walked in.
"Call me Amelia."
The princess pouted as Holland chuckled, nervously rubbing the back of his neck at the glance Ace threw his way. Noticing this princess Amelia turned around and prince Ace abruptly tore his eyes away from his brother and to the painting at the top of the dining hall.
"Ace..."
The prince felt her gaze before she called out his name and he knew that she was probably going to tell him to stop scaring Holland. Which was something he couldn't help, it barely took a look from him and all the princes straightened up.
Aces POV:
Holland passed me a nervous chuckle and mouthed an apology as Amelia stared at me while I avoided her eyes. She crossed her arm with a pout and I sighed while giving in.
Stupid mate bond.
Awee!
Did she... just awe at me? Okay it's official, she's probably a little hit in the head.
He's acting like a possessive baby!
She mentally squealed making me want to choke on my saliva and die right there. She didn't know that due to the Mate bond I had access to her thoughts just like she had access to mine, unless one of us puts the wall up and that was the first thing that I had done after mistakenly marking her.
Jace on the other hand, smirked while keeping his head buried into the newspaper in his hand. He was no doubt using his telepathy on her right now and she didn't even know it.
I hadn't missed the way all of their eyes had suddenly zeroed in on the bite mark at her neck. I hadn't expected her to be in that much pain due to it but I was proven wrong. Her blood however had tasted sweeter than what I had expected and I couldn't hold back from draining her of most of it like a hungry cave man.
I winced at the mental comparison and sighed as she turned back to my brothers, back to her old jolly mood.
"Good morning to all of you too your Highness's."
They all replied in a sweet manor, unlike the one they used with one another. Joshua and Brian seemed to be the most infatuated ones out the 11 of them. With their constant bickering it was painstakingly obvious that they were both crushing on her.
I hadn't missed the change in their moods when they had seen the bite mark at her neck. It was clear that they hadn't believed me when I told them that I had marked her. I couldn't blame them either, none of us had a great relationship except for Holland. He got along with everyone, being the nice kid out of all of us.
Joshua had dragged Amelia to the table and pulled out a chair for her to sit on, she sat down while thanking him. He quickly took his place on her left making Brian growl in annoyance and all the rest of us roll our eyes. The seat on her right was empty and I knew that no one had the guts to occupy it as it was technically mine.
She glanced to me curiously then back to the seat, her action showing pure confusion.
Why isn't he sitting?
She questioned herself mentally and I smiled once again before taking my place beside her.
Okay, I need to ask them all about yesterdays food. So someone can explain the butterflies to me.
I couldn't help but chuckle at her thoughts, according to her she had eaten caterpillars by mistake yesterday and hence she felt butterflies in her stomach. It wasn't the caterpillars that she definitely didn't eat that caused the butterflies, I knew that it was because of me but I wanted her to figure that out herself. And yet here she was about to ask my brothers about it so before she could I interrupted her brain fest.
Amelia?
Oh My God! I'm going crazy and hearing Aces voice in my head.
Amelia, you're absolutely not crazy, it is me.
It can't be, prove it.
How would you like me to prove it?
By turning your head towards me.
She glanced at me from the corner of her eye but I didn't turn, simply because I was enjoying this too much to want it to end. I had pushed Jace out of her mind which resulted in his current brooding mood.
Ha. You aren't real.
You're right, and this only proves that you aren't mentally okay.
Her face grew to a worried one as she glanced around the room curiously, I turned my head to her and passed her a mischievous smile. It took her a few seconds before she was scolding me in my head.
You scared me!
Sorry, couldn't resist.
She stuck her tongue out at me while I smiled at her innocently in return.
This is unfair, you can read my thoughts now too?
Yes, but I'm only able to do that because I'm your mate however, Jace is always in your head because of his telepathic power. Due to this I will be teaching you how to build a wall up to block people out, but I would prefer it if you don't use it around me.
She nodded her head at me before glaring at Jace who stared at her in shock and confusion. His stare turned to me and he glared in response knowing I had done something. I only smirked in reply as the food was brought in by the guards.
I have to ask prince Levi to check the food for caterpillars this time.
I interrupted her thinking once again making her throw me a warning look, probably to stop getting in her head.
It wasn't the food that caused the butterflies.
What? how did you know about that?... never mind.
She grumbled on in her head making me sigh before replying.
I was the one who caused the butterflies in your stomach.
Oh... that's why I felt them when you smi-
She cut herself off, a blush growing at her cheeks as she bent her head down, her hair falling around her like a curtain. If it wasn't for my brothers I wouldn't have minded teasing her. Joshua and Brian stared at her confused and worried while Jace and the others passed me a knowing smirk, making me roll my eyes in response.
but I couldn't keep my own smirk at bay, and ended up making her grow even redder than before when I glanced at her.
Stop smirking!
She whined in my head as my smirk slipped into a small smile.
Or else?
I questioned while Challenging her. she passed me a daring look and I smirked once again.she was about to retort but the arrival of her favorite chocolates had her nearly squealing in delight. I wasn't the only one who had caught onto her sudden giddy mood, it seemed that Lance and Derek had seen it to.
You like those?
No. I love them!
She squealed childishly in my head making me sigh, I wasn't a big fan of noises but I knew I could adjust with her.
I passed her, her favorite treats and a few others that she mentally admired. Just like the last time, my brothers stared at me curiously while I shrugged in response, they wouldn't get it just yet.
We ate quietly until Levi spoke up.
"The doctor has sent a few reports and I need to review them with you, Ace."
I nodded my head before turning to my mate as her question rang through my head.
How can a being make another being grow butterflies in their stomach?
I'll show you how when we return to our room.
She nodded at me in response the innocence oozing off of her, she had no idea what I had planned and I smirked to myself imagining the scenario.
As we finished eating, Levi asked me to follow him.
"Amelia I think it's best if you rest for today."
Levi nodded along with the others making her and my two little brothers, who were currently planning on roaming around, huff as they knew they were outnumbered.
Amelia nodded before saying good bye to all of them and turning to me, probably about to ask what she wanted to ask.
Wait for me in the room alright?
She nodded her head again and walked back to my room like a well mannered young woman.
Levi led me to the library, where he spent most of his time, an envelope was placed at the desk that he pulled me too. He gestured for me to open it and I did. I gave him a curious look and he sighed.
"She's AB- "
Levi nodded in response.
"You know what this means right?"
I nodded my head in response as well, of course I knew what it meant. It clearly meant that she was among one of the rare people with AB- as their blood type. No wonder I couldn't control myself.
"we will have to take special care of her in school because if another vampire can catch a drift of her blood they're bound to loose it."
I nodded, it was crystal clear for me. I had to protect her, her blood could send a pure blood or even an half blood on a rampage. And a vampire on a rampage was never a pretty sight.
"Is that all?"
I questioned and he nodded in response. I wished him a good day before walking away to my room smirking as I thought of what was going to happen next, I was her mate after all so I was technically not planning on doing anything wrong.
