Chapter 16 - Little Girl

1383 Words
It was so cold, so, so, so cold. Andy wore two shirts, a purple coat, sweatpants, and boots. She could hear the snow crunching beneath her feet. She had a brilliant idea. She launched herself into the snow and laid down giggling like a child. She started on a snow angel when something cold hit her hard in the face. She shot up on her feet ready to fight someone. When she met a pair of cocky dark eyes. It was Jax. What was he doing here? Did he follow her outside? She was by herself. Nobody but her and the most hated person, Jax. He was an asshole. She hated him. "Did you like that little girl-" He began to say when Andy swung her arm like a batter playing baseball and hit Jax square in the face with a snowball. He laughed. "Nice you got a good throw. Did you play any sports?" "...yes..." She answered. Puzzled by his question or maybe the fact he was talking to her. "Yeah, I did too." He said, looking off to the woods like he was reminiscing about something in his past life. "Cool." She said coldly. She was uncomfortable now. She thought it'd be best to go back inside. But Jax was trailing not far behind her. Then, suddenly, heavy arms wrapped around her waist and he pulled her close to him. He breathed in her ear. "...You're nothing, Andy." She struggled in his grasp and spun around, breaking his hold on her waist, and planted a knee in his gut. Jax startled rasped from the impact, a look of hurt on his face. Then she tripped him. He landed in the snow. She took this chance to straddle him, and she punched him in the face. "Fuck." He groaned. Andy finished by getting him into a blood choke. "You asshole. I'm nothing?" She laughed a hollow laugh. "Don't try that again." As that left her mouth, he easily broke from the chokehold and got on top of her, pinning her down. She was stunned. Of course, he was a lot bigger than her. Well, that was an understatement. He was huge. The biggest in the group. But he was dumb. She was too proud to admit he was stronger than she was. "You sure are cocky, Andy. Even with your self-defense classes and training in MMA, you can't fight physics. I'm a man. You're a weak little girl." He sneered. He was right. She was a lot smaller than he was. "So, get the f**k off." She barked. "What do you want from me?" "To prove a point." He laughed. "That you are nothing but a little girl. You're f*****g weak, Andy." She wouldn't show fear. She wasn't afraid of this 180-pound grown-ass man. She wasn't. "Okay, you've proved your point now." She said, quietly. That was enough to crush her pride. What more could he do to her? Her father taught her how to fight. How to beat a man if he harassed her or did anything wrong to her. But now all that training is useless. It had its use in high school. But now, facing this muscled-up guy that was so much bigger than she was made her nothing. He was right. She was nothing. He had her hands pinned above her head, and his weight pressing down on her stomach. She was trapped. But her father told her there was always a way out--an opening! There had to be one. She was so angry. So, humiliated. Her pride and anger growing blocked out her fear. She instinctively lifted her head to his and rammed it like a bull into his skull. There was a loud grunt as he backed up off of her. There was blood dripping down his forehead. "Damn, you." He groaned, holding his forehead with his blood-covered hands. "Don't mess with me again." She said, hatefully, bolting for the cabin. "Oh, you sly little-" He chased her down like a mad motherly cow who lost her calf. Andy was just now regretting going out this far into the woods. She was all alone. Well, alone with Jax, that is. Shit. s**t. s**t. She was fast, but Jax matched her speed. He was right on her trail. * Everybody was inside today sitting at the hot fireplace warming up in their winter clothes. But Blade, observant as he is, notices two missing people. "Well, does anybody know where the heck Jax and Andy are at?" He spoke up. He stood by the couch near the coffee table full of mugs of hot cocoa. Cherry had the idea of making some for everyone. She was waiting to hand Jax the special hot cocoa she made him. She gave him extra marshmallows, but he was nowhere in sight. "Yeah, I'm wondering the same thing," Cherry said, a frown on her puckered lips. She put makeup on just for this occasion. She had on a winter makeup look. Then she wore the cutest sweater dress and high-heeled boots. "Yeah, I think Andy went outside to explore the woods..." Nixon responded, looking up from his textbook. "I-I was going to follow her but she said she wanted to be alone...so..." He trailed off a worried look on his face. He realized it'd been morning when she left. Now it was near noon. "s**t," Zane said, not called on. "Jax went to the woods too." Then everyone looked at one another with a knowing look. "Don't they hate each other?" Angelica asked, with an innocent look plastered on her face. She had her red hair down in waves at her shoulders. She looked pretty. Zane noticed it. He shook his head, shoving the thought back. Right now, Andy could be in trouble. * "Can't we call it even?" Andy hollered back, panting, sweat drizzling down her face. She was tired, cold, and afraid. The adrenaline rush she felt earlier was gone and replaced with the cold reality. Jax could kill her. He could. But would he? He had already tried hurting her. Suddenly, there was a low growl coming from behind her. Jax, she thought, but no, it was more of an animal. "Oh, we are both fucked." Jax whispered. He closed in the small gap between Andy and him and pulled her into his arms. "Ew get off-" She started to protest when he covered her mouth and placed his index over his mouth using the well-known sign language that meant being quiet and he said, "shhh" She hated this more than him hurting her, and chasing her down. But now he was protecting her? What the f**k or was she his shield and armor? Yeah, that made more sense. Andy followed Jax's eyes and gulped. Oh no. There was an alien. Three of them in a pack of some sort. Red eyes, green ones, and black. "Be still, stop breathing so loudly," he complained. "You can let me go now." She whispered. "No, not yet." He said, pulling her and him behind a big evergreen tree to hide from the aliens. She glanced up at him. She tried so hard to muffle her laughter. He had a clump of dried blood on his head. His hair was now sticking to it. He so deserved what she thought. How the circumstances changed so quickly. She is running from him now, both of them running from aliens. How the cycle worked. Like the food chain, and predators chasing down their prey. "Right now we have two options: we wait for them to leave or we leave quietly without the aliens noticing to get the others," Jax muttered. "Or you stay here to keep an eye on the aliens and I go get the others," Andy smirked. "No, you're not leaving me here by myself." He glared. One of the aliens perked up and looked at the spot Andy and Jax were just in. "Yeah, let's get out of her," Andy said. Jax nodded at her. He grabbed her by the hand and led a snowy path in the opposite direction to the aliens. "Is the hand-holding thing really necessary?" Andy asked, annoyed. "Yes, I don't trust you." They both moved with stealthy steps, Jax brushing over the footprints they left behind.
