First Supper

An hour had passed. Evellyn was putting her earrings on when she heard a light knock on the door. "My Lady, may I come in?" "Yes, come in." She replied to Lydia without looking at her, instead, she scanned her reflection in the mirror and her lips moved upwards with satisfaction. Her entire appearance resembles a budding red rose. Beautiful, sensual, and enigmatic all at the same time. A fiery red silky long garment clings to her body. She chose the right color that brought out her jade-like skin. The dress fit perfectly on her body and it accentuated her curves. Anyone would feel an intense desire to touch and hold her smooth slender waist firmly. She looked extremely seductive. In her long golden hair, she wore head accessories of gold intertwining vines with small red flowers on each side of her ears. Her smooth and milky white skin was already perfect and her lips were shades of natural pink. Added with her electric blue eyes that can make someone daze for a moment. After checking her appearance one last time, she asked Lydia about tonight's dinner. "Lydia, is supper ready?" When she heard her lady's voice, she suddenly woke up from her trance. Lydia then realized that she was staring at her lady for a moment. She was a bit embarrassed that Evellyn caught her gaping. Lydia composed herself and proceeded to her duty. "Yes, My Lady. My Master is also waiting for you. Please follow me to the dining hall." Anastasia nodded and said, "Lead the way." Inside the dining hall, a man was already sitting with his legs crossed and was sipping his wine casually. When the sound of unfamiliar footsteps echoed walking towards the hall, his hand that was holding the glass of wine paused on his lips and his eyes flickered. She is finally here. He had been waiting for quite a while now. Although he was annoyed by her tardiness, his keen eyes could not hide his anticipation. He could not wait to see her terrified face. The thought of making her legs quiver from fright would be the main dish for him tonight. In his eyes, Evellyn is a weak and delicate woman pretending to be brave and mighty. Just like an ass wearing a lion's hide. He strongly believes that he need not have made complicated schemes to have her under his power. He thought that just revealing his true form would be enough to shred her pretense into pieces and establish dominance between them. And so he thought. Tonight's the beginning of her nightmarish life in the mansion. He is bent on making her life difficult as long as she lives. And his first and welcoming gift will be tonight's supper. 'Hmmp. Let's see. How strong your facade is, Little Lass.' Suddenly, the heavy door made a sound of opening. "Master, her Ladyship is here." Lydia suddenly announced Evellyn's attendance to her Master. She led her toward her chair at the opposite end of the table. Facing the man who was waiting for her. The moment she emerged from the door, he was dumbfounded. He was certain that he was the kind of man who was not easily attracted to physical appearance. However, at this moment, he is astonished by her beauty. He couldn't believe that this lass was ravishing and, on top of that, she exuded a unique allure, especially her smile. She looks surreal. "Good evening, Zelion." Evellyn greeted Zelion with a velvety voice while showing her sweetest smile. Zelion couldn't keep his eyes from roaming around her body. Her red dress was hugging tightly around her body. Showing her every curve, especially the silhouette of her supple breast and behind. They were eye-catching. After realizing his strange behavior, he swiftly feigned that he was not affected by her beauty at all. He suddenly broke the silence by clearing his throat. "You too, Evellyn." Evellyn made her way toward her seat. While Zelion secretly watched her every move. The way her slender waist bends and her graceful posture. 'This lass is a seductress. ' He silently commented. He has lived for so long and met countless beauties and temptresses in the past. Not even once. He had never felt a carnal desire caused by a mortal before. Even if he saw them bare and naked, it was nothing to him. Yet, he only saw her once, fully clothed and just sitting in front of him. Zelion felt uncomfortable. He felt his mouth dry. Along with that, there is also something within him that keeps on telling him to keep his distance from her. At the opposite side of the table, Evellyn, who was sitting comfortably, took a good look at the man in front of her. 'Hmm. Is this his true form? His long curved-up silver horns stand out from his pitch-black hair. While his bloodshot eyes gazed at me curiously. It is indeed an intimidating sight. I have a feeling that he is planning something. Such a waste of his energy. Unfortunately for him, I'm not that easily susceptible to intimidation. Though, I could say he is quite a sight to see. ' Even though he is an archdemon, a rotten to the core being, which is enough to make any person tremble from fear. His handsome face could make every woman obsess about him and would beg on their bended knees, asking to be his woman. Then, Evellyn moved her attention to his aura. Evellyn noticed a dense and purplish fog around him. She couldn't believe her eyes that she was sitting in front of an ancient archdemon, face to face. Too dangerous ... But she likes it. The more perilous it is, the more she is drawn. She is now more determined to tame this evil entity. Evellyn smiled more brightly. She's now putting a mark on her prey. Zelion thought of something to distract his mind from wandering about. "You mentioned in your letter that you are Mariella's granddaughter. Tell me, why is she not with you?" "She has passed away already." "How about your parents? Are they still alive?" "My mother died after giving birth to me. My father left us too. Why do you ask?" "Just to check your background. I've been told fraud is quite rampant nowadays. Who knows if you are one of them?" "I know. You just want to know if I'm hiding anyone who is also a Nightingale's bloodline. You may rest assured that my mother was the only child of my grandmother. And I was born with no siblings." "I couldn't care less whether what you are saying is true or not." "That goes for you too." Zelion was irritated by her tone of speaking towards him. He put his drink down on the table and arrogantly leaned his back against his chair. He refused to be talked down by this puny human. Zelion will never back down. "I learned that you came from the neighboring Empire, Sorcha. Now that you are going to permanently stay in the Ceraun Empire, you must learn and adapt quickly in this place." With a nonchalant attitude towards her, it sounded very inhospitable. She understood the meaning behind his words. He is telling her indirectly that she must learn and adapt on her own and not bother asking for his help with any trivial things. 'Such a cold-hearted demon indeed'. Evellyn suddenly chuckled. She looked straight, her eyes smiling at him. "Oh don't worry. If I find myself having a hard time fitting myself in this unfamiliar place, I'll definitely... ...look for you and unhesitatingly use your assistance." "You are too bold for your good, My Lady." Zelion's face suddenly became sour. "I'll take that as a kind compliment" Evellyn replied while moving a strand of hair back behind her right ear. He was unable to rebuke her. Zelion clenched his fist. He wanted to flog her now on the table. And then an idea hit him. 'Let me see how far your composure and gutsiness will take you.' Zelion called the servants to start the meal. The maid and the butler then served the evening meal on the table. The aroma of the food wafted across the hall, a mouth-watering smell. You will feel hungry just from smelling it. However, when the food arrived in front of her, Evellyn's bright smile disappeared. With a grave face, she stared at her plate. Still processing the kind of food that was placed in front of her. Zelion noticed the changes in her expressions. While she was staring blankly at her food, an evil grin slowly appeared on his face. He looked at Evellyn with amusement. Zelion was waiting for her terrified scream to fill the silent room. As opposed to what he expected to happen, Evellyn gracefully sliced a piece of the most hideous steak she had ever seen. And heartily sent it inside her mouth. Zelion's face froze when he noticed that she was not bothered at all. 'Was not she disgusted by the food earlier? Why is she digging into it now?!' Evellyn was munching all of the food like it was an ordinary meal. His plan has now become a failure. "You..!" He harrumphed due to his frustration and took a large gulp of wine from his glass. 'You're tough, huh.' He scowled at her. Unfazed, Evelyn continues to eat the food provided for her. They dared to serve her human meat. If it is deliberately concealed, it would be unrecognizable, but it is not the case. They intentionally served her the human meat intact. An eyeball that was carved like a bulb flower sat on the silver plate together with two slices of meat that were the cheeks of a person's face. Evellyn slightly lifted the steak and there... was an ear! There's an ear clinging to the steak! This should be considered a meal in hell. Normally, in situations like this, everyone would scream and complain about the food. Anyone would have vomited at the sight of it. However, Evellyn is not just anyone. She has already seen so many horrible things, this is just nothing to her. Though it looks horrendous compared to the dish Evellyn had tasted a long time ago when she was living in Sorcha. At that time, the meat was served indiscernibly. Evellyn's grandmother thought that she must be prepared for worst-case scenarios that she might encounter in the future. A variety of dishes made from human meat were served to her every once a week. Thus, she didn't think it was repugnant but instead familiar. 'Whilst their aesthetic for food is ugly, the taste is not bad.' Hence, she happily chewed on the food, not even a single trace of vexation on her face. Finally, she finished her meal. While she was tidying herself by wiping the sauce from her lips, she heard him say something. "So, Evellyn how's your dinner? Is it to your liking?" With a smirk on his face, Zelion thought of an evil plan for her. Zelion may have failed in his first attempt at scaring Evellyn, but it does not mean that he would lie down easily. Evellyn looked him straight in the eye while giving her the most convincing appraisal of the food she had just consumed earlier. "Not bad actually. It tastes reasonable." Then she shifted her sight to the two servants who were standing obediently at the corner of the room. "Really? That's good to hear. Job well done, Rowan. Don't forget to serve her Ladyship the same kind of meal for her .... every day." With an evil grin, he praised Rowan and glanced at her with a challenging look. Rowan, on the other hand, who didn't have any clue the meaning behind his master's words, perfunctory replied. "Definitely, Mas-" However, the heavy sound of cutlery on the table cut off Rowan's sentence. Evellyn abruptly stood up and cast Zelion a solemn gaze. 'Looks like someone's scared now.' Zelion thought that she was done with acting and she'd show her discomposed self in front of him. He might even see her crawling and beg for mercy. He'll be able to establish dominance in the manor. Yet, Evellyn calmly approached him and unexpectedly sat on his lap. Zelion was stunned and stiffened in his chair. Her actions were not within his expectations. Zelion's body became highly sensitive. The warm and soft body of a woman sitting comfortably on his lap. Zelion could hear the sound of her heartbeat and the smell of her gradually wrapping him like an embrace. When Evellyn put her tender hands on his chest and shoulder, Zelion panicked. He suddenly wanted to push her off, but unexpectedly his body did not cooperate. His hands were firmly holding Evellyn's delicate waist. Unable to shake her off, Zelion's attention moved toward her countenance. Her blond hair smoothly flowed down beside her face like a curtain. Evellyn's round electric blue eyes stared at him, like hypnosis. They're so close, that he could even inhale the same air she is breathing out. Because of this closeness, his mind was split into two. The other was thinking about how attractive and breathtaking her face was. While the other mind was busy enjoying the physical intimacy of their bodies. Relishing the soft and supple feeling of her behind resting comfortably on him. She's like melting lava that's making him feel so hot and making his palms feel sweaty. Seeing Zelion's flustered face, Evellyn felt a surge of pleasure. His apparent reaction aroused her interest in teasing him even more. Evellyn suddenly leaned closer to him, her mouth beside his right ear. Her breath unexpectedly ignited a sea of fire below his abdomen. Oblivious of what she had caused, she added more fuel to the fire and whispered something. "Actually, I'd rather have you as my meal every day." Then she gave him a good lick on his ear and a giggle enveloped the enormous dining hall. Thereafter, she left him drowning in a fire. She walked out the hall with a victorious smile and Zelion lost thrice this evening. Zelion was left sitting alone. A few minutes had already passed, yet her scent still, lingered beside him. She smelled so good and the words she uttered in his ears were even mind-boggling. Added by the warm and slimy tongue of hers that touched his ear earlier. That moment was unconsciously carved inside his head. It was unpleasant, but surprisingly, he liked it. It was his first time feeling something after being touched by a woman. She's the first. Which confused him so much. Zelion forcefully shook away all his strange thoughts and composed himself back. He then suddenly realized that the lass was making fun of him. And now, he's pissed! He was so annoyed that the wine glass and a bottle of wine on the table suddenly shattered on their own. The contents of the glass trickled down from the table and some of it stained Rowan's coat, who was standing nearby. The shards of the wine glass were scattered everywhere. Adding color to the pitch-black floor as it glistens with the moonlight coming from the window. "Master ..." Rowan wanted to say something to his Master but he was reluctant to do so. He was afraid he might blow his anger towards him. "Clean up this mess! I'll retire now." Zelion then stood up and hastily walked straight towards the door. Silence filled the dining hall. Rowan and Lydia were also speechless about what had just happened. Their ladyship was unexpectedly bold. She just openly flirted with their Master. 'Master has finally met his rival. I assume.' Rowan then called upon Lydia to help him clean the table.
