Chapter Ten

A month later, we are moving into the new house, “You guys can place the couch right here in front of the fireplace.” Jack shook his head, “Ok, Baby Girl. But you have to move out of the way. This thing weighs a ton.” Rick laughed, “Come on man, you need to get back into the gym. This thing weighs nothing.” I laughed as I backed up as they placed down the couch. Jack popped onto the couch as I walked around it, “Oh, no you don't get out of this, minster.” I c****d my head at him, “Unless you want to miss out on our favorite movie tonight.”

Abby came into the house with a couple of boxes, “He is not going to ruin our Titanic Night! “I shook my head, “Hell no. He will be sent to his room without a movie or dessert.” He laughed as he grabbed the loop of my jeans, so I fell on top of him, “Please don't punish me like that and no dessert either.” Rick laughed as he bought in more of the boxes making a whipping noise. Jack snarled at him, “Shut up. You are supposed to have my back.” I laughed then started to feel my lunch is about to come up, “Hold that thought or grab another box,”

I got up and ran to the bathroom as I heard a knock on the door then Abby, “Baby Girl, You okay in there?” I nodded my head as I released, “Yup.” She signed, “Can I come in?” I let out a groan as I started to release again, “Yeah.” Abby came into the bathroom as she leaned down next to me, “I got something for you.” She held up a pregnancy test to me when I lifted my head, “I don’t think so.” She smiled, “Are you sure? Before Jack, you didn't do it.”

She rolled her eyes, “I felt that you were trying to become a nun until you met him.” She sighed, “I know you were not on birth control. You would have told me.” I tilted my head, “You may have a point.” She wiggled the box in front of me, “And what you have told me that your love sessions can get pretty heated.” She tilted her head back and forth, “Maybe the condom was forgotten more than once.” My eyes widened, “s**t!”

I heard Jack from the other side of the door, “Baby Girl, Are you okay?” I grabbed the test and ripped it open as Abby laughed as I whipped down my pants to pee on the stick, “Yeah, I am fine, Babe, Give us a minute.”  He chuckled, “Are you sure you don’t need me in there?” Both Abby and I looked at the door as I lifted my pants up and placed the test on the counter as we both yelled, “No!” He laughed, “Sound like I was voted to stay out of it then, I am going to go help Rick with the boxes.”

Abby held my hand as we watched the pregnancy test go from one line to two as I looked at Abby, “Two lines. What does that mean?” She opened the directions, “Hold on, let me look.” After reading it quickly she placed them down and smiled as I tilted my head, “What? Tell me.” She chuckled, “You are.” I shook my head, “No, Not say it.” She made a little squeak as if she were a little kid on Christmas Morning, “Pregnant!”

She leaned back on the counter, “You have to tell Jack.” I rolled my eyes, “Course I do.” She smiled, “When?” I looked up at the ceiling, “I am thinking during the movie.” She jumped up and down, “Oh My God. That is perfect.” I winked at her, “I know.” She placed her hand on my arm, “How do you feel?” I smiled at her, “It is a dream that I don't want to wake up from.” She smiled,” Good thing you have sorn off alcohol for the past month.” I shrugged my shoulders, “Half the time my stomach was flipping out, so I didn’t want to take a chance.” Abby handed me a paper towel that way I could wrap up the test and place it in the draw with all the female products in it.

Several hours later after unpacking a lot of the boxes and getting set up to make the house feel like home. We got our plates of pizza and headed into the living room. Jack took the side closer to the bathroom just in case I need to run to it. I sat next to him as Abby sat in between me and Rick. The whole couch inclined when Jack handed me a blanket then handed one to Rick and Abby. He sat down and got comfortable next to me as he pressed play to start the movie.

We were halfway through the movie when I felt the pizza creeping up. I hit Jack to pause the movie when I ran to the bathroom. When I was finished, I remember the pregnancy test. I grabbed it out of the draw and walked back into the room. I looked at Abby after I sat down to give her a nod as Jack pressed play. He placed the blanket back over me and placed his arm around my shoulders as he pulled me into him. I laid my head on his shoulders. He gave me a kiss on the side of the head as I placed the test that was wrapped in the paper towel into his hand.

He raised his eyebrow to me as he whispered, “What is this?” I looked up at him, “Open it.” He removed his arm from my shoulders to unwrap the test. He leaned forward holding the test as his mouth dropped, “Pause the movie.” I chuckled, “You got the remote.” He looked over. “Right.”  He snatched the remote to pause the movie as both Rick and Abby groaned in protest. Abby leaned back, “Jack that was the best part. Jack was about to get some from his Rose.” Rick threw up his hands, “Seriously, man.” Jack threw up his hand to tell everyone to stop talking, “Wait a minute.”

He turned towards me, “Is this a ...” I smiled at him, “It is.” He stared at me then my stomach, “This means...” I nodded my head, “It does.” He sat back, “We are...” I chuckled, “Yes.” He jumped off the couch, “Rick.” Rick pointed his hands to the television, “Dude, The movie.” Jack shook his head, “You remember what you whispered to me at the club?” Rick looked at Jack puzzled, “Which time?” Jack sighed, “The night that I got offered the club.” Rick nodded, “Y.e.s. Why?” Jack smiled, “Because she...” Rick leaned forward to look at Jack as Abby giggled. “She is pregnant.” He looked at Abby, “You knew?” She smiled, “I was in the bathroom when she took the test.” Jack paced the floor, “I am going to be a daddy.” He ran up to me and pulled me up to him as his lips pressed against mine. I smiled, “Yes, you are.”

Once he settled down Abby and I snuggled up against the men that we loved. Jack pressed play as he looked down at me, “Monica?” I looked up at him, “Yay?” He smiled, “You are my Rose.” I pushed into him and gave him a kiss. Abby looked at me as she tilted her head. I knew she was trying to figure out what that meant. Jack has been able to convince her that it was his ex-girlfriend that broke into my house in a jealous rage. He knew once she found out the truth that she would have a dozen questions that I wasn’t ready to answer to anyone just yet.

The next day, Jack and I made a doctor appointment to confirm the test that I took the day before, “Baby Girl, You almost ready? I nodded, “Yup, I would be done in a second.” I walked down the stairs after getting ready as Jack waited at the stairs, “Hot Momma.” He wrapped his arms around me once I stepped off the stairs, “Jack.” He smiled, “It is the truth. You are glowing.” He placed his lips against my forehead as I looked at him, “Are you sure we are ready for this. We haven’t been together too long.”  He smiled, “But it feels like we've been together for a lifetime.” I laughed, “Yes it has. But are we ready for a baby?” He held me tighter, “You are going to be a great mom. You are caring and have a heart of gold.” He looked down at me and gave me a small kiss on my lips.

He walked me out of the house as we walked to our new SUV that he showed up at his sister’s house two weeks ago. He needed to get an upgrade from his car and where the club was doing so well. He decided to make his first big purchase. As he drove, he used the car’s system to make a call to the restaurant to make reservations for tonight for the family to make the announcement of the pregnancy. I looked up at him, “So, where are we going?” He smiled, “Breakfast.” I rolled my eyes, “Where?” He chuckled, “It is a surprise.” I sat back, “Come on. Where?” He laughed, “You have to wait to find out.”

I crossed my arms as I pouted as he laughed when I realized where. I moaned, “Floppy Pancake House.” He smirked as he knew that had become our special place to eat since I stayed with him for the weekend when we met. Jack reached over and rubbed the small of my belly, “Hungry.” I smiled at him, “Starving, I actually feel like I am eating for two.” He laughed, “Hey maybe we get lucky with twins.” I rolled my eyes at him, “Don’t joke like that.” He shrugged his shoulders, “What?” I shook my head, “Knowing our luck. That would actually happen.” He smiled, “Well in that cause, I hope it will be a boy and a girl. The boy can be Jack Jr. and the girl can be... “I smiled at him as he held my hand, “Rose.” he pulled into the parking lot then smiled as he pulled my hand to his mouth to place his lips on the back of my hand.

We went into the restaurant when I spotted Abby and Rick. I smiled as I walked up to them, “Didn’t the two of you just left my house like two hours ago.” She laughed as she hugged me, “We just love the two of you that we can’t seem to get away from you two.” Rick chuckled, “Monica maybe but the jury is still out on Jack.” Abby smacked Rick in the chest as Jack roared in a laugh, “Jury been out on me for fifteen years so what is a couple more years.”

We all sat and ate breakfast as we talked. I would never think a positive pregnancy test would make me hungry. Once we were done, we got up from the table as Jack and I took care of the bill then walked out with Abby and Rick. We walked towards our cars and Rick looked at us, “Mario’s for dinner at eight?” Jack nodded, “Yup, Reservations are made. You two, Melissa with baby Michael, Leo and my parents will be there.”

I stopped in my tracks, “Your parents?” Jack raised his eyebrow at me, “Yes. I said I made reservations for the family.” I shook my head, “I know.” He smiled, “That includes my mom and dad.” Abby winked at me, “Monica. They will love you. So, don’t worry.” I nodded to her as I got into the car to head to the doctor office. My head had to go wild with thoughts of his parents hating me for going into their son’s life and getting pregnant pretty much on the same night we met. They will need to know sooner or later as well as I will need to meet them.

Jack cleared his throat, “Penny for your thoughts?” I looked down, “What if your parents don’t like me?” He reached out his hand and pulled up to his lips as he softly kissed the back of my hand. “They are going to love you.” I shook my head, “How do you know that for sure?” He looked over at me and smiled, “Baby girl. I love you. Which means they will love you.” I smiled as my heart flipped from him admitting that he loves me for the first time, “I love you, too” He smiled as he placed my hand back to his lips.
