Death was right behind me. It was coming so fast like a hurricane. The wind blew past me as I navigated my way through the woods, seeking escape - if only I would be granted one.
Was the moon goddess seeing what was going on? She probably wanted me dead too. Help was far, and I could feel my body breaking down to the point of collapsing, but I must live. I must find a place for safety.
A happy, peaceful, and influential family was suddenly ruined with just the daughter, who held herself high, alive, but seeking safety. That was the life I was living.
'Please grant me this request.' I silently prayed to the moon goddess. They were closing up on me.
I wanted to die. My parents and family were killed, so why should I live? I don't deserve to be alive. I don't deserve to be alive while they were all dead.
"Please live-" That was mother's dying wish for me.
It became a spell and I found my legs moving at the command of that wish. My brain was screaming for escape and all I wanted to do was run from death and live.
Would it be possible? I have nowhere to go or who to help me. Even the moon goddess has abandoned me.....
My legs were wounded and they were growing numb. I was shot with a wooden bullet. If it had gone into my heart, it would have been the last night of my life. Wooden bullets are the werewolf's nemesis.
I ran out of the woods, with a hand on my knees, while wincing in pain. They were close by. I looked ahead and sighted a black car parked by the other side of the road. The road was quiet and lonely with no passing cars. That packed car was my gateway to hide for a while, but the Alpha and his warriors weren't stupid. With my injured legs, I had no choice.
If they catch up with me, then so be it.
I limped to the car, opened the door and fell in, hurriedly shutting it while breathing heavily. I rested my head on the headrest, trying to calm my racing heart, but it did no good.
Taking my eyes to the front seat, a short but loud scream escaped my mouth. I quickly covered my mouth and my eyes widened. My heartbeat went from beating fast to almost bursting out of my chest.
"Who are you!" I demanded sharply.
"I should be asking you that. Who are you and what are you doing in my car?" He slowly turned, and his gaze fell on me. His eyes iris turquoise, beautiful and smokey eyes, staring deep into my soul. His black hair was long and fell to his shoulders, while half part, from the front, was tied into a small bun. His nose was straight and pointed. His jawline was sharp. His lips were well-defined and wide.
A perfect example of a god on earth, or rather, the fallen devil ready to destroy every living being.
I swallowed hard and dropped my hand. Before I could reply, I sighted Felix scrambling through the dried woods and his eyes fixed on the car.
I gasped and grabbed the stranger's clothes. "Please help me! Please, drive away and save me."
He rolled his neck, making a crackling noise before he took his eyes back to the road. "Why should I help you?" He deadpanned, his voice filled with dread and void of emotions. "You should leave my car."
I shook my head and joined my palms together, with my eyes wet from tears threatening to spill out. "Please, help me this once. I will do anything you want. Please!"
"I don't want anything from you. Get out of my car and I won't repeat myself."
Felix was approaching us and the man wasn't willing to help me. I was doomed.
The tears fell down my cheeks as I drew closer, not ready to let it go. "Please save me. He would kill me. I will leave immediately we are out of here. I promise. You just have to drive away," I pleaded, but he shook his head and tightened his hold on the wheel.
"I am not helping. I don't help anyone."
"Please, I beg you!" I cried, shutting my eyes. I need to obey the will of my mother to stay alive.
"You said you would do whatever I want?" He suddenly asked, forcing my eyes open. I stared at him for some seconds, knowing he had something going on in his head. I had no choice but to nod my head in acceptance.
"Anything."
He smirked and turned the car on, giving me some relief, but it never lasted. My body was finally failing. I couldn't feel anything and my brain shut down. I tried to keep my eyes opened, but it suddenly felt heavy, as if the world was resting on my eyebrows.
I closed my eyes and tried to open them so many times, but I could not anymore. Slowly, my consciousness was like an empty dark hole. My body seemed to be floating in the air, moving freely on its own. Darkness took over completely and everything shut down.
"How much will I earn if I hand you over to Felix?" I heard the stranger say before I finally gave in to darkness.
