Episode 1
Miri blue eyes gazed over the files on her bed, her long blond hair falling over her shoulders in damp waves. This was the worst part about returning from a mission, the paper work. Walking over to her dresser she placed her towel in the laundry basket and pulled on her underwear, black jeans and a black short sleeved top, getting ready to take the files to her parents office. She carefully glanced over the report one final time as she started to dry her hair. She could not allow mistakes if she wanted to prove she was ready to progress to bigger missions.  The mission had not been difficult, if anything it was the same report she had written for the last six months. She had been out scouting for possible locations where the organization she worked for could create the next safe haven for the families of abducted children.  Miri’s parents, Anna and James had created the group called SOCA, Saviors of child abductions. Her mother once had a sister called Sarah but she had been taken as a child, after that happened Miri's mother devoted her life to creating this organization to fight back. When Miri’s father first appeared in the picture he was working under her mother but soon they worked together to build it to what it was today. They fell in love and had two children, Miri and her younger brother Caleb, who also worked in the organization.  Miri’s family had left in the early hours of the morning on a mission in London, a nine and half hour journey by car from their base in Scotland. Good thing they had taken the chopper, Caleb's car sickness rivalled even the best dose of food poisoning and they were not due back till late that evening depending on how well the mission went. Supposedly someone had seen a sighting of a missing child that was on the system and with no other leads, her parents had decided to go. Caleb was desperate for some action and begged to go to, at the displeasure of Miri’s father who wanted some time with his wife. They were exceedingly busy running the organization, that time together was scarce but her mother agreed Caleb could go. Miri saw them off then had gone to prepare her own mission for the day, knowing she would not be able to go back to sleep. With her hair dry she felt confident in the overview of the report. It read that the location she scouted had been destroyed without a trace, just like every place they had scouted in the last six months. She sighed with frustration running her hands over the papers, someone was actively trying to stop them from helping the poor families who had lost their kids. Probably the same people taking the children.  She had started active duty at the age of 18 after basic training, that was three years ago and the cases had doubled. Her parents had prepared her for this life, Home schooled in strategy and battle trained to a fine point. Friends not in the group was never an option so she looked up to her superiors and had good relationships with them all. With the extent of this training Miri just wanted to get out there on some big cases but her mother was adamant that she would not allow it. Miri knew her mother worried over her, still saw her as a child because of her own trauma growing up and even though she could take down her teachers without much effort, it did not change her mind. The whole Organization knew Miri would be a valuable asset in the field but even that could not sway her mother mind.  Putting the papers in a folder she left her room on the top floor of the building. Her boots echoed down the corridor as she made her way to the stairs. Descending down 5 flights she strolled along the maze of corridors with ease finding her way to the wooden double doors of the main office. Opening the doors it was eerily quieter than usual, being a Sunday. Sunlight streamed in through the large windows around the room. Moving between cluttered desks she made her way to the separate office at the back of the large room, she beeped in the code and opened the heavy door into her parents private office, remembering the homely smell made her feel safe. She loved her parents' office, it had a cozy feel with a big fireplace and large bookcases where she had spent many hours as a kid while her parents worked.  Immediately she knew something was wrong, the hairs on the back of her neck rose as she adopted her fight stance. Scanning the room with cautious eyes she noticed her father's desk had slightly shifted to the right revealing a hidden button in the floor. Frowning Miri advanced with silent footsteps towards the desk. Apprehension burned through her veins as she knelt down to investigate. All of a sudden the creaking of wood and the scrape of stone on stone filled the air, Miri jumped to her feet just in time to see the old fireplace turning in the wall. She swiftly moved to hide behind her mother's desk next to the fireplace, where she would get a better view hopefully without being seen. Questions flooded her head. It must be a secret room her parents created but why was she not informed. What were they hiding? Trying to keep her breathing even she heard subtle footsteps getting closer. Miri’s blue eyes darted up in alarm meeting a pair of sharp silver eyes mirroring her alarm. She jumped back reaching for her twin blades stored in her boots. The large figure wore a hooded cloak and was clutching some files. Miri could tell the figure was male by the way he carried himself. During her quick analysis she recognized the stance of training in his movements but could not see any weapons on him. They circled each other and she could see the filing cabinets in the secret room behind him were open and in disarray. “Something peaks your interest in our files I see '' Miri spoke with forced confidence, in all her life she had never heard of someone breaking into the building, let alone getting to her parents office, clearing they had ticked off the wrong people because their group was unknown to the public and if this unknown man knew about a room she did not in her own home, he clearing must have good intel. The man stayed silent and waited for her to make the first move, he seemed to be calculating her. “Well you can’t be after just any files if you are in this particular office, but I think you know that '' Miri stated waiting for a reaction to confirm her words but got none.  Her patience wavered as she lunged forward eager to bring this man down. Her blade rang out as it locked with another that appeared in his hand where the files had been. She leapt back shocked, questioning where he had pulled that from and where the files were, he was fast or maybe he could materialize objects she thought to herself. She had not seen it earlier but of course that creepy cloak of his could easily conceal a number of things. She cursed herself for being stupid enough to think it could have just materialized, she was going to have to be vigilant. Miri backs the cloaked man into the secret room then pounces again, hoping the extra space will help but he expertly pushes forward and deflects her attacks knocking her into a shelf lined with vials of dark liquid, they shatter on the floor and evaporate. Coughing hard Miri grunts and charges again but he was quicker, disarming her. The two blades clatter to the floor as Miri recovers her balance, worry presses her mind as she dodges his persistent attempts to knock her out, wanting to make a clean escape. Swinging low to the left she grabs one of her blades and swipes at his legs cutting into his calves before rolling out of the way as he growls in pain moving towards a clear space.  Miri pauses as she sees him pull a small golden orb out of the cloak. “What the hell is that '' she exclaimed, getting close enough to reach her second blade. The orb glowed with a warm golden light, Miri sensed something was off with this man and this orb he was holding definitely seemed out of the ordinary. She had never seen anything like this before. She wondered if her parents had in their many years of service and what they would do in this situation, should she inform them to come help.  That thought was quickly eradicated when she realized if she took down this infiltrator and got hold of the orb, her mother would have to allow her to progress her missions for her good work. Curiosity took hold as she slowly crept up behind the man. The man was hunched over distracted by the orb, whispering a sentence of words Miri could not understand. All of a sudden bright light emitted out of the orb, the air around them began to vibrate and shift. Miri could not hold herself back from this mystery as she seized hold of the man's cloak. He cried out in shock at the extra weight as the two of them vanished into the ether.
