To Surpass Dao chapter 3: Setting goals

1031 Words
He needs to increase levels by earning more exp points but the need for food might become problematic if he enters body cultivation. He planned to increase strength using the experience points he had, then use other methods to increase the points. Reaching the peak he can use the waterfall to improve experience points.  Luo Ping decided it would be advisable to improve strength but the process had to be put in place to avoid laziness. He assigned time to everything and decided to enter the first level of cultivation of Qi.  He knew that other cultivation methods existed and decided to enter the Qi refinement because of the benefits of artifact refining. Once he reached the level of gold core he would directly choose another direction and convert the gold core into something different from a nascent soul. In the process of making such decisions, he decided to utilize his experience points but before that thought of a novel that indicated that Qi could be refined many times and decided to try it.  Nine levels of Qi refinement if each level has five refinements could he have five different channels of qi. He immediately put the issue aside and began the process.  “Ding!!... host has used +100 points to enter level 1 qi refinement”  “.. Host used +100 points for the second refinement” “.. Host used +100 points for the third refinement” “..Host used +100 points for the fourth refinement” “..Host used +100 points for the fifth refinement” “Should I refine more Qi channels, maybe my strength can be high. Some novels even indicated that undergoing 15 qi refinements is common. How about going for about 25 refinements”. With a determined mind, he kept refining qi until he reached the 25th refinement. In the end, he remained at the 1st level of qi refinement and thus needed more exp points to proceed. He decided to check ou the body cultivation technique.  Reading through the cultivation technique allowed him to decide to increase the number of refinements. “There is the system what is the hurry anyway.” After having that thought he remembered being only two years and decided to refine qi until he reached five years and enter foundation establishment at six stay there until thirteen.  “Such a good plan.” Luo Ping thought, it was good to have a strong foundation and once he reached fourteen he could increase cultivation like drinking water. In the process he could even leave the forest and join some sect, making the elders of the sect think he was some young master that just escaped home.  “Three years in this place is a long time so I should just refine qi even if it five hundred times, I can absorb energy and improve my physique. Body cultivation should wait for till I reach twelve there.” Making exp points in the forest is easier, the danger involved however is too much.  Looking at the waterfall Luo Ping kept smiling, he could tell some fish stronger refused to leave the water. Learning new things could earn experience points too so he went near the water. At his level, dying is impossible even in the water, the fish can utmost give him very serious injuries that could require time to heal.  Though he had timed it was not necessary to go all out yet so he stood at the edge and any fish jumping out suffered serious damage. The experience points from them kept coming so he decided to leave them alive after obtaining points then resume refining Qi.  The practice continued for months until he even jumped into the water to fight. An increase in experience points allowed for him to achieve the required refinements in eight months. five hundred is a lot and the energy that kept circulating in his body too much. To make sure that the body could support it he had killed some stronger fish and absorbed the energy from them.  The water close to the waterfall lost its value thus he decided to ignore the fish. The waterfall itself seemed interesting but that idea was cast aside, after playing in the water for too long he spend another four months increasing the holding of breath underwater. The process managed to also generate some exp points for him once he could last for more than an hour he left the exercises.  The most important thing is increasing realm in the remaining two years he kept his punching exercises in the morning. The number kept doubling daily as he regulated breathing. The points, therefore, kept coming at an even high number and helped improve his physique too.  He decided to spend time earning points the other time from running around the forest and covering a distance in a radius of the waterfall every time to get information about the place he currently was. Climbing the small trees then the tall ones also came up in the process. Using the small trees for exercising, he spent another seven months and moved to the third level of qi refinement. The distance he covered kept increasing and the information he acquired kept increasing but only made him more curious about the region near the waterfall.  Soon he had spent another year and reached the eighth refinement due to moving even further and encountering some weaker beasts. Though considered weak he barely escaped and thus kept coming and looking for an opportunity to kill one. If he could then his refinements could be completed easily before the deadline otherwise three months left, it would be difficult to accomplish it.  He kept increasing the refinements with the daily activities but he still had almost half to reach the ninth level. He even thought if he could fight an individual monster he might lose but manage to withdraw.  The opportunity however becomes difficult to attain. The time kept decreasing and one day so he thought he had an opportunity. A beast looked stronger but he decided to try his luck, he imagined it could at most be a foundation establishment-level 4.
