Jake Donovan find himself one day a single and bankrupt father with two children, after his wife decide to leave her family and run with another guy. Desperately, is triyng to survive every day, to pay the bills, to feed the children, to send them to school. Although he tries every day to find a better and stabile job, he finds nothing good. One day, while on his new job , a second hand car shop, he is presenting a car to a client , he hears him talking on the phone with a company that was ready to pay him $ 10,000 for a new product idea. Arriving home, on an internet search, find out that there are many companies in various fields that pay good money for new product ideas. So, he start sending different ideas to different companies. To his surprise, his ideas prove to be very appreciated and valuable, from new fitness machines to smart bowls for pet food. Seeing that things are finally starting to go well for him, he considered the client from whom the idea came to him, his luck. Day by day, he send new ideas to different companies, earning lots and lots of cash. When everything seemed perfect, and from a bankrupt man to one who could afford to buy his children anything, two email’s turned everything upside down: the American and Russian secret services would make an offer of 100 million dollars for his new idea: an undetectable and very destructive missle. Thinking it’s a mistake, because he didn’t submited such idea, he ignored and erased the two emails. After a few days, he receive again the same kind of email, this time from japanese mafia. Now, he decided to reply to the email’s, saying that he have nothing to do with any rocket idea. Instead of the situation being clarified, Jake started receiving threatening email’s, saying that the idea of a missle so destructive and dangerous cannot be sold to any country. Seing that the situation becomes serious, and fearing for the life and safety of himself and his children, decide to ask help from police. Arriving at the police station, he is ridiculed, the police think it is a joke, and advise him in mockery, to go home before he start a war between America, Rusia and Japanese mafia. The problem being very serious, he tries to contact the FBI to clarify this situation, as he knows nothing about this missile idea, although in the emails it was clearly written not to try to go to the police. Everything gets even more complicated when the FBI wants to see the emails received in connection with this rocket, find out that those emails no longer exist. To make matters worse, the pictures he takes with his phone in emails, disappear as soon as Jake tries to send them to the police or FBI. Suddenly, no company responds to the ideas it sends, or respond that his idea has already been sent by someone else, and it would be better not to be inspired by the ideas of others. Suddenly, he wakes up in the middle of a very dangerous game for something he did not do, his ideas are no longer accepted by any other company. Seeing that no one can help him, continuing to receive emails that are deleted by themselves after being read, he realizes that he is alone and must protect his children. After countless visits to FBI for help, agent Dave Smith decide to check his story, not believing his story, but fearing for Jake’s two children, believing it started to be crazy. After a discussion with the FBI psychologist Jane Smith, Dave is surprised to find out that Jake is perfectly mentally healthy and does not lie. Dave decide to help Jake, although he does not know from where to start. For the begining, Jane will take Jake’s children Bill and Nick far from the city, and Dave will stay with Jake in his apartment, to try to find a way to start. An idea start when, after Jake receive a new threatening email from the Russian secret service, and both of the make picture to the email with their mobile phones, and Jake’s photos were deleted immediately, but Dave’s not, but at the same time, the emails from both laptops have been deleted in the same time, because Dave and Jake have connected their laptops to Jake’s email adress. The difference was that Dave hadn’t connected his phone to the interent in Jake’s apartment, only his laptop. Dave had his phone connected to the mobile phone internet he belonged to. Now, proving that Jake is not lying, they have to work togeder to find out what is going on. Starting point is, obviously, the internet. The IT specialist from FBI, Craig Michael, after checking the internet in Jake’s apartament, discover that the internet is hacked. Dave announce immediately FBI about the situation, but remains petrified when FBI told him on the phone that he is under national surveillance and is to be arrested for terrorism togeder with Jake and Craig. Trying again to explain the situation, Dave is threeatened on the phone that if he does not cooperate and does not hand over the missile sketches, all three will be eliminaed. This whole situation seems hopeless, untill Craig comes up with an idea: to follow the internet connection. When is about to discover something, FBI cars can be heard in front of the house, Jake’s mobile phone being followed by FBI. In their attempt to escape, Craig is wounded and captured by the FBI, Dave and Jake managing to escape. Having Craig’s laptop with them, they try to continue the search, they thus discover that network is connected to another server, before the official one. Chased by the FBI, the American secret services, the Russian secret services and the Japanese mafia, Dave and Jake wake up alone in a very dangerous game, without any guilt. But an unexpected help comes from Jane, who flew to Mexico with Jake’s children’s. Accesing the FBI database, Jane discovers that the rocket plans were submitted to the FBI a few hours before, with Jake’s signature. Instantly, Dave pulls out his gun and wants to arrest Jake, but he manages to run, leaving Dave uncertin if Jake is or is not involved in this game. Having his children safely with Jane, Jake can only focus on proving his innocence. Going back as close to his house as he could connect Craig’s laptop to the house’s wireless internet, and being watched by many people who are ready to eliminate him for something he did not do, Jake manage to find out where is the other server connected between his home and the rightful internet provider. Following the network, Jake arrives at a secluded house with its windows covered, with two large dogs in the yard. When he want to contact Dave, a detail would draw his attention: the car in the yard is the car he sold to the one he considers his luck. Jake decides to wait and see who live there. After a few hours, ”his luck” appears in the yard, the client who inspired him to sell ideas to companies. Slowly, everything starts to make sense. After ”his luck” go back in house, Jake open the gate and the dogs go outside, he manage to go inside the house, where face George Alberts, a smart haker. Threatening him with the gun he had managed to get from Dave, Albert tell Jake how are things: nothing in this life is accidental. A desperate man always finds solutions and ideas to survive. His job was not being a haker... his job was to find desperate people, to inspire them to make money by sending ideas to companies that buy ideas, and too steal those ideas. Jake was surprised to find out that his ideas worth millions, not tens of thousands of dollars. George was the one who received the ideas from Jake, improved them, and passed them to the companies, receiving millions of dollars, and giving to Jake just tens of thousands of dollars. About the rocket ideas, George said that was his masterpiece... the last job George wanted to do before he finnaly moved to Barazil, with all the money he had, seeing that Jake has so many good ideas, he needed him to sketch the missle, and the best solution was to stress and threaten him. All emails from America secret service, Russia secret services and Japanese mafia were false, send to Jake by George, who managed to hack his internet, his laptop and his mobile phone. Now, Jake’s first instinct was to call FBI and to get George to admit all his guilt and get everything back to normal. While Jake wanted to call the FBI, George make him an offer: he will share all the money with him if they manage to escape togeder to Brazil. At first, Jake didn’t want, being an honest man, but, thinking about the future of his children, realizing that without George he will not be able to sell any ideas and he will return again to the uncertainty he had before, he agrees, but on the condition to go to Mexico, where his kids and beautiful Jane are. Having no other choice, George accepts. Now, a race begins to get rid of FBI. While Dave is looking for Jake, George send an anonymous email to FBI, saying that Jake will be in airport in two hours, trying to leave the country with the missile sketches. While Dave and several FBI teams were at the airport to catch Jake and the missile sketches, the two of them had already crossed the border into Mexico. After Jake meets with the children, Jane wants to go back home. Jake stop her, asking her to stay with him and the kids. Jane, who was attracted to Jake and attached to children, accepet. When everything finally semmed perfect for Jake, being safe with the children, having next to them the beautiful Jane, she told him that she doesn’t trust George. Using her connections to FBI, she search his profile. Jane finds out that George is a former Iranian spy, wanted by the CIA for arms trafficking and development. Warning Jake, the two decide to set a trap for him. She come with an idea to change their identitie, so that they can never be found and enjoy money and freedom. After all five of them have new names, Jane and Jake want to give George a present: a one week trip to Brazil. George gladly accept, especially since he really wanted to visit that country. Right after George go in the plane, Jane change George the identity back to the original one: Ali Majid. Arriving at the airport in Brazil, he is arreested immediately. Only then he realize that he fell into a tarp. Jake and Jane get in touch with Dave and explain the whole situation. Dave is verry happy to find out the truth, and, because they helped arrest Ali, gives them two possibilities... to remain in Mexico under the new identities and keep all the money, or to return home keeping their real identities but returning all the money to the state. Before he get an answer, Dave wish them a happy life togeder in Mexico. Now, the four of them live happily, until the Iranian government detects Ali’s laptop, where many military secrets are. Their new beautiful and quiet life will soon be disturbet by Iranian agents on their wat to them, with the intention of recovering their laptop and eliminating those who have been in contact with it.
