The Bridge We Burned

Ahvi's POV It's been months since I cried because of Lorein. Is it because I have moved on already, or is it because I got too busy with life that I don't have the time to think about him? Maybe in the latter part, our school has been hosting a lot of events, and we have no choice but to attend due to the incentives that our professors gave us, but then, if we do attend the said events, we would have to bring our reviewers to study because the given date for our exams are the day after the event. I'm currently fixing the bag that I'll be bringing to school today. I have been trying not to over pack my things. It's just that the things that I usually bring with me serve a purpose, and it's hard to leave them at home. As I contemplated whether to bring my portable fan or not, I suddenly heard my phone ring. It was Gianna. "Hello?" I said. "Hello, where are you?" Gianna said. I don't know why she was asking me this, it is still pretty early, so I have plenty of time to commute to our school. "At home, why?" I said, confused. "We have class on our Farm Tourism, you're late!!" Gianna said. Oh s**t! I did not open our group chat last night due to exhaustion. "I still have 40 minutes, I think I'll get there by then" I said, worried. "Hurry up!" Gianna said, then she hung up. After hanging up the phone, I hurriedly checked my bag to see if I had my wallet and a make-up pouch inside. After seeing them, I closed my bag then hurriedly got out of our house and waited for the bus. When I finally got onto one of the buses that came to the terminal, I opened my tablet to read my notes just to be sure because our prof might ask questions about what we had discussed last class. It was 8:50am when I got to school. I was practically running, since the building for my class was far from where the entrance is. When I got to our classroom, I sighed as a sign of relief, since our professor had just got inside the room as well. "Just in time, Ms. Valentine, I was just about to lock the doors. Go take your seat" Mr. Lennon said. I hurried and sat beside Gianna. I really thought that this day would be chill. I was wrong. My day was just starting, but I'm already exhausted because of all that running I did just now. The rest of the day went as usual. The good thing I read while riding the bus was that I was able to answer the questions for our recitation and a surprise quiz today. I mean, I wasn't able to perfect it, but hey, a pass is a pass when you're a college student. After our last morning class, we had a three-hour vacancy, so my friends and I decided to eat first at a cafeteria before going to our usual hangout spot. Just as when we got out of school, my friends started teasing me like first I was confused, but when I looked around, I saw the reason why they're like that. It was Lorein, looking at me. No one really knew what happened between us and why we ended things between us. Finally, only my friends were the only ones that knew about us. Well, if you're in college, and you're in a relationship with someone in the same department, news spreads like wildfire, and there are issues that will make it harder than it already is. I was about to continue walking when, suddenly, Lorein walked towards me. "Ahvi, why did you block me? Lorein said. " I already told you why, now if you don't mind, I'm leaving" I said. "Go ahead, since you're good at doing that" Lorein said, sarcastically. "You wanted to talk? Okay let's talk" I said, pissed. I took his hand and walked away from my friends so that we could talk alone so no one would bother us. "You asked why?" I asked.
