"Madam, dinner is ready." Aunt Elsa The housekeeper informed her.
"Yeah." Maddie responded with a smile, turned off the TV, got up and walked with her to the dining room, and asked while sitting down: "Did young Master tell you If he will come back for dinner tonight?"
"Young Master called in the afternoon, He said that there is a dinner party in the evening and won’t come back for dinner.” Auntie Elsa replied respectfully while serving her meal.
"Well, let's sit down and eat together." As usual, because it is too lonely to eat alone, Maddie always invites the housekeeper to eat together.
"No Madam, today my son is bringing my granddaughter home. We made an appointment to have dinner together." Aunt Elsa said, with unconcealable happiness on her face.
"Oh ok, you can go back earlier, it’s not good to be late." Maddie knew that the housekeeper’s house was far away, and she was reluctant to take a taxi, even though she didn’t have a car. She thought of something again and said "Tomorrow is the weekend. You do not have to come, have fun with granddaughter at home alright ". Hearing her, Aunt Elsa was overjoyed " Thank you, madam, but your meals ...... "
" I'm not so delicate, I was a child when my mother passed away, I used to cook three meals at the time, and I won’t leave myself hungry,” Maddie said with a smile, got up, and took her to the door. She watched her aunt leave before returning to the dining table, enjoying dinner alone.
It was eleven o'clock in the evening when Ethan returned home, and Jasmine was sitting on the bedside flipping through a novel casually. In the past three years, she had picked to designing and reading novels as a way to relieve her boredom. She considers herself a qualified wife, at least she will wait for him every day, take his briefcase after he gets home, prepare hot water for him, and find his pajamas for him.
Hearing the sound of the door opening, Maddie quickly put the novel on the bedside cabinet. She didn't want her husband to find out that she was reading a novel to pass the time, she got up and walked out of the room after making sure that she was dressed neatly.
"I'm back," Ethan said very few words, this is a sentence he says every day, and it seems that it has almost become his habit for three years.
"Well, I haven't slept yet." She replied the same way, she always replied to him that way and didn't pay attention to whether it was new or not.
No answer, no need to answer, she reached out and took his briefcase directly. She smelled a familiar female perfume on his body, which was not hers. She also inadvertently saw the bright red mark on his neckline, faint but still visible. Without a smile, she didn't ask too much, didn't think too much, turned around to prepare his bathwater. Hearing the sound of water in the bathroom stopped, she knew he was coming out soon, dropping the novel back on the bedside, she lay down and pretended that she was asleep, turned sideways with her back to the direction of the bathroom. She heard the bathroom door being opened and felt the other side of the bed visibly shook because of the heavy person who just got into bed, and then a pair of powerful arms fished her into a familiar and warm embrace, his chin pressed against the top of her head, and then a magnetic and gentle voice rang above her head, "Good night." Following his good night, Maddie slowly fell asleep in his arms.
In the dark, the corner of Ethan's mouth raised a nice arc, and he fell asleep with his wife's even breathing contentedly.
