Prologue
The world of Medeias is a mysterious, magical place, full of wonders to behold, all created by the almighty gods and goddesses.
A special bond of sisterhood prevailed among a few goddesses, Hecate, Aine, Selene and Gaia, all though not related, they viewed themselves as a family.
In a symbiotic collaboration, they created some of the most common beings in Medeias, each of them adding their special touch to the realm.
The goddess of magic, Hecate, decided to make a being blessed with magic flowing through their veins, creating entire bloodlines full of enchanting powers and by doing so, she created the witches and warlocks. Holding different types of magic, they use spells and herbs for potions to do their biding. Witches and warlocks live for magic, and they tend to stick together in covens or work for other factions of magical creatures as advisors.
The goddess of the sun, Aine, wished for her beings to be full of love for the sun and everything shiny. Her creatures would be called fairies. They were a fickle people who, unlike witches and warlocks, don't use spells, but have a natural form of magic flowing within. Their type of magic, gives them the power to control one of natures elements, fire, earth, air or water. Often viewing other races as lesser beings, they tend to stick with their own kind in large courts.
The goddess of the moon, Selene, wanted a creature with a close contact to the night and nature itself. A being bound by the moon, shifting between their human and animal halves. Not prone to using magic, the shifters are instead blessed with incredible strength, speed and healing ability, both in human and animal form.
The last one to decide on her special touch to the realm of Medeias was the goddess of nature, Gaia. Differing from her sisters, Gaia did not have the type of magic to create an entire race. Instead, she decided to bless the world, with her magic of nature. Making the seasons change, and embracing the world in beauty for all to enjoy.
The goddesses left their creations and the world, to retire to their own, where they kept watch of the stories that unfold together with the other gods.
The goddesses followed their own creations, happily watching how they evolved through time.
Each goddess, except one.
As Gaia could not create her own race of creatures, she first spend her days happy to see her sisters creations, but as the years turned to centuries, she found herself longing for the feeling of kinship with a creation of her own.
As her sisters watched Gaia become more and more elusive and isolating herself from the others, they grew worried for her, and decided to intervene.
And so came the day, where all the goddesses got together once again, to help Gaia make a creation of her own, each sister lending their magic to her. Preparing a single creature, with the beauty of nature, and the ability to do wonderful things. Due to her beauty, Gaia decided she would be known as a nymph.
Through their magic, the sisters each gave the nymph special powers.
Hecate gave her part of the knowledge of all her witches and warlocks, enabling Gaia's creation to know of all the herbs and spices and their different uses. Giving her the power of knowledge, way beyond that of any other mortal creature.
Aine gave her the powers over the elements of wind, water and earth, ensuring she would have more magical power than what any one fairy would ever posses. Making sure to leave out the power of fire, as Gaia feared the element, due to it's powers of destruction over her beloved nature.
Selene gave her the lifespan of her wolves, aswell as their healing ability. Therefore allowing Gaia to watch her creation over several centuries, as she flourished in life. Without the knowledge of her sister, Selene decided to ensure that Gaia would always have a part of her creation, and made one of her creatures the mate of Gaia's nymph, attempting to assure the lineage of the nymph would be continued throughout time, ensuring the happiness of her sister.
Thus this special creation came to be. More powerful than any other creation from the goddesses, having part of each of their powers. But nothing comes without a cost, and although all the power is within reach for the nymph, she has to earn it and learn how to harness it.
And so, the legend of the Gaia nymph begins.
