Lucy is an enthusiastic person. When she met with maddie a few days ago, she had said that she would introduce her to boss with the hope of her getting a job. Today, she called maddie and asked her to go for an interview.
"You want me to go for an interview?" Maddie was obviously surprised by Lucy's invitation. She thought that Lucy was just bluffing, she didn't expect that she would really ask her boss for work on her behalf and now, she seems to
"Lucy, I..." Maddie heard someone calling Lucy on the other end of the phone.
"Maddie, I have something to do now. You can come by the address I gave you. Call me when you arrive. I'll go down to pick you up." Lucy said quickly, not giving a chance for Maddie to speak at, before Maddie could speak, the phone on the other end was hung up.
Maddie hung up the phone helplessly, not knowing whether to go or not.
Aunt Elsa was wiping the coffee table, and she naturally heard Maddie's phone call just now. Seeing her frowning, she couldn't help but ask: "Madam, are you going out for an interview?"
"Auntie, do you think I should go?" Maddie frowned, like a child who couldn't pay attention.
"Do you want to go? If you want to go, then you should go. It's not that hard to choose." She has been a housekeeper here for almost three years. For Maddie, she actually doesn't take her as her master only. She willingly treat her as his own daughter. She knew that Maddie married her husband after graduating from university. After marriage, she hardly went out. Even if she was to go shopping for the space of a year, it had not been up to five times. Her husband worked almost every day and didn't have time to spend time with her. She knew that she was actually very lonely, although she laughed every day, she knew that she was not happy. If going out to work makes her happier, it may not be a bad thing.
"But, young master, he doesn't agree with me to go out to work." She had said to him many times before, and his attitude was the same. He probably won't agree this time.
"Sir, he goes out early every morning and comes back very late at night. If we deliberately conceal the matter from him, he will not know." Aunt Elsa tried to persuade her as she sat down beside her.
"Is it really possible?" Maybe Aunt Elsa is right. Ethan always leaves early and returns late. He might not know if she really goes out to work.
"Going for a walk is also good for your health. Staying at home all day is so boring." Aunt Elsa joked.
"Okay, I'll go." Maddie nodded earnestly as if she had made some kind of major decision. When she thought of something, her brows lightly and said, "But what if I can't make it?"
"What's the matter dear, so what if you didn’t plan to go, now you just got this opportunity. It’s good you face it.” Aunt Elsa like a kind mother, encourages Maddie to do what she wants to do. Mother! It’s been a long time since Maddie had thought of this term. Her mother died of illness when she was eleven years old. Afterwards, she has been living with her father and almost forgot her impression of her mother.
"Thank you, auntie." Maddie embraced t Aunt Elsa. Maddie was so Fortunate that she was with her for the past three years, so that she didn't feel like she was alone.
Maddie quickly changed into a white dress, rolled up her long hair and tied it into a ponytail. She looked so pure like a female college student at school. No one would guess that she was actually married for three years. .
Maddie came to the decorating company according to the address given to her by Lucy. It was a medium sized company. While downstairs, Maddie called Lucy. Lucy said that she had no time to go down now and let her come up by herself.
Seeing how busy everyone in this office looked, she was a little dizzy. Maddie didnt know who to ask for direction. They all seemed to be very busy. The calls came and went one after another, it was not so easy for her to find someone to ask.
Maddie looked at all this blankly, hesitating whether to call Lucy or simply just leave, suddenly a document was thrown next to her, and a magnetic voice rang above her head, "Photocopy this and wait for it to be sent. Come to my office." After speaking, he turned and left, and walked to the front general manager's office.
"I...I'm not an employee here." Maddie muttered to herself, looking at the tall figure who was leaving, looking at the documents in her hand and glancing at the people in the office, Maddie shook her head, sighed secretly, and went ahead to look for the copier.
Maddie took the copied documents to the room where the man entered, knocked on the door and entered. She saw the man sitting elegantly on the leather chair, holding a pen in one hand and a document in the other, and painting on it. The painter did not look up.
Maddie took a deep breath and said, "Hello, this is the information you want." She respectfully placed the information on his desk. Maddie caught a glimpse of what the man was holding was not a document, but a drawing, which seemed to be an interior design artwork and because of her passion for design, she took a quick interest to it.
The man still didn't look up, he took a pen to make changes around it, as if he didn't notice anyone coming in.
Seeing him like this, Maddie had no intention of interrupting, and turned around to leave.
Before she could get to the door, the man behind her spoke again, "Bring me a cup of coffee with no sugar."
Maddie was taken aback. She was here to interview for the job of the assistant accountant. What is this situation now? She can't be an office girl anymore.
She turned around, stepped forward, took a deep breath, and solemnly said, "Sir, please see clearly, I'm here for an interview, and I'm not your employee yet."
Hearing this, the man sitting at the desk lifted up his head, looked at Maddie, but did not speak, as if to see through her.
Maddie who was stared a, felt so uncomfortabe and said awkwardly: "You...what are you looking at." While speaking, her face flushed.
"Then I hire you as my secretary now, you can start working, so I want you to go out and make a cup of coffee for me without sugar." The man said, the expression on his face didn't seem to be a joke.
"What?" Maddi couldn't understand the situation. She remembered that she was here to interview the assistant accountant. How did this man hire her as his secretary.
"Is there a problem?" Maddie's reaction made the man a little unhappy. It was obviously a question, but Maddie thought it sounded threatening.
Maddie shook her head subconsciously, not even knowing what she was doing.
"Then hurry." The voice was not loud, but it revealed a strong feeling of discomfort.
Maddie withdrew from the room in a daze. It wasn't until she was standing in the pantry that she realized that she had become someone else's secretary in a daze, even though she had come to interview for the job of the assistant accountant.
