Meet Eve

My name is Eve or should I introduce myself as kitty? I'm 17.

I have overprotective parents. 

I have no freedom, I can't go out without mom bombarding me with questions. I can't go to parties, it's not like I get invited anyway.

I wear glasses which doesn't help my case.

last year I almost drowned to death. Some idiots thought it was funny to steal my glasses at the only party I was ever invited to. my half-blind ass fell into the pool. imagine that you're partially blind in a deep pool with little to no experience in swimming.

You're sinking deeper and deeper keep drinking water trying to stay on the surface. My head was bobbing up and down. My heart was beating rapidly in panic. My legs and arms too tired to bring me back toward the surface. Every cell in my body was screaming for oxygen and everybody just stood there laughing and videotaping the loser drowning.

A feeling of dizziness invade my head leaving me weak, this was when I gave up trying to come back to a life that clearly doesn't want me. I left myself fall further and further into the darkness.

I lost consciousness and let the darkness swallow me whole.

I don't know what happened after that. All I know is I was at the hospital when I came back to consciousness, my mom was next to me with dried tears on her face.

I never asked what happened after, because all I wanted to do was forget that awful night. I never stepped close to a pool or the sea or anything deeply felt with water for that matter but it still doesn't stop the nightmares I get every time I close my eyes.

every time I close my eyes I'm back to that night, back in the water, drowning all over again. every night on repeat. unending suffering I'd give anything for it to stop. anything.

In case you were wondering that's where the name kitty comes from.

Not only my dreams were constantly reminding me of that night, but I also have to deal with everybody at school calling me kitty.
