Preparation 1

~Ezeriam~

When I got to the restaurant, I sat close to the window in order to have a perfect view.Time was running and the person I was supposed to meet hadn’t arrived. I waited for a few more minutes but still no one came, I got impatient as I was really starving and so decided to order something first. I called the waiter and ordered a few dishes before lazily looking at the screen of my phone to check the time. Soon I was served so I started eating and after I was done I ordered a few dessert. I waited for another extra 30 minute but still he didn’t show up. I rose from my seat after paying and left. When I got home,dad questioned me and I told him the person didn’t show up.Looking at dad’s face I saw that he was really anxious. I didn’t even want to talk to him anymore so I walked straight to my room,freshened up and went to sleep.

The next day I was ordered by dad to meet him but still he didn’t show up.This continued for day and the days turned into weeks and the weeks turned into years. And this made me happy because it meant there will be no marriage. But that happiness didn’t last long.Dad had received a from the old man from earlier that I should prepare because I would marry his grandson three weeks from now. This news shattered me because who was willing to marry someone who didn’t want to show his face to the public. What if he is paralyzed or ugly or blind,this things kept on popular in my mind. After I told Mia and Beauty they felt sorry for me but they can’t help me even if they wanted to.

I was so exhausted even though I shouldn’t. I carried loads of work just to avoid meeting Ezeriam. At first I was glad to hear that the daughter of the Scorpion family rejected to marry but that didn’t last long as she was replaced with another daughter of the same family. Grandpa kept on pushing me to meet Ezeriam countless times but I never showed up in any of it. I felt sorry for her because from the information I received from Godfred,she was being forced and always looked happy when I didn’t show up. I thought this nightmare was over when grandpa stopped setting up a blind date for us. Ring,my phone started ringing which caused my head to spin,I picked up the phone lazily and answered without looking at the caller ID. Yes who’s this, I heard grandpa old voice at the other end. Why didn’t I check the caller ID before answering, I asked myself. “Get everything ready you are going to marry Ezeriam three weeks from now”he mumbled. Grandpa is it really necessary to get married I questioned him. I’m still young so there’s no need for me to get married early, I added. “My words are final,it’s either you marry her or I take away the company from you”he said. I signed not knowing what to do,alright grandpa l will marry her only if we do things my way I said.“Alright,it is settled then”grandpa said on the other end. After the call ended I removed the tie around my neck and tossed it on the desk not believing I was getting married .Hours later I summoned Godfred into the office and asked him to arrange everything for the marriage. I also stated specifically that we were not going to hold any engagement party and therefore everything was supposed to be done in the registration room. After a long discussion I went out to buy a ring for the both of us . I also went to measure for the attire.
