" I said no Tierney! Either you go with the Harlow's as your guardians or not at all!"

" This is so unfair I can take care of myself and their son is such a pompous ass"

She sighs " I know okay but this is what I require that or no Nationals for you or Maleficent"

" Okay.... okay fine I will do it"

she nods and I walk away going to load up my horse. My name is Tierney Martin I am a grade A barrel racer for the PBR Rodeo circuit I am preparing to go on a tour to make it to the national finals. Being 16 I am only allowed to go if I have a guardian my parents can't take off work so I am going with Mr. High and mighty and his parents.

I load up my horse and stock my Tac room getting ready for the long road ahead.

" I don't see why you have to do it dad!"

"Because it's the right thing to do she is an amazing barrel racer and her parents can't do it this year."

" Yeah but she is..."

I step out from my Tac room and he stops I turn to his dad " I am all ready Mr. Harlow"

"Great sweetheart before we leave I have a small set of rules for you"

" Okay"

" You will have a curfew of 11p.m. unless it is a PBR approved event. There will be no binge drinking and absolutely no drinking and driving only drinking at PBR approved events. There are no boys allowed in your room after curfew.My wife and I will have a spare key to your room. If you are kicked from the competition or disqualified you will find your own way back home. If you break our rules you will find your own way back home. We will have designated stops if you need an extra you can call us. If you need a stop for your horse you will call us. are these rules simple enough to follow?"

" Yes sir"

" Good now Aleda will be riding with you for the first leg of the tour."

" Aleda Jackson?"

" Yes"

" Um sir she..."

" Is my fiance problem with her Princess?"

I glare at him " No no problem at all"

"Good"

" Alright we need to be in Austin tonight first competition is tomorrow"

We load up and I turn my music on as she jumps in my truck.

We finally make it to Austin and I think my mind is fried I kept trying to turn my .music up to drowned her out but she talked louder. I'm not sure of she even took a breath the entire 9 hours from Lubbock.

We get to the fair grounds and I gladly bail from my truck unloading Maleficent.

" She's a real beauty"

I nod " Thank you Mrs. Harlow"

" The answer is no"

" What answer?"

" The girl never shuts up"

I laugh " Wasn't going to ask but it was a thought"

She walks with me as I get Maleficent ready.

" You riding her now?"

I nod " I like to run the track the night before everyone runs it the morning up but it doesn't give my house enough time to relax before we do the competition."

" Oh I didn't know that well I will tell Henry so we can schedule that in"

" Thank you"

She nods

" I will have the boys go check us in and stay with you while you run"

"Okay"

She walks off and I get my baby ready for our first run of the season " Alright Mal this is your last year what do you say we go out with a bang?"

She neighs in agreement and I smile climbing on.

The first three competitions where easy wins for Mal and I. We head to Santafe today

I do my run and get a 9.3 out of 10 it isn't bad I go grab some nachos and drinks for the Harlow's and I walking behind the bleachers. I hear the annoying high pitch laugh and look over " Cody stop it"

I scoff " Oh my gosh um Tierney I..."

" I don't care... not involved here"

She sighs and I walk off going to the stands I hand him his nachos and we watch the bull riding Eddrin takes a nasty side swipe when he dismounts making me cringe a bit.

He walks to the stands holding his side " Well at least it was top five" His dad smiles

" That f.ucking hurt"

" Well hunny go get checked out"

" I'm not a pus mom I will be fine"

I sigh " I um I have some bruise cream and wrap in my trailer if you want I can fix you up?"

" Um yeah that sounds nice actually"

I nod getting up and we head to my trailer I turn getting the stuff " Take your shirt off"

" Yeah"

I turn around and I am met with the washboard abs of Eddrin Harlow and I gulp. He turns around and I start rubbing the cream on his back my fingers trailing the scar. " Two bars and 42 stitches"

I realize what I am doing and pull away wrapping him up trying not to touch him as much. " There all done"

He turns and our proximity is so close I can feel him breathing heat starts pooling between my legs " Thank you"

I clear my throat " Um yeah no problem we should go announcements are soon"

He nods walking off and I take a deep breath putting my stuff away. What the hell just happened?
