The Dog and The Crocodile

213 Words
Once there lived a dog named Mittu. One day he was feeling very thirsty. He went to a river to drink water. There was a crocodile living in the river. The dog was afraid to get in to the water to drink. So that he cleverly kept himself as much away from brink of the water as possible and lapped the water with his tongue. The crocodile said to the dog, " Hey friend, why do you inconvenience yourself by standing at a distance from the water? Why do you come to the water and drink conveniently.? It is my desire to be your friend and to converse with you." Hearing the words of crocodile, the dog replied that , Oh! What a great affection you have for me..How happy would you feel if I get in to your mouth? That is why I stand at a distance from the water and lap it with my tongue." Thus the moral that we get from this story is that we should avoid bad company. Associate yourself with men of good quality,if you esteem your own reputation for it is better to be alone than in bad company. Keeping bad company is like being in a germ infested area. You never know what you will catch.
