“What are you doing here?” Laila found herself asking the man who looked indifferent and cold as he stared at the woman who still stood still as she had a look of shock on her face as if she had seen a ghost. He noticed that her eyes seemed puffy and messy as if she had been shedding tears. Instead, he pointed at the seat across him and motioned for her to have a seat. Laila couldn't imagine that the person who had first visited her in prison was none other than her father's rival and her own nemesis. He had a bad reputation for being ruthless when it came to business and she remembered that Gabriel had given her father a very hard time while he was alive and agile. Now, he was here to see her? She thought as she sat across him while he looked at her for a while. “I'll get you out of here” He said instead while Laila scoffed. She was denied the best lawyers that could have helped her with her case and now, he wanted to help her out? They weren't even close. He was her enemy! What the hell was this man talking about? Laila thought as shock overwhelmed her as she stared at the man whose sharp, hazel blue eyes seemed to pierce through her. However, Laila was pretty mad that she could not see through his intentions. It was not just possible for a billionaire to come in and want to help her without getting something else in return. Was this some sort of a business transaction already? Laila thought as her heart raced in fear. “Listen, I do not think that we have any business for you to help me get out of here and if you want to, I want you to know that my fate has already been sealed here and it's not possible” Laila said as she tried to think past what her husband and stepsister's betrayal. She was spending a lifetime in prison and the least that could happen was for her to live as if nothing else mattered even though the memories of what happened was hard to leave and even caused a siege within her each passing day. Gabriel's piercing eyes were fixed on her instead as he stood up, maintaining his posture. The more he stared at her, the more it seemed like his eyes seemed to pierce through her causing a hole on her body. “Let's see what happens before the end of the week” He said instead, turned around and left while Laila scoffed as she watched the man leave. Not taking his words to heart, Laila was handcuffed and taken back to her cell. However, it didn't take up to two days before Laila was truly set free despite the judge's order. As soon as she came out of the prison's gate, Laila was surprised still to see that a man whose chiseled features made him stand out as he was dressed in an expensive Italian suit on dark sunglasses and had his arms crossed as he waited for her. It was none other than Gabriel. Her heart skipped rapidly as she stood still for a while. He had saved her and even came for her again but what if he had other intentions against her? She couldn't afford to fall into the trap of a man who was ruthless. However, the moment Gabriel caught sight of her, he could not deny that his heart skipped a beat. He had fallen in love with Laila the moment he met her with her father. However, he had been too shocked to realize that she was married and so, had to maintain his stead. When he heard of her family's betrayal towards her, Gabriel knew that was the perfect time for him to show himself even though they had no sort of relationship between them. With each steps she took, he watched his weakness come closer. His heart skipped rhythmically as he wondered where to start from. He knew she wanted some explanations and with just few strides remaining between them, a black van sped across her and before he knew it, a gunshot was fired behind her. With eyes widened in horror as if witnessing a nightmare come to life, Gabriel caught her hurriedly before Laila fell to the ground as tears streamed her cheeks as she watched the van sped away. She felt a searing pain in her chest as her vision blurred slightly but it didn't take so long before Laila realized that the car was too familiar. Often times she had seen Justin with some other few persons in the car and subconsciously, she had memorized the plate number. Her heart shook in pain as anguish filled her when she found out that it was none other than Justin who must have done this to her. “Please hang in there. I promise you that I will save you” Gabriel said hurriedly as his heart beat. He couldn't afford to have a woman who just lost her father die in his presence. Instead, she shook her head as another tear dropped from her face. She couldn't believe that she was dying. “Why did you come to save me?” She whispered. No matter how much she thought about it, it just did not make sense. “I love you. I have always loved you” Gabriel said with his face contoured in anguish as he held her with trembling hands. He could feel his chest heaved with a silent painful cry the more tears streamed from her face. “That was why you helped me?” She asked with a painful expression laced on her face. Her heart shook in pain to have discovered that in the moments she was dying was when the ruthless and cold man of the city proposed to her. “So please hang in there, huh?” She heard him say faintly while her body shook from pain due to the bullet in her body. “I can't. Thank you for coming though for me. I… wish I had known this better” Laila said weakly as she stared at him. She could see how pained he was and how he was struggling to keep it in as a man and at that moment, Laila knew that Gabriel truly deserved her. Why then did he come at this moment? She didn't get a chance to know what true love truly meant. She had fallen in love with the wrong man and it cost her life. With her heart filled with pain and regret, Laila could not believe that she was dying without avenging her father's death and her wrongfully charged crime against her. Now, she was dying also. With breath unstable, she released the grip and slowly released her hands as tears streamed her face weakly. She could hear the echoes of Gabriel but she couldn't hear anything because she was already in a world of her own. However, before her eyes flashed a gentle rustle of wings that carried the scent of rose petals with a masterwork of serenity face and her skin as smooth. Her eyes shone like stars as she stared at Laila while her hair strand that seemed to move on their own accord. She looked like a goddess because no one was as perfect as she was. “Laila?” She called softly. With pain in her heart, Laila stared at the woman intently. “What do you desire?” The goddess asked again. Laila's heart was filled with anguish as she remembered everything that happened. With a tear filled eyes, Laila began : Please give me another chance to punish the people that caused me to be in this position. And I wish to live a quiet and happy life including my loved ones” “Consider your wish granted” The woman said almost immediately. Just like a dream, Laila suddenly snapped her eyes opened. However, with confusion and shock laced on her face, she was surprised to see that she was in front of an hospital as she sat on a nearby bench wondering what was going on. However, just as she looked downwards, she was surprised to see that she held a medical report. Staring through the report, her eyes widened in shock. “I'm pregnant?”
