One Night Plus a Lifetime

Headache?

" Aria were did you go??....we where worried about you...we were about to call the police"

Callie spoke as soon as Aria walked in there small housing apartment.

she seemed calmer than she was last night.

When Aria ran out of the mansion, Callie tried to go after her but she was too fast. Callie and Meredith got worried looking for her, they did not know where to find her in Kingfolk city, Callie who was familiar with the city also had no idea where Aria could have gone too.they went back to the hotel with the hopes of finding her but after an entire night Aria never showed up , it was time for them to return in campus, maybe she had decided to go back there, they panicked when they did not find her and where about to call the police when she walked in.

Meredith went and stood next to her , she was feeling guilty about what happened last night , maybe if she had said more to Aria then she wouldn't have gotten hurt.

"Are you okay.??"

she asked ..Aria nodded her head.

"am sorry ...everything that happened-"

"its not your fault...its mine ...."

she interrupted her ,

Meredith did not know what else to say except hug her, "where have you been and-"

Callie stopped she looked at Aria from her shoes to the dress she was wearing she saw that those weren't the same things she wore last night, the dress looked simple yet she could tell it was very expensive. Aria never wore such clothes.

Callie decided not to ask anymore a lot had happened since last night and if Aria felt better she would ask then ,"i need to lay down"

she walked past them and went to bed.

1 Month later.

one month and some weeks had gone by and all Aria felt was numb, she was numb from the pain and from everything that happened was like a memory she never wanted to remember, if everything was going to keep repeating itself, her heart was going to keep breaking all she wanted to do was be numb from it all.Aria did not hear from Pete he never came looking for her, he never called or texted. the same with Devon it all ended just like that."Are you still sleeping its past noon?"

Meredith asked Aria. She had been sleeping a lot this lately . "Are you sick?,"yes i think i have a headache and that's why"

Aria answered."why don't you go to the hospital?"Callie who was reading on her bed joined the conversation."its just a headache Callie...ill be fine" Aria said and buried her face in the pillow. these past days she had been feeling awful and weak, nothing was making her active. She woke up feeling tired and even had to miss one class and slept all day, if she went to the hospital she would miss a day of studying and Aria already missed one class .she had to cover up for that despite her physical state. Callie had been observing Aria since that eventful night and the morning she returned, she had some theories in her head but chose to stay quiet if Aria did not want to talk about it then she was not going to force her, maybe forgetting was better for her friend, but she still felt like there was more Callie had a lot of experience when it came to a lot of things.she was about to insist on Aria going to the hospital when Aria quickly got up from her bed and ran towards the bathroom.Callie and Meredith looked at each other with questions on their faces, Aria could be heard throwing up from the next room. The girls walked towards the bathroom door.

"are you okay??"

Meredith asked.

Aria kept on vomiting and her felt like it was turning upside down from all the things that where leaving her body.she placed her hands around the toilet seat and heaved.her head started spinning after she felt like she was going to faint. It seemed her sickness was getting worse being sick sucks.She stumbled up and walked to the door after opening it her friends where standing outside waiting for her.

"I think i need to visit the hospital " she said.Callie saw how she was struggling to walk and helped her to her bed. Aria fell deeply asleep immediately.the sun had already set when she woke up. It was 7pm. She sat down and looked at her phone which showed 5missed calls from her dad.Aria called him back instantly.

"Hello Dad"

"Hello kitty...how are you in haven't heard from you in days are you okay??"

was she okay? No she was not.

" am fine Dad ...how are you?"

Aria did not want her father to worry so she lied.

"Why does your voice sound so low? are you sick? Don't lie to your old man"

her dad could tell just from her voice that she was not okay, it made her emotional she wanted to tell him that she was throwing up like a tap but she did not. If she did that man would be on the next flight to this city.

"no dad...am fine really ..i just woke up ..i stayed up all night studying so that's why ..am really fine."

she faked a laugh.

"Don't stress yourself so hard okay...make sure to rest too. Ill accept bad grades but not a dead daughter okay??"

her father teased.

"don't even joke about that Dad..i would rather send you my dead body than bad grades old man."

she joke back.

"foolish girl get some rest okay??"

"i will Dad ...take care of yourself too"

the phone hung up from the other side. Despite having slept for hours and hours, Aria still felt tired. Although she was a lot better than earlier her body still felt weak.

she left the building and decided to visit the school clinic. Aria did not think much of what could be wrong with her, she figured it was probably because of school stress and nothing more but she still needed a doctors consultation and prescribed medication for the headache.

along the way she saw Callie and Callie went with her, when they arrived at the school clinic it was already closed.

"we could go into the city and visit the hospital there"

Callie suggested

"is not far??"

the last thing Aria wanted was to be in a car. she was certain the motion sickness would make her vomit her lungs out. Meredith went out with some of her other friends so it was just the two of them tonight

"yeah but we can walk there ...it will be fun the weather is nice tonight"

Callie said while spinning around feeling the air.

"okay Cinderella ...lets go"

The two girls walked slowly all the way from the school to the hospital chatting and laughing along the way,

Callie was a good story teller and she had a lot of stories to tell, stories about her child, her family, her baby's father and everything else. Aria listened and laughed.Soon they arrived at the hospital Aria registered at the reception and stood in the waiting line to see the doctor.

"Being in the hospital gives me a weird feeling"

Callie said leaning her head on Aria's shoulder while the sat on the chairs.

"you are going to be a nurse and feel weird about hospitals...that will be interesting"

Aria laughed.

"my dream was to marry a doctor not work here okay.??....but we never get what we want in life...so i settled"

she said and pouted like a child.

"Fool you are better than any doctor out there"

"the doctor is ready to see you now"

a female nurse dressed in a white uniform told her. she breathed deeply and looked at Callie, Callie gave her a reassuring smile, Aria walked into the doctors office.

"what's your name?"

"Aria Remington , mam"

"What can i help you with.?"

a female doctor greeted and smiled at her sitting on the other side of the table dressed in a white coat and a pair on glasses.

"hey mam...i came in for a check up, i haven't been feeling well lately. My body feels tired and my head hurts a lot. Oh and i threw up this afternoon. It might be the stress"

she already diagnosed her self in her head before she even came here."i see...i hope you don't mind me asking,...when was the last time you had your period?"

Aria blinked twice at her question when was the last time? she repeated the question in her head

"last month on the 3rd"

she did not understand why the doctor asked at first but suddenly the realisation hit her was she? maybe suspecting pregnancy????

her heart skipped a beat. No no way.

"and when was the last time you where sexually active?"Aria felt as though the room was becoming smaller, she started to feel sweaty in her palms. "a month ago"

she spoke in a low voice .

"but i took a birth control pill within 72 hours "

she was now trying to explain that to herself more than to the doctor."Aria,....you know those aren't 100% effective right?"Aria's mouth was running dry and breathing became harder no way was she actually pregnant. No absolutely not she rejected those thoughts. It had to be stress or something else. She did take birth control and even if they weren't 100% effective she couldn't have the worst luck and the pill not work on her."Doctor i can not ....i .....i mean ....no you don't think that.......i just ....cant be ....no i .... am not.....how can i ....

no ....no"she could not form a sentence her words mumbled up in her mouth twisting her tongue. she breathed deeply to try and calm down. "but i never had any symptoms up until this week."

" Pregnancy is different in women other get their symptoms as early as two days and others as late as five months, there are some cases where some women never realise they where pregnant and only know when they go into labour....but still we cant be certain yet miss Remington....we have to take some blood tests in order to be completely sure ..have you tried any pregnancy testers??"

Aria never thought of buying a pregnancy test, she missed her period last month , it was not the first time because it was normal. she always had irregular periods ever since she hit puberty. and without the Symptoms she never suspected pregnancy.

"no...i did not"

"Okay ill have a nurse come in here take some samples of your blood so that we can test everything at once. We need to eliminate all the possibilities is that okay??"the doctor asked. Aria just nodded her head agreeing. she could not believe what was happening all she wanted to do was laugh. Laugh at herself and her stupid life decisions . If she was really pregnant, then her life would be ruined. And changed completely it was not something she wanted not now.

Once the procedure was done the nurse left

"we will have the results ready by tomorrow and we will send you a call of everything ....you will also be informed if you need to come back for more checks ups"

The doctor spoke once more.

"Okay...thank you"

she said and walked out the door with a heavy heart."what did the doctor say??"

Callie asked but looking at Aria's face it couldn't possibly be good news."she ....she thinks i am pregnant"

Aria said and leaned into her friend for a hug all her strength had left her she could not even stand straight. Callie was not surprised by this news she had suspected this already she just wanted Aria to hear things from a doctor if she had said something it would have been nosey unless Aria asked for her opinion she did not give it. Callie had been pregnant before she saw all the signs in Aria that she experienced too. She sat down and Aria sat down next to her.

"and if you are pregnant-??"

"then am screwed Callie...if i am pregnant

..oh no please don't be true. "

She buried her face in her hands .

"its okay Aria.....is Pete?-"

Callie wanted to ask if Pete might be the father but she stopped herself. She did not want to bring that man's name up especially when Aria was having a hard time dealing with this news.

Aria looked at Callie. Devon's face appeared in her head. He was the only man she ever got intimate with. If Aria was really pregnant then it had to be his child. Of all the people in this world she just happen to get herself pregnant by that stranger ."its not Pete"

she said shaking her head. Although that would have been worse, but was there a saint between the two. Its like picking between a devil and a demon. Callie looked at her with a million questions in her eyes "Callie....that night I left that party...i met a stranger...i have never been with Pete but on that night....i was with a stranger."Aria explained everything in details from the rain till the morning she found clothes and money that was left for her. Reality was now sinking and fear , fear of the fact she might really be really pregnant.
