What a lovely day. The sun is warm, the flowers are blooming, the scent of the water that came from the river beside us, the sound of the tree leaves playing with the breeze. The adults—mom, dad, my uncle and his wife—were preparing the food and starting the fire for the barbeque. My two brothers and cousins were playing with the ball, while my two best friends"sisters"and I were walking, chatting, laughing, and enjoying the colorful view in front of us. After we enjoyed our time together, we went back to the barbeque spot. When we arrived, I hugged my dad he hand me his drink and said "I love You butterfly happy birthday" when I started to take a sip I heard my mum shouting my name, "HARTLEY!!" She was screaming as a result of what had happened.I looked up and she looked far away from us. A few seconds ago, she was near us. What happened? Then I heard the sound of my brother calling my name too, "Hartley! Wake up, sleepy head", that was Noah, my oldest brother,"your alarm woke the whole block up and you are still deep in sleep. Wake up". That was my little brother Joey, "ugh, you interrupted my dream I want to sleep" I said while I pulled my cover over my head, then I felt two bodies crushing me. "Get your fat asses off of me, you two heavy punks. I am going to kill you" I shouted as I stood up and threw the pillow at them. We wrestled a bit, and then they left my room. I laid down on my bed and tears welled up in my eyes. I wish it wasn't a dream. I missed him so much. My thoughts were interrupted by the sound of my phone. I picked it up and I saw my besties video calling me , " Hey birthday girl, how was your morning?" That was Sia, "Happy Birthday, Girl." and that was Elanor. They always video call me in group, so both of them can annoy me every single morning, noon, and night. "Morning babies, thank you. Well, I was dreaming about our last trip with my family three years ago when my beloved mom and those two little brats called brothers woke me up by screaming from downstairs and jumping on me. That was the best start to my 25th birthday, wasn’t it? " "You deserved it you sleepy head." All three of us burst out laughing. "Wait what you were telling us?! That you dreamt about the trip? wasn't that the same dream you dream of each birthday each year from three years till today?" Elanor said as she now realized what I said. "Yeah, it was," I answered with a bit of sadness in my voice, "and it ended the same as the last ones?" "Yes, I've been hugging dad and sipping from his drink and I woke up, it is killing me" before I could even finished my sentence i burst out crying. "Hey Hartley, stop please. It is your birthday today, and we are sure he doesn't want you to be crying on this day. " Elanor said, and I knew she was going to cry too, " He was like a father to us too. We miss him, but you have to be strong. You are the eldest of your siblings. They need you. Your mum needs you." Sia declared, well, she was the strongest among us. "I know but I can't help it. There is one thing that makes me strong and that is you standing by my side. Sooo I want to see you here in 20 minutes max" "Okay girl, see you in 20, love you," they both said in unison, to which I replied, "love you both," and hung up the phone. I went to the bathroom to take a shower. When I was in there, I drowned in my thoughts, remembering how every year my father would bring me a birthday card and place it on my night stand on the side of my bed, so the first thing I saw when I woke up was that card with a photo of me with my birthday cake from the year before and always special specific words no one knew but us. Suddenly, I heard sounds in my room. I opened my bathroom door and I couldn't see anyone there. I thought that I was hearing things. I finished my bath and went to my dressing room to pick up an outfit when I was surprised by my besties . "Hurry up, we need to get breakfast before we go" Sia said, ". Woo hy to you too" I replied with sarcasm , "I'll be ready right after I pick up what to wear. " I resumed, "Oh you silly girl, we already picked your outfit." Elanor laughed, Yeah, those are my friends two crazy girls. They picked a denim short with a black crop top and black sneaker and i lift my hair in a messy bun and put some blush and mascara. My name is Hartley Morgan. Today is my 25th birthday. What is special about 25 years? Well, I will be the new CEO of my family's company, Dream Houses for Interior Design. Why me, not one of my two brothers? That is because they weren’t interested in it and each one of them studied a different major. Noah is 23 years old and works as a sous-executive chef. A few years later, he will be a chef and open his own restaurant with our cousin, Joey, who is currently in college studying computer science and is 21 years old. Sia studied accounting and finance and will be our company accountant. Elanor will be our HR; she studied business relations at university. After all, I need to give these two sensitive positions to someone I trust and who is more trustworthy than my two best friends. After a few minutes, we went downstairs to find my mom cooking us an amazing breakfast of pancakes, bacon, eggs, waffles, and the most important item, coffee. "Oh, I really need that." I sighed and picked up my cup while I was taking my first sip, I was surprised by my brothers and friends, who I don't know how they got away from my side without me noticing them, entering the kitchen singing "happy birthday" and holding my favorite mango pie and chocolate cake that my mom made. I was shocked, happy, and more importantly, I felt blessed to have them in my life. I blow off the candles, cut the cake, and we all sit down after taking some pictures to eat our breakfast. After we finished, the girls and I went to the mall to shop for the party tonight, but what I didn't know was that they had already picked up some outfits for our first day at the company as well. It was a dark blue blazer with a white dress that was so short but long enough that it was above the knees on two fingers, and a gorgeous dark blue sneaker. With two watered eyes, I hugged the girls and said to them, "I loved the outfit. I love the way you know me better than I know myself. Thank you guys, " "Boss, we adore you." They both said, They have been there for me through all of my highs and lows and they never get tiered of cheer me up and be my support "The boss loves you too, babe." I replied, opening my arms for a massive hug, "You're my bad girls, and I'm lucky to have you." We giggled as we hugged one another. Sia whispered, "I'm sure if your dad was here, he would be so proud of you, sweetie." Her words went straight to my heart. It squeezed me immediately with a bittersweet pain. I have missed him terribly, and I hope he will. I hope her words are true, Dad. I hope you are proud of your little butterfly.
