Joe’s pov I had always considered Thomas to be my best friend. We had been through thick and thin together, and I had always trusted him with my life. But lately, I had been noticing that something was off. Thomas had been acting strange, and I could sense that he was hiding something from me. I tried to brush it off, thinking that maybe he was just going through a tough time. But the feeling persisted, and I couldn't shake off the sense that something was wrong. It wasn't until Martha started acting strange too that I began to piece together the truth. She had been distant and preoccupied, and I could tell that something was bothering her. At first, I thought maybe she was just stressed about work or the kids, but as the days went by, I realized that it was something more. Then I decided to check her phone and I saw countless calls between her and Thomas and a lot of cleared and deleted text And then it hit me - Thomas. I remembered how he had been acting strange, how he had been around Martha more often than usual.I felt a knot in my stomach as I realized the truth. Thomas, my best friend, was having an affair with my wife. I couldn't believe it. I felt like I had been punched in the gut, like my whole world had been turned upside down. I didn't know what to do, how to process this information. Part of me wanted to confront Thomas, to demand to know why he had betrayed me like this But another part of me was scared, scared of what I might find out, scared of what might happen if I confronted Thomas. So I invited Thomas over for dinner the tension was palpable at the dinner table but I summoned the courage then i stood up to confront him As I stood there, frozen in indecision, I heard Martha's voice behind me. "Joe, what's wrong?" she asked, concern etched on her face. I turned to her, my heart heavy with emotion. "Nothing," I lied, trying to keep my voice steady. But Martha knew me too well. She could see the pain in my eyes, and she knew that something was wrong. "Joe, tell me," she pressed, her voice soft but insistent. I took a deep breath, trying to find the words to tell her what I had discovered. But before I could say anything, Thomas walked into the room, a smile on his face. "Hey, guys," he said, oblivious to the tension in the air. I felt a surge of anger, but I kept my cool, trying not to let Thomas see how much he had hurt me."Hey, Thomas," I said, trying to sound casual. But Martha knew better. She could see the anger in my eyes, and she knew that something was wrong. As the three of us stood there, the tension between us was palpable. I knew that I had to confront Thomas, to demand to know why he had betrayed me like this. But as I looked at Martha, I saw the fear in her eyes, and I knew that I had to be careful. I didn't want to hurt her, didn't want to make her feel like she was caught in the middle. So I took a deep breath, trying to calm down, trying to think of what to do next. "I need to talk to you, Thomas," I said, my voice firm but controlled.Thomas looked at me, a hint of curiosity in his eyes. "What's up, Joe?" he asked, his voice casual. But I knew better. I knew that Thomas was hiding something, and I was determined to find out what it was. "I need to talk to you about Martha," I said, my voice firm. Thomas's expression changed, and for a moment, I saw a flash of guilt in his eyes. But then, his face smoothed out, and he looked at me with a bland expression. "What about Martha?" he asked, his voice neutral. I took a deep breath, trying to stay calm. "I know what's been going on between you two," I said, my voice firm. Thomas's expression didn't change, but I could sense a tension in his body. "What are you talking about, Joe?" he asked, his voice innocent. The But I wasn't having it. I knew that Thomas was lying, and I was determined to confront him. "Don't play dumb with me, Thomas," I said, my voice firm. Thomas looked at me, a hint of anger in his eyes. "What's going on, Joe?" he asked, his voice cold. And with that, the gloves were off. But before I could say anything, Thomas spoke up. "Joe, I think we need to talk about this,"
