KILLER WITHIN EPISODE SIXTEEN

Martin has been a thug way too long to know all the tactics used in handling guns and he knew Laura was carrying a weapon then again, Lexi had never spoken of any friends and especially Laura. Lexi never had friends because of her condition in the past and even though she was a beautiful soul back then. The few friends she had slowly stopped being present in her life and just like that, Martin was the only one who stood by her through thick and thin.

With the gun on Laura's head she raised her hand as a sign of surrender and Martin asked her to slowly get the gun from her bag and hand it to him.

She hesitated but Martin threatened to blow her head off so she slowly reached for the gun with one hand as the other remained raised in the air then she got it out and Martin took it from her then he dropped his gun from her head.

Martin: what do you want with Lexi?

He asked going around her and facing her.

Laura: Lexi killed my fiance, I am here because i want to know why.

Martin: with a gun?

Laura: you have one your self are you a cop?

he did not respond to that but he walked with both guns to the seat and sat then asked her to sit too and she did. A pain cut through Martin's stomach and he made some sound that made it seem like he was in pain.

Laura: are you okay?

She asked still seated on the couch but realized Martin was not when his white vest had a blood spot on it. She got up and went to where he was seated and removed his hand from his stomach.

Laura: you are bleeding, what happened?

She pretended to be worried looking around yo see how she could be of help. Martin did not answer that as he tried to compress the pain.

Laura asked where the first aid kit was and Martin pointed towards the kitchen area..

Martin: on the top right shelf.

He managed to say in between his pain. The pain came with a bad headache because he had not taken his medication yet.

Laura got the first aid kit then came back with it. She pushed up his vest leaving the wound open. The bandage had some blood on it. She gently removed the bandage and started dressing the wound as Martin was now lying on his back holding on to his head.

Laura: did you get this from a bullet?

She asked slowly wiping around the hurt area with a cotton wool trying not to hurt him.

Martin: no, it's not a bullet wound. It's a knife.

Laura: you were attacked by thugs?

Martin: no. I was attacked by Lexi. My fiancee.

Laura looked at him a bit surprised and when Martin turned to see the look on her face their eyes locked. She was quite surprised that someone he loved could do that.

She looked away and continued wiping the sorounding area of the wound with cotton she had now dipped in surgical spirit to kill any germs and he sucked his teeth because of the sting from the spirit...

Laura: sorry... That had to hurt just a little bit.

Martin: are you a nurse?

Laura: no I am not, but I have a bit of knowledge on this. I helped clean wounds in my father's hospital before I went to college.

Martin: that's interesting, cleaning wounds is quite disgusting and you must really have a good heart.

Laura smiled lightly as she wrapped the bandage around him...from the way they were taking, it looked like they had forgotten what she was really there for...

Banda drove to Gloria's home because that's the only place he could go and rant. He needed to know what was going on with Lexi and because Lexi had proven to be unreasonable and quite difficult to deal with, he thought Gloria could answer all his questions..

He drove to the parking after sweet talking the guard and when he got to the door, Fatima was not there to let him in so he ushered himself in and walked straight to Gloria's study where she spent most of her time when she was not out doing business.

Banda barged in without realizing that Gloria had two male guys whom she seemed to be having a serious talk with and when he stormed in they all looked at him

Gloria: Haroon!

Banda: hello gentlemen, Gloria I need to see you in private.

Gloria looked quite mad and if she knew Banda too well, he was not going to leave until he got what he had gone there for.

Gloria: can't you see that I'm having a meeting?

Banda: yeah I can see that but I need to speak to you right now.... Outside!

He pointed towards the door and the atmosphere in the room has become a bit unbearable because of the back and forth with Gloria...

Gloria excused herself and walked out of the study with Banda following her from behind. When they got to the living room she stoped and turned to look at him and gave him a hot slap across the face and before the second slap landed he held her hand..

Gloria: what was that really?

He let got pushing her off then Banda showed her his finger that had been chopped off.

Banda: you see this, it was done by your lunatic daughter. She didn't seem in her right state of mind even as she was talking to me.

Gloria looked at the bandaged finger then walked to the couch and sat.

Gloria: I don't have much time Haroon, what do you want?

Banda: where is Lexi?

Gloria: she is not here, I haven't seen or heard from her in days.. why are you asking about her, you want her to attach your finger back?

Banda: what is wrong with you?

Before he one could say another word, the door opened and in walked Lexi balancing her well shaped hips on her high and expensive heels and when she got to the living room, Gloria stood up quite surprised. Gloria could not understand the transformation Lexi had in the few days she had since she left the hospital. Martin was always taking about Lexi having changed but the Lexi she was looking at was definitely not her daughter... This one was quite bold and agressive...

Lexi: hello Daddy, hello mummy dearest.

No one responded so she stood there looking at both of them a bit confused.

Lexi: wait, did I interrupt an important conversation?

She asked looking at her father then her mother..

Gloria: what did you do to your father?

She looked at Banda's hand.

Lexi: oh that!

She smiled and turned to her father like she did not really care about the accusation that was made against her.

Lexi: how is the pain of loosing a finger daddy?

She asked walking up to him and what followed was a hot slap from Banda that sent Lexi falling on the sofa then Banda got to her and started strangling her with the other hand as Gloria tried to stop him by screaming and shouting asking him to let her go. She tried to stop him but he pushed her away...

The commotion and shouting had become loud that Fatima ran from the kitchen to come help the situation but Banda was stronger than all of them combined.

Fatima started shouting for help and the two men who were waiting in the study came rushing out and when they found Banda strangling Lexi, they used their man power to get him off her and Lexi started coughing.

Gloria: throw him out!

She shouted and as Banda was being dragged out, he couldn't help but shout back warning Lexi to stay away from his home and office or he would have to kill her himself.

Fatima sat next to Lexi soothing her and hugging her when Lexi got up abruptly and hurriedly walked to her room leaving Fatima and Gloria all confused in the living room and when the gentlemen walked back in, Fatima got up and started walking to the kitchen but Gloria stoped her.

Gloria: bring us some juice and snacks in my study and let no one else interrupt my meeting.

Fatima: yes ma'am.

She started to walk away and Gloria called her again.

Fatima: yes ma'am.

Gloria: if I see Haroon Banda in this house again, you will pack your things and go. Do you understand?..

Fatima: understood ma'am.

Fatima left and Gloria showed the two guys back to her study and before she could join them, she had a commotion in Lexi's room so she went to check before she joined the meeting..

Gloria walked right in since the door was open and stood by the door staring at Lexi who had not even noticed she was there.

Gloria: what was that about?

Lexi stoped packing her clothes and turned to her.

Lexi: what was what about?

Gloria: you chopped off his finger?

Lexi: yeah, I needed bone soup for my hangover and yes, I chewed his finger too.

Gloria: what is wrong with you, why are you acting like this?

Lexi: are you asking me that because you mean it or you just want to fill a page in your diary telling it how much you care about a daughter who doesn't give crap about you?

Gloria: don't talk to me like that, I'm still your mother.

She raised her voice and Lexi narrowed her eyes.

Gloria: what, am I not your mother?

Lexi: no. I don't know who you are, I lost my memory when I left that hospital because my mother would have checked in on me a bit more often and my mother would have noticed that I'm not okay and my damn mother would have welcomed me back home after a life threatening surgery that left me with a double me doing crazy stuff out there but are you even aware that I have changed?

Gloria didn't know how to respond to that so she put a few more clothes in her bag and closed her suitcase then dragged it to the door where her mother was standing.

Gloria: where are you going?

Lexi: far away from here and as for my father, he better keep his end of the deal because I will not stop going after him.

Gloria: what deal are you taking about?

Lexi: he knows and I've reduced the days. Let him know that and also tell him the next time I visit, I will chop more than his finger.

Gloria: Lexi!

Lexi: good bye mummy dearest!

She pulled out her suitcase and Gloria watched her walk away..

George visited vera at her place and being a Saturday, he had no business in the office so he thought of spending the day with vera and organizing how they were going to impersonate Thompson's and convince the clients about a virus they were yet to find and figure out how it worked.

The door bell rang and when vera opened, George walked in with some shopping and a can of icecream for her and they shared a kiss before she ushered him in.

Vera: ice cream... Mmh! this is a nice way of apologizing.

George walked in checking out her behind that fitted perfectly in some nice booty short.

George: yeah, though you don't have to be worried, we didn't do much.

Vera looked at him and smiled.

Vera: good.

She said sitting down in front of her computer and George sat beside her.

Vera hadn't slept much the previous night, one reason being she could not stop imagining what George was doing to Lexi in their night out and secondly, since she figured out that Laura could have known something they didn't.

Vera: did you get anything out of her?

George: no. She is clean. I don't think she knows anything about Thomson's death, our affair or about the virus. She is just someone who always saw Thomson and I in a club and had a crush.

Vera: on who,... you?..

George: yes, me..

She looked at him briefly then got up went to the kitchen and came back with a scoop for her ice cream.

George: so, where are we with Laura?

Vera: nothing tangible yet but it seems like she is looking for something that could be related to the virus. I'm keeping tabs on her, we find out what she knows, we kill her and take over.

George: it's funny you were Thompson's fiancee but you don't know as much.

Vera: what is that supposed to mean?

George: we couldn't be going after Laura if you had done a perfect job. It's crazy we killed Thomson only to end up going after Laura.

Vera: I don't appreciate this talk. Thompson was your friend too and if you knew what you were doing, you wouldn't be here asking me how far I have gone with Laura.

There was a bit of an awkward silence then George moved close to her and Laura gave him a disgusting look.

George: I'm sorry vera, just that...

Vera: don't touch me... I mean it....

Few weeks before Thompson's death..

Thompson was working on the chemicals when Lawrence walked in with a mask on his face. Thompson showed him to a table where he had some software in a small square like thingy that looked like a disc..

Lawrence: what's the outcome of this?

He asked dipping it in some solution like he saw Thompson do then put it on a flat surface for it to dry up.

Thompson: it's still far off from being complete. It has to be dipped in that solution at least three times in a day for at least two weeks.

Lawrence: then take it where, this thing looks dangerous.

He said hoisting it up and taking a close look at it.

Thompson: it is. Where it's going is not a big deal but you should know that I have two countries bidding for it. When I'm done, the highest bidder wins. Do you even know what that means and how much we are talking about?...

Lawrence: I don't but tell me, what will it be used for?

Thompson: this is a weapon. Whoever gets it gets to finish up the other country hence taking over it's super powers.

Lawrence: finish in what way?

Thompson: I will tell you that. Just not now....i thought you were smart, why do i have to give you details like a two year old?..

Lawrence: you really are a jerk...

Thompson: i know... Do your work buddy, don't waste my project..

Laura was done with the bandaging and she had also made him some soup. They had literally clicked and they had come from murder talk to bff kind of a situation.

Laura: here, chicken soup is good for you..

She said walking in with the dish in her hand finding a spot beside him.

Martin: you sound like my mother.

Laura: she prepared you soup?

Martin: yeah, when she was still alive.

Laura: oh.. I'm sorry.

Martin: that's okay. I miss her sometimes, if she were here, I would have avoided alot of things.

Laura: mmh, things like what?

She asked scooping the soup and feeding him...

Martin: like falling in love. Maybe she could have advised me otherwise,.. I don't know.

She fed him again.

Laura: why did she do this to you?..

Martin: I don't know. Lexi no longer has a reason for doing anything. She just acts, you know.. her mind tells her to do something and she does it without thinking twice about it..

Laura: wow!

Martin: yeah wow!..

Laura: she killed Lawrence I don't know her reasons but I think she might know something that she isn't supposed to know.

Martin: something like what?

Martin asked out of curiosity though he would have wanted to know what it was so that he could see how to help her, he still would have loved to..

Laura: my fiance was working on a project that I understand he stole from someone. I don't know if I can trust you but it's like Lexi knew about that project and she went after him. It's a puzzle that I don't know how to solve.

Martin: a project, she had not mentioned something of that sort.

Laura: some virus that's meant to finish off some super power country I don't know, it's just too complicated for my understanding.

Martin: a virus meant to finish off a super power country, wow that sounds like a movie.

Laura: I'm being serious Martin. Here, this is the last one.

She said giving him the last bit of the soup then she got up and took the dish to the kitchen and when she came back Martin was on phone speaking to Ian who had confirmed Lexi's location.

Laura waited for Martin to finish on the phone then she told him she was leaving for home and he allowed her to go though he had enjoyed her company and asked if she could visit some other time..

Laura: what if your crazy girlfriend finds me here?

Martin: I will handle her.

Laura: doesn't look like it after what she did to you

Martin: she caught me off guard but like i said, I will handle her...

Laura: can I have my gun back?

Martin: if you promise you won't go killing anyone especially my psycho girlfriend. I want to know why she attempted to kill me.

Laura: okay. I won't.

She smiled then gave him her hand for a goodbye handshake and he took it then said thanks as she took her gun and left...

When Lexi left her mother's house, she went to her rented house and after she dropped her suitcase, she took her purse, checked for her knife and called an Uber and waited for it fo get there as she quickly fixed herself some sandwich. She was hungry after all the running around she had not had time to seat and have a decent meal. The cab showed up a few minutes later and she got in and she directed him to her father's house knowing her father was definitely not home, not that she knew his whereabouts but she wanted to teach him a lesson for the stunt he pulled at his mother's house, trying to chock her to death and giving her warnings...

She paid the cab guy then walked towards her father's house and she knocked and Angie thinking it was probably her drunk husband, she opened and once she did Lexi stuck a knife in her stomach without saying a word to her then pushed her inside the house and pulled the knife then pushed it in her again and watched her fall on her back..

Lexi: your husband tried to kill me today because he wanted to attend a funeral so bad then i thought why not give him a funeral that he had asked for, I think you dying will be more painful, it will make him cry unlike if he killed me. He would feel no pain or have anything to cry about..

She watched her drag herself on the floor and she sat on the sofa watching her fight for her life. She was going go die..

Lexi: poor thing... you should blsme your husband for your death. I warned him that i would chop more than a finger but be did not listen. So sad you cannot say goodbye to your him but don't worry. I will do it for you.. Goodbye Angela..

She pulled out her knife out of her body, wiped it on her dress and walked away smiling to herself....
