Bad news

Finally the results were out and both Ezeriam and Beauty went to check and indeed they performed well. After checking the results Ezeriam went home in high spirit intending to share the news with her father. When she arrived,she saw an old man in his 80s sitting at the balcony with her father chatting happily. She went to greet them as a sign of respect and then excused herself elf. As she was going she felt a penetrating gaze behind me so she turned and saw the old man staring at her which made her feel uncomfortable.

Weeks after,George,Ezeriam’s father called for a family meeting.All of the family gathered at the living room to listen to the matter at hand.

Okay so,our company has not been doing well for the past two years and if this matter is not handled early we might lose everything the family had worked for.Luckily,the ancestors of the family heard my desperate cry and has intervened.

Writer’s pov

“Dad what are you talking about”Dorcas ask. Ezeriam also turned to look at his father not understanding what he meant by “our ancestors have intervened”. “Well the owner of NL corporation offered a huge sum of money for the hand in marriage of Dorcas”he replied.“what!!"Gladys and Queen(Dorcas) gasped. “Dad you know I can’t marry anyone except Mike plus there is a rumor circulating that he’s ugly,that’s why he doesn’t show himself”Queen stated.Ezeriam rolled her eyes at the mention of Mike’s name.“Then what do you suggest“ George “Since she refuses to marry the man why don’t we replace my daughter with Ezeriam“Gladys muttered. Ezeriam quickly rejected saying there’s no way she will marry that freak or whoever he is. “Deal it is then” George said not even considering how biological daughters feelings.Ezeriam stood up shouting “Why does it always have to be her dad. why do you always support them and not me.You were there when Queen stole Mike from me after seducing and sleeping with him knowing perfectly well that I was his girlfriend then.But what did you do,you there and said it was nothing so I should let go and leave him for Queen”.

Ezeriam rushed up stairs crying because once they’ve decided there’s no way she can escape her fate.With tears flowing from her beautiful blue eyes she took her phone and called Beauty,after talking to her for more than 30 minutes she hung up and then packed a few belongings into her backpack and then made her way to Mia‘s house. after spending a week at Mia’s place,she received a call from her father return home before the end of the day. Left with no choice she returned home and prepared for the blind date her father had told her about the moment she got home. After dressing she went to the restaurant where they were supposed to meet.
