Chapter 40Alex and Sandra arrived home with Siobhan. Alex transferred the cot into their bedroom. After he'd set up the video monitor, so they'd be able to keep an eye on her, he settled the baby down to sleep.
“Are you ready for a coffee?” he asked Sandra, while flipping on the kettle.
“Could you make mine a tea, please, Sandra replied. “I know it's still afternoon, but I think I'm going to need an early night. I'd be better to avoid the chance of caffeine buzz.”
“Not a problem, although I read somewhere there's more caffeine in tea than coffee.”
Alex busied himself in the kitchen and further debate on the subject was prevented when their doorbell rang.
“Who on earth can that be?” Sandra reached for the entry phone.
