Jennifer's reign of terror

Few weeks later

Zara focused mainly on her school,she didn't let anyone get to her. She ignored khloe and Brian alongside anyone that tries to hurt her with their words. TeeTee had gone back to school. Zara felt that her mother didn't want to be saved. So she just let her be. The house has been hot for everybody. Jennifer derives joy from mocking Rita whenever their husband and Zara were not home. Zara hasn't said a word to anyone in that house in weeks. It was few days to her waec, Zara was home studying when she heard Jennifer shouting on the house help. Her mum had gone to work. She tuned them out and continue studying.

On her examination day, she woke up early,prayed and dressed up. Her mum dropped her off at school...very few of her classmates were writing waec with their seniors luckily for her max was part of the very few. They both revised and sat for the exam.

Months later, Zara had finished her exams and she also sat for jamb and scored 290,she had "A" parallel in her waec.she was very happy. She informed her mum who showered her praises.

Her father asked her about her school,and insisted she discards her results and rewrite both when she gets to SS3, she disagreed , mike then says he won't be responsible for her university fees. Her mother stepped in and said she will pay her daughter's school fees herself.She got admission into leadcity University in ibadan, one of the best universities in nigeria. To study law. her mum paid her fees, got a private room for her in her hostel because she knows how her daughter loves her personal space. Zara noticed her mum was loosing a lot of weight,her flawless skin weren't spotless again,she had eye bags and gets easily tired. She asked her about it, but Rita dismissed the question and changed the topic.

Jennifer had given birth to a bouncing baby boy and named him Williams Micheal jnr. Jennifer made the house a living hell for Rita. Zara and TeeTee pleaded for her to leave the marriage but she said no. Rita wanted Zara to leave home and not bother about her... she wants her daughter to be able to achieve anything she wants without holding her back. Zara aspires to be a lawyer. And her mum and sister were solidly behind her. Mike doesn't even care about them anymore. He only cares about Jennifer and his baby boy.

As Zara was about to leave home for her university life,she cried because she would miss her mum and she won't be there to take care of her and keep her company. Her mum told her not to worry that she would always come to visit her whenever she's less busy. Her mum gave her a lot of beautiful and expensive clothes from her boutique, she bought lot of provision and all. They both went to the airport with her mum's driver. another driver was already waiting for them in ibadan.

The journey was short, immediately they got to Ibadan, Rita's other driver was waiting for them, the driver arranged the bags in the car and they zoomed off.they were held up by traffic at tollgate ibadan,just few minutes to the school. Zara was anxious. Her mum held her hands and told her everything was going to be okay.

Very few minutes later, the driver drove towards the university gate. Zara was in awe.. the gate was painted in blue and white. armed security men were at each gate post searching cars and letting them in. Soon, it was their turn. The security personnel searched their booth and asked what their reason for coming in respectfully. Rita answered calmy saying she brought her daughter to sort out her registration and resume school. The man bidded them well and told them to go. Zara came across a big basket ball field with students wearing basketball jerseys, playing basketball... As they were going,they came across the big Adeline hall,they turned to the right and headed to the Senate building... They all saw beautiful buildings like the school library,school hospital,boys hostel,the school field, faculty of arts and faculty of education. Later they got to senate building which happens to be the place where she'll sort out her registration , accomodation and the rest. She and her mum entered the building. She saw lot of students with either their mum or dad. She saw different students with different fashion sense. All lined up, she carried her folder which contains her credentials and told her mum to have a sit while she sorts everything out. She joined the queue. She paid for her accomodation and tuition using her mum's ATM.

2 hours later, she was done with all her registrations both the school registration and her accomodation. Except her course registration because she'll have to go to her faculty to check the courses she's offering and come back to register. Then they left the senate building to secure a room for her. As they were going, Zara saw different students. Soon,they got to the hostel. With the direction of a security man. They went to meet the matron in her office which was located in enterprise building. The woman was in charge of giving rooms to students. Zara presented her accomodation registration to the woman and the woman gave her a nice private room at camp david 1. The matron took a liking to Zara. Her mum gave the matron a bundle of five hundred naira note. The woman thanked her and told the school help to direct them to the hostel and gave Zara and her mother her number.

Rita instructed the help to sit in front. The driver zoomed off while the woman gave direction. The hostel was right behind enterprise building. They all alighted,the help and driver assisted them by offloading the car,taking all her luggages upstairs to her room. They all entered except the driver. Her room was a medium size room painted in pink,two windows,a door that leads to a bathroom and toilet. A student sized bedframe was there and on it was a new student sized bed. Her luggages were placed on the floor. Her mum gave the help money to help her sweep the room. They both went back downstairs into their car and went to ShopRite which is located in ring road. They bought more snacks and provisions, buckets,blanket,duvet a standing fan,a reservuer and a mini fridge etc. And stopped by at a restaurant to get food for both of them and the driver.

They drove back to school. The help had already arranged the room,swept and mopped. Rita had her sit on the bed while Zara arranged her room. It was already 4:30pm her mum couldn't go to Abuja that day because she doesn't like night journeys. She booked her flight for tomorrow and said she would just sleep in one of her shortlet apartment in ibadan.(she is into real estating,which her daughters insisted she invests in,now she has lot of estates in her name which her husband doesn't know about). She helped her daughter arrange her room and decorate it. She went some more money to her, prayed for her and she went to where she'll spend the night. Zara hugged her and cried. Later she took her shower and wore her night gown. She FaceTimed her sister and mother later that night to check up on them especially her mother to see if she's okay. They talked for hours till they slept off.
