Chapter 36Steve waits for me in his room when I arrive fifteen minutes later. I sit with him through a vexing silence, neither of us talking, as we wait for his test results. It takes a better part of the morning to hear from the doctor. Steve tells me he wants me with him when he gets the results.
Doctor Wilson arrives, and the look on his long face tells me he comes bearing grave news. He asks Steve if it is okay to talk to him in front of me.
