After Divorce, the Alphas Made Their Claims on Me

CHAPTER ONE. UNEXPECTED TURN OUT. Aria's POV. "Mom, Dad, I don't want to get married to him," I told my parents, folding my hands behind my back as I refused to look them in the face. "But why? Aria, it's your destiny." My mum reminded me as if I had forgotten, but I didn't, I don't just believe in destinies like that. The moongoddess couldn't obviously be so cruel to pair me with a monster like him. Last full moon, I discovered the Lycan, crown prince, Jaxton, was my mate. Everyone thought I was lucky, but I knew I had just entered hell because this guy had bullied me my whole life, and also ruthlessly attacked people when they defied him. 'I couldn't end up with such a man, never, I refuse to.' I thought in determination, clenching my hands into fists. Once his dad, Lycan king, Killian, found out I was his son's destined mate, he immediately arranged for our wedding, which was to happen in two days. "Please, Mom, I can't marry him." I pleaded and my dad let out a weary sigh while mum got up to walk towards me. Currently, I am standing in front of them. "Please, don't feel that way." Mum bent to peck my forehead before sending me out of their room. I bit my lower lip in anger and saw that Alex, my twin brother's, room was left wide open. We didn't exactly get along and avoided one another's pathways. But for some unknown reason, my feet moved me into his room, and my lips parted in awe to see things scattered everywhere. Boxes were laid both on the table and the bed. 'Was he going somewhere?' I pondered, noticing he had his headset on and was happily rapping to one of Eminem's songs as he packed his clothes into the boxes. "Hmm." I coughed, trying to attract his attention, but the fool obviously placed his music on loud volume, blocking his wolf hearing, so I walked towards him and yanked the headset off his head. "What the f**k!" He turned to glare at me, reaching to take the headset back from me. "What do you want, freak?" "What has gotten you so excited?" The side of my lips curled into a smirk as I jumped away from him, still holding the headset out of his reach. "None of your business." He stomped his foot on the ground angrily and I giggled. That was exactly what I wanted to see. He couldn't be happy while I would be wallowing in misery. "Give me back my stuff, Aria." He started chasing me around his room but I refused to budge. "Not until you tell me what you are so happy about and where you are going to." I gestured towards his luggage and he let out a sigh, stopping. "I got accepted into the Alpha's Academy." He blurted out and I froze in my steps. "Really? The same Alpha academy?" I widened my eyes slightly and he nodded. Before he could reach towards me again, I jumped on him and we both landed on his bed. "Get off me, psycho." He yelled as I began pecking him all over his cheeks. "Congratulations." I cheered, seriously happy for him. It has been his dream to get into Alpha Boys ' Academy, the school for only the rich male kids. Though those with status flocked into it, you have to be extremely brilliant and skilled to be able to get in. Alex wasn't skilled enough to get in, and he was devastated. 'Did the school reconsider or....?' I was wondering but decided to ask. "But how?" I got off him and he sat upright, cleaning his cheeks with a frown. "Jaxton helped me." He muttered, and the smile immediately vanished from my face. Jaxton's Dad was one of the founders of the school and also Alex's best friend. It was why my brother was in support of our marriage. I threw Alex's headset at him and exited his room, fuming, about to go for a run but then changed my mind, deciding to go to my room when I passed my parent's room and heard loud tones like they were arguing or something. "Let's cancel her marriage." I heard my dad tell Mum and felt my heart soar in happiness. I wanted to barge into their room to thank them, but I noticed Mum looked pale, so I hid away to eavesdrop. Was she against it? "That's impossible, George. Alpha Killian would have our heads." Mum shrieked and my jaw dropped. Alpha Killian? Jaxton's Dad? But why? Just then, I remembered he was the one who proposed marriage to me and didn't seem to be offering; it seemed to be a command instead. "I know but we can find a way out. Aria's happiness mat.."Dad was about to say something when Mum began shaking all of a sudden. "Have you forgotten our deal? Aria belongs to him, he wants her. Jaxton is just a cover-up." Mum half-yelled and all colors drained from my face. Did she just say what I thought she did? Dad jolted as if just remembering whatever it was they meant and went to gather Mum into his arms as she burst into tears. "This is all the more reason why we have to try and call off this engagement. Aria can't be with a man old enough to be her father." My dad whispered and my legs wobbled. I collapsed to the floor with a loud thud, attracting both my mum and Dad's attention, who both looked like they had seen a ghost when they saw it was me. "A-aria." My mum stuttered. "Isn't Jaxton my mate? What's with his father now?" I wanted to scream but could only choke out words. My parents exchanged looks and looked like they were about to say something when their heads suddenly disappeared from their bodies and blood gushed out, spraying everywhere and soaking me. I watched in horror, my heart skipping a beat from fear as Alpha Killian stood in the doorway, licking the blood off his sword, with a devilish grin that sent shivers down my spine. 'How did he get in? When?' I pondered as I felt my heart beating heavily against my chest. I looked behind him and saw the window open. A gasp escaped me. "Finally, you get to be mine." He inched closer to me and a scream tore out of my throat as I trembled, trying to get away from him. Alex ran out of his room, and when he saw our parents' lifeless bodies on the ground and Alpha Killian's bloody sword, he growled. "You bastard." His claws tore out and; "Alex, no," I screamed when Alex dashed towards him but instead got pierced in the stomach. Alex coughed up blood, collapsing to his knees while Alpha Killian burst into laughter that sent goosebumps all over my body.
