Chapter 26After Mary dropped Steve back at the office, WPC Beth Saunders was waiting for her.
“Have you been briefed what this is about?” Mary asked.
“No, I was only told to come here to meet you. I'm really excited to be working with CID, even if it's only for a short while.”
“Don't get too excited, it's not that much different. Half of your day is spent filling out paperwork and most of what's left is carrying out research. I can't deny, it does have its moments, but when I say, moments, I mean the word literally.”
“What is it we're working on today?”
“Hopefully this will give you a flavour of the good stuff, because it's a complex investigation. A young Asian woman was found dead on Monday and we reckon it's almost certainly murder. The correct expression for us to use is unexplain
