EPISODE FOURTEEN

Martin looked at Remi like he didn't hear what she had said and before he could react, the nurse walked in as she had heard Martin shouting from outside. She walked in and found Martin starting to pull the drips off his hand and not even both of them could pin him down so the nurse injected him with a sedative so that he could relax and sleep it off because they didn't know what else to do with him given the fact that the stitches were still fresh and any vigorous activity could remove the stitches.

Martin: I need to find my sister, damn it!..

He said as the nurse lay him in bed and within a few minuted he fell asleep..

Nurse: what's going on?

The nurse asked turning to Remi who was now more worried than she was a while ago. Maybe it was a bad idea fo tell Martin about Stella but what was she supposed to do?..

Remi: his sister is missing, he just found out...

Nurse: oh.. the one you were here with yesterday?

Remi: yes. Her name is Stella..Listen, am an officer and I would like you to keep tabs on everyone that walks in here to come see him. He has no family apart from his sister and if this woman shows up here ( showing Lexi's photo) don't let her anywhere near him but give me a call immediately. Do you understand?...

She said handing the nurse her number and she nodded as she tucked the card in her side pocket but had alot of doubts written all over her face...

Remi: the lady whose photo i just showed you did this to him and she has something to do with her sister's disappearance so please give me a call if she shows up.

Nurse: it's late so I will assure you that no one will come here but I will keep watch.

Remi: thank you... Also give me a call once he is awake and if he is ready to be given a discharged, please speak to his doctor because he won't stay here knowing his sister is missing.

Nurse: I understand. I will take care of it.

Remi: thank you..

Remi walked up to Martin and gave him a kiss on the forehead before she walked out of the hospital and it was very late already. She got inside the car and drove off to her place hoping that maybe, just maybe Stella would show up to fight her too then she would shoot her dead without thinking twice about it... How could her body go missing just like that and where the hell was that Lexi?..

When George and Lexi got done on the dance floor, he asked if they could go to their room for there were other surprises and Lexi agreed.The story she had told rendered her safe so she knew that she was a still safe and all she needed to do was build that trust for a few more days before she finished off George, she was going to, all she needed was that perfect time...

Once they got inside the room and locked the door, Lexi stood in the middle of the room admiring everything about it. The rose petals that were spread on the bed, the bottle of wine and two glasses besides the bed and the dim light that definitely got someone in the mood for everything sinful that could be done in a not so dark room.

She said spinning around them touching the petals on the bed and turned go him..

Lexi: I can't believe you did all these for me..

He asked standing behind her and brushing his hands on her arms as he held her hair and smelled it brushing his lips on her cheeks as he caressed her body with the other hand.

Laura searched the house and turned Lawrence's room up and down. She knew there was something else she ought to have found in that house besides the safe but where?

She hit her head with the palm of her hand several times then dropped herself on Lawrence's chair and laid back staring at the empty ceiling.

Laura: give me a clue damn it. Where did you keep the virus?

She asked an absent Lawrence and since he was no where to answer, she got up, picked her purse switched off the lights then walked out of the room.

Laura got to her car then sat there for a while thinking of her next move but her mind was blank.

Laura: what did that woman have to do with your death Lawrence, what were you hiding from me, were you cheating even after you promised not to?

She asked herself then shook her head.

Laura: no it can't be. You promised never to cheat and I knew you stopped but why did she take your car with her, did you make some sort of deal with her?

She couldn't get an answer to all her questions so she got her phone and called Remi who had just gotten to her place..

Remi: Laura...

Laura: I'm sorry officer I know it's late but is there any latest news on the woman who killed my fiance?

Remi: no. Why?

Laura: there is something I need to share with you. Not over the phone.

Remi: okay, I will find you tomorrow.

Laura: thanks.

She ended the call, dropped the phone on the seat besides her then drove off..

Vera: so there is something to actually tell. I knew you know something b***h but how do I listen in on that conversation with the cop?

She asked taking off the head phones from her head and keeping them aside Damn that George. He should have been here to help me think.

She put away her laptop and slid into bed.

The following morning Martin opened his eyes and there was no one inside the room so he pulled himself up and sat up then shortly after his breakfast came as the doctor came to check on him after the nurse gave him the report Remi had left behind.

Doc: hello Martin

Martin: hello.

Doc: how are you feeling today?

Martin: I'm fine doctor, can I go home today?

Doc: yes, if you promise not to involve in any vigorous activities that will undo the stitches on your stomach.

He said noting something on the form that was attached to a clipboard..

Martin: I get it doc. I will be cautious.

Doc: good. I will make a few prescriptions and please take the dose without fail.

Martin: okay.

His breakfast had been put on a stand beside the table and when the doctor walked out, he asked the nurse to prepare his stuff for discharge.

Nurse: but you need to at least take your breakfast.

Martin: what if I don't, you will sadate me again? I'm not interested in taking breakfast.

Remi: no?... even if it's from home?

She asked getting inside the room and walking towards them. Martin didn't respond but looked at the nurse who left them so that she could go do what he had requested.

Remi: how are you feeling today Martin?

Martin: I'm okay.

She watched him struggle to get out of bed and she quickly put everything on the top of the trolley and went fo help him but he showed her his hand like he didn't want her any closer.. she stopped on her tracks knowing he was t going to get off the bed without help so she waited until he could ask..

Remi: where are you going?...

She asked getting closer but he didn't respond to that. He sat on the edge of the bed and looked at her.

Martin: Any news on my sister?

Remi: not yet.

There was silence that Remi broke by pouring some tea in his cup and handing it to him.

Remi: breakfast in bed?

She smiled but Martin maintained a serious face. He knew so well Remi.was trying to cheer him up but he was not in the mood to feel good when he didn't know where Stella was..

Remi: there is an arrest warrant for Lexi. When we find her, we will know where she took... (Mhh!) Where she took Stella.

Martin: I need you to tell me the truth and don't hide s**t from me.

He asked with a stern look on his face..

Remi: okay.

Martin: is my sister dead?

Remi: yes, i think she is. Lexi killed her then wrote a message for me on the wall. She said she was coming for me too.

He saw the worry on her face and if Lexi could scare off a cop like that then she was really a threat to everyone else who were defenseless..

He had his breakfast and the nurse came in with a receipt and handed it over to Remi.

Nurse: he has been discharged. Incase of anything let me know.

Remi smiled and the nurse walked out. Martin must have been her favorite patient because she gave him alot of extra care compared to any other patient.

Remi: I can tell that nurse likes you.

She said rubbing his arm gently like she was trying to get him to fell something.

Martin: you think so, but then again who wouldn't like me?. I'm a ladies man you know...

Remi: okay, i can see that...you bragging huh?

Martin: I don't brag. Everything about me speaks for itself.

Half an hour later Martin and Remi left the hospital as Remi drove him home in her car. On their way home, Martin called a guy he knew who fixed locks and he told him to go change his locks as soon as he could. Martin had his mind made up and Lexi,..he knew he had to choose between life and death. She was dangerous.

Remi: I feel like all these is my fault.

She said taking a sharp bend that almost threw Martin off balance since he was not wearing his seat belt. He could not because of the pain in his stomach.

Martin: stop that. Blaming yourself won't solve anything.

Remi: Lexi came after you because of me, then she went after Stella because stella couldn't allow her to see you,...again, that's my fault.

Martin looked at her but didn't say much. He flexed his seat and lay back...

Laura had gotten home late the previoust night and relaxed a bit before she went to her room to take a shower before bed. She stood in front of the mirror and removed her make up talking to the mirror and cursing Lawrence for not telling her the truth that day. She unbuttoned her blouse and walked away from the mirror and removed the blouse and threw it on the bed but before she could walk away she noticed a black strip on her top so she picked the top again and took a good look at it. It was a wire.

She scraped it off and took a look at it.

Laura: what is this?

She didn't know and she didn't know it was recording her either...

While still on figuring out what the wire was, she had the door open and someone walk in. The shoes sounded like women's shoes so she dropped the blouse on the bed and started walking towards the door when she heard glass break on the other side of the door, she froze on her tracks as the heels approached her room.

Who was there?.. there was no response. Just loud walking heels..

She tiptoed to the door and slowly opened it to see who it was and when she peeped, the lady threw a scarf on Laura's neck and dragged her out and swept her off her feet and she fell and when she attempted to scream, the scarf was tightened around her neck making it hard for her to scream or make any movement..
