To Surpass Dao chapter 2: System where have you been

Luo Ping managed to wake up the next morning and the ringing sound from his head had yet to subside. He ignored it and started to look around more carefully this time. The trees indeed did seem more different than those in his previous life and the air in the place seemed more comfortable to breathe. Luo Ping came from a modern city that had fully undertaken industrialization and thus pollution had reached its peak. 

Looking around the sky seemed covered up but the place seemed to have light, this is something that confused him even more. He looked in another direction and saw a route that seemed to lead somewhere therefore he thought it best to check it out. In the region, perhaps due to the trees being so high and blocking the sun, the trees present below only reached several hundred meters, and the little one’s Luo Ping saw seemed to reach a height of forty to fifty meters.

The more he followed the path, the more curious he become, although the path had been destroyed by some vegetation he could still keep up and managed to find another opening. The place had a waterfall that seemed to reach the sky, standing there Luo Ping felt insignificant for the first time. 

He moved more close only to discover that the place had some fish that seemed to jump out of the water from time and they could swallow him whole. He seemed to have realized he hadn’t eaten anything and continuing like that might prove deadly.

Luo Ping from observing the fish could imagine the type of creatures present in this world. That waterfall though seemed to hide something, and he could still imagine it from the novels he had read. 

Luo Ping had many complaints and the fact that he was too small being amongst them. He looked at everything and thought that once he had enough strength he could visit the waterfall but he knew that if he left this forest there is almost an impossibility of coming back. Or to say it might be difficult to reach this place as he assumed to be in the middle of the forest. 

Feeling thirsty but afraid to be eaten is the situation Luo Ping was in, the way some of the fish looked at him slyly is something he had noticed. They seem to be looking at prey that was about to deliver itself. Luo Ping was angry that a dish even wanted to scheme against him. He had tried cooking different sea dishes but the fish seemed very unique and unlike anything he had seen. 

Seeing that the little prey refused to get close to the river, some impatient fish jumped out of the water aimed at Luo Ping. He had kept some distance and even observed them from time to time since he knew from cultivation novels that in the water something else might be present and capable of leaving it temporarily. Luo Ping did not expect it to be a foolish fish. He kept standing nearly thirty meters away and some i***t decided to find trouble with him. 

Luo Ping knew that fish could only survive outside the water for some time and eventually die even this one that targeted him would be no exception. To motivate it to keep coming towards him he pretended to have collapsed and dragged himself away. It seemed to have no intelligence but just relying on instinct so it jumped from the water and found itself incapable of moving. 

Some distance from Luo ping and unable to touch him, impossible to return to the water it started to grasp. After half an hour of watching he approached the fish carefully, by probing if it died. In the end, the distance being close, he discovered it still had some breath left and attacked. He had no way of dodging and the fish bumped into him but also seemed to die in the process.

This time Luo Ping heard the ringing sound more clearly and smiled bitterly, asking in his thoughts, “System where have you been?”

“Ding System has been loading..”

“Ding!!.. Host has activated the system”

“Ding!!.. Host killed spiritual dragon fish”

“ Host can improve constitution by absorbing the fish…. Absorb?”

Luo Ping lying there had no way to move and nothing to do so only said, “ Yes”

The fish seemed to transform into spiritual energy and enter every part of his body. He remembered the MC of the perfect world created a perfect foundation as a kid, improving his physical strength to the limit attainable. He, therefore, decided to take advantage of this forest and improve his physique without having any special constitution. Once done he could then start to use the system to pile up bloodlines from different species improve it with experience points and once they reach the limit combine them for their advantages. At the end creating a new bloodline, as Luo Ping knew from the different novels, the dragon has physical strength and phoenix rebirth ability as well as speed. 

As he thought about it, his body was undergoing some changes and he also predicted that another foolish fish might jump from the water if he appeared again. Just as he predicted, another foolish one jumped and after some struggle that had him completely battered, he managed to use the system to absorb it. Then his strength had already surprised a child, to an adult man. He kept at it until the evening and the amount of strength he had reached a new level. He couldn’t compare to someone in the Qi condensation realm but had a strong physique.

He kept doing it for an entire week until the fish stopped jumping out. 

During this time he had also earned some experience points from fighting and killing the spiritual dragonfish. In the past week, the number of experience points kept decreasing drastically. 

Luo Ping also used the opportunity to check out the system opening package obtaining body cultivation technique and Qi refinement one. Luo ping focused more on the Qi refinement until he had reached the peak of Qi condensation to attempt using the body cultivation technique.
