To Surpass Dao chapter 4: A fierce fight

Without wasting time for others to arrive he jumped into action, something of a silly mistake from a transmigrator. The beast looked at him and seemed in no way panicked, or rushed to act. After making sure he was alone it also decided to end it quickly.

Both seemed impatient but for different reasons, the beast seemed to have restrained its aura to avoid alerting others to its location. Luo Ping just happens to be the i***t that got caught in its games. Being a transmigrator, he overlooked many aspects and jumped into a fight before understanding the opponent’s strength. 

“Let's end this quickly so that I can step into the foundation establishment” The more Luo Ping thought about it the more excited he became. He then started attacking the beast but realized that it suffered no injuries. The numerous refinements of qi couldn’t even hurt the beast. “ Did novels deceive me? Wait that beast seems to be mocking me?” 

Observing the beast he realized that he had forgotten to check out its strength and thus knew he messed up. Too much confidence is really a problem. He looked around and discovered a fruit almost ripening close to the location it had been sleeping.

“This beast had been guarding that treasure, it seems I have been too careless. Escaping from here is almost impossible and thus better to just put everything out.” Luo Ping knew fighting and taking advantage of the beast overconfidence was the only way out so he kept punching. Kicking and yet nothing happened so the beast's disdain even became more apparent. It just let the punches reach it and attacked once in a while so as to destroy the enemy without spending much energy. The idea was to let the fool keep wasting energy and then finish him off. 

Luo Ping could see it so he received injuries and kept observing for an opportunity to do some real damage. He had some sharp object in the system storage that could injure the beast but needed to observe it more. His injuries however worsened and the time the beast attacked him and relaxed he retrieved the object hitting its eye. The beast became confused and enraged and he hit the other and kept pushing it as it struggled from the pain. 

He then concentrated the energy from all the refinements on the object like he read in novels and hit the neck region. The beast started to lose blood more quickly and panicked. Fearing it could run he also targeted the legs on its back making it impossible to escape. He reached out and picked the fruit, threw it in the system storage before preparing to run. 

The beast clearly had yet to die, and some might arrive thinking of it he called up his courage and continued to attack mercilessly until it stopped moving and the system asked if to absorb he agreed as he ran off. 

He could hear some strong aura’s approaching and the more he moved the less they seemed to want to follow. Perhaps they assumed he was already going to die in that zone. 

He reached the safety zone and struggled all the way back to the waterfall and collapsed, fainting. He slept for several hours and woke up only to see numerous experience points piled up. The beast clearly had surpassed the foundation establishment realm based on the rewards. Killing a strong opponent usually adds more experience points and so he benefited much from it. His physique kept improving and reached a terrifying level from the energy absorbed from the beast. 

He then took out the fruit from the system storage and observing it carefully he could tell it was a treasure but ignored that and directly ate the damn thing. He was starving and the fruit turned out to be fragrant and the amount of energy it possessed, terrifying. The system started infusing it to his physique and experience points. Once done consuming the fruit, he felt hot all over and some impurities expelled from his body, thus he had to take a shower before going to rest. 

The next day he woke up early, kept the usual practice then increased his strength to the third level of foundation establishment. The most important thing being he also improved the level of the Qi refinement technique to the highest grade with remaining experience points then continued practice. The speed of accumulating experience also increased in the process. 

Currently he had only several days before becoming five years of age and decided to avoid unnecessary hustles before reaching the peak of foundation establishment. The aura of the beasts he felt made him determine that they could kill him in one blow even if he reached the peak of his current realm. 

He spent the rest of the time doing the daily exercises and got some pill refining techniques from the system that he utilized to practice and earn points. 

Failure also seemed to provide experience points and since he had to learn everything by himself he took some time but proficiency level kept increasing.The more he practiced the more he improved in proficiency for formations too. Time passed like that and he kept using experience points to increase cultivation or refining levels. 

During the ninth year he had reached the fifth level of foundation establishment and even improved in formations and alchemy to level 5. In this world alchemist, formations and other skills had levels that started from 1-9 then above it had different names but those individuals were only found in great sects. Minor sects only had at most level 8 alchemists and were proud of it.

Luo Ping decided that he would never expose being an alchemist lest strong enough to protect himself. Even a formation master otherwise strong individuals might turn him into a medicine bank slave. 

He also decided to never act in the good samaritan manner since one might end up rescuing an enemy. In douluo dalu based on Luo Ping Xia Wu’s mother rescued Bibi Dong but she came back to collect her as a spirit ring. Even setting sites on Xia Wu too, Luo Ping actually had no ill feelings for the woman he just thinks that don’t get involved in things that don’t concern you. If necessary to save someone make sure that you get assurances first and then benefits.
