Due to the heavy snowfall, Phil drove slowly up College Avenue away from Atherton Hall, past the Mall toward Burrowes Road. Approaching the intersection he downshifted, gently tapped the brake, and negotiated a smooth right turn onto Burrowes.
A quarter mile down the road, he made a skittish left onto Pollock Road and left again into the ice-covered driveway of the SPO house. As the chapter vice-president, he used a designated parking space in the rear of the old house. He slid the roadster into it, turned off the big engine, and set the parking brake.
