We were in the doctor's office in one of the examining rooms as Jack paced the floor. I shook my head, “Earth to Jack.” He looked up at me, “Huh? Oh Yes, Baby Girl?” I held out my hands, “Come here.” He walked over taking my hands as I sat on the table. He slid his hands to my hip as he stood there. I could see the wheels turning that he was starting to freak out, “Relax.” I sighed, “Doctor is taking too long.” I shook my head as I leaned towards him, “It only has been about two minutes since I took the test.” His eyes started to search my face, “That is two minutes too long.” I laughed as I brushed my lips against his, I can’t wait to see how you will be when I go into labor.”   He threw his head back, “Oh God. The labor.” I cupped his face, “Jack, Stop thinking. You are psyching yourself out.” I took a deep breath, “Let’s take this minute by minute. We have nine months to worry about labor.” He leaned into me and gave me a kiss as there was a knock on the door. A doctor walked into the room, “Ms. Winters and Mr. Jackson. I am Doctor Thomas.” Jack turned to him, being impatient as he blurred out, “Give to me straight Doc. Am I a dad or not?” The doctor laughed, “Eager one.” Jack narrowed his eyes as the doctor smiled, “I can confirm that the test Ms. Winters took yesterday was correct.” The doctor placed his hand on Jack’s shoulder, “You are going to be a dad.”   Jack hugged the doctor which threw the doctor off guard. He turned to me as he smiled and pulled me into him. His hand cupped my face as he pulled it down as he gave me a passionate kiss. The doctor chuckled, “Congratulations to the both of you. Ms. Winters, I will need you to set up your next appointment for four weeks.” He handed me pieces of papers, “Here are a couple of prescriptions for you.” The doctor shook our hands before leaving. Jack looked at me and smiled, “Get dress, I have to stop at the club after we can get ready for dinner.”   Jack and I sat in his office as I looked around feeling proud of him. Jack had a big party booked for tonight in which he wanted to make sure that everything was set before going to dinner with the family. He had brought tons of revenue into the business since he took over. I looked down at my laptop as I was plugging away at my work. The new line was just released a few weeks ago and was doing well. After looking at the reports I moved on to the Wish List with Winter’s Beauties as Jack looked at me with curiosity. I looked up at him, “Yes? My love?” He tilted his head, “What are you working on?” I smiled at him, “The Wish List.”   He smirked, “Care to read one?” I looked down at the emails, “Are you sure? Some of these can be pretty tough to hear.” He placed his hand on my legs, “Read one. I can help you pick out a candidate. I was thinking we can have the fundraiser ball here at the club. I want to help.” He made me tear up that he wanted to help. I took a deep breath and released, “That is a great idea. The club is big enough for it, full stock and full kitchen.” I leaned towards him, “If the letter is too much for you. Stop me from reading it.” He nodded and sat back in this chair as I found a letter and I started to read out loud:   “Dear Ms. Winters and team, My name is Carol. I want to thank you for all that you do for the shelters. It is nice to see big shot businesswomen like you that take time out of their lives to help those in need. Here is my story.”   I took a deep breath before I continued.   “Since the age of fourteen until I ran, I have been r***d and abused by my mother’s boyfriend. I am now seventeen. I found out last week that I am pregnant. I tried to tell my mother, but she said that I was crying wolf. He would sneak into my room after my mother would pass out from drinking. He threatened me if I told anyone. He said I would regret it. I can’t believe that I just told you all that.”   I looked up at Jack as he was tearing up as he leaned forward to touch my leg:   “Thank you for allowing me to release this. For my wish list is I want a family for my baby. I don’t want to do an abortion where this is a life, and it is not the baby’s fault. I just can’t give the child what he or she needs. I want a safe home and people that will give him or her lots of love. Please help us find his or her family. Thank you Carol”   I looked at Jack as he was wiping the tears from his tears as he looked at me, “That is the one, Baby Girl.” I nodded my head, “Definitely.” I sniffed, “I will start calling adoption agencies tomorrow.” Jack took my laptop from my lap then took my hands while having me stand on my feet as he pulled into him, “You are amazing.” I smiled, “I am” He laughed as he gave me a passionate soft kiss.   Jack and I reached the restaurant after we went home for some passionate love making and to freshen up. We were guided through to the back of the restaurant where our friends and family sat at a big table. Abby got up from the table as she wrapped her arms around me, “Monica.” She released me as Jack held the small of my back, “I am glad to see you too, Abby.” She smiled as two older couples approached us.   Jack walked over to them and gave them a hug and introduced me to them, “Monica, I want you to meet my mom and dad, Edward and Melinda Jackson.” He smiled at them, “Mom... Dad... I want you to meet the love of my life, Monica Winters.” I smiled and held out my hand to them, “Nice to meet you both.” Melinda took my hand and pulled me into her, “Oh Dear, Give us a hug.”  Edward rubbed her back, “Come on dear. Let’s not scare off the lady already.” He smiled at me then placed a hand on my shoulder as his wife was squeezing me. Jack placed his hand back on my back, “Ok mom, Let’s not squeeze the life out of her.”   She let me go and everyone sat around the table as everyone ordered their drinks. A few moments after everyone has their drinks as Jack taps his glass to get everyone’s attention, “Thank you everyone for coming here. No matter how much I love catching up with everyone.” He smiled at me, “We are not here just to eat, drink and admire everyone's faces.” The table laughed as Jack continued, “I have a couple of announcements to make.” I lifted up my eyebrow in curiosity as I felt that he was planning something.   He cleared his throat, “You all know that Monica and I have only known each other for a short time. It feels like we have known each other for many lifetimes.” He reached down to pull me up to him, “We have learned quickly to respect each other's boundaries while making each other step out of those boundaries. We want you all to know.” He looked at me and smiled as he whispered, “You want to tell them?” I nodded as I cleared my throat, “We are pregnant!”   The whole table cheered. I went to reach back to find Jack’s hand to enjoy this moment together, not find it there. I slowly turned around and looked down as Jack cleared his throat. He was on one knee with a box in his hand and his other hand reached for mine. I tilted my head, “Jack, what are you doing?” He smirked at me as he took my hand, “This is something that I've been waiting to do since the moment I saw you.” I shook my head as the table hushed around us, “I have never met anyone like you. You are sweet, smart and so caring. You think of others before yourself. You are about to become the mother of my child. I know this is the right step. We are made for each other.” He kissed the back of my hand, “Monica Winters, I love you. Please tell me you will make me the happiest and luckiest man in the world.”   He looked into my eyes, “Marry me.” I stepped towards him speechless as he looked down then looked back at me, “Please, Monica. Be my one and only. Be my Rose to your Jack.” I smiled as I started to tear up, “Jack. You big fool.” He looked down as I leaned down to cup his face, “Yes, I will marry you.” Again, the table cheered in excitement as Jack placed the ring on my finger and wrapped me into him. He gave me a kiss then leaned over to the table as he picked up glass, “Now, Let’s drink, let’s eat and let’s enjoy this moment of today. We have a lot to celebrate.” Everyone lifted their glass and took a sip of their drinks. Jack placed his glass back down as he pulled me in as he lifted his hand to my face and placed his lips on my lips in a passionate kiss. He left me breathless once he released.   Jack and I were at the doctor’s office for my three-month checkup. The doctor was trying to get the heartbeat as he looked up at us, “Hmmm,” I could see Jack started to panic and I was too as Jack looked at the doctor, “Doc, I don’t like that sound of that hmmm.” The doctor looked up at him while smiling, “How do you two feel about twins?” I threw my head back on the table as I pointed at Jack, “You jinxed us.”   Jack stood there confused trying to figure out what the doctor just told him. His eyebrows lifted as a light bulb went off. He said as he had the biggest grin on his face, “Twins, we are having Twins.” The doctor nodded his head, “Sounds like it. We will have to set up an ultrasound to confirm and make sure they are both healthy.” Jack nodded at the doctor, “When should we make it for?” The doctor looked at his tablet, “I will get one setup for today. Just head down the hallway and I will get the order ready. It shouldn’t take too long.” The doctor left the room, then I got dressed to head to the ultrasound.   We walked down the hallway and Jack smiled the whole way down, “I've been thinking.” I looked at him as I tilted my head as he smiled, “Now we are looking at having twins. We will have our hands full after they are born.” I nodded my head as he held up his hand, “Will not be able to plan a wedding with two newborns.” I stopped walking as he got close to the door, “Okay?” He placed his hand on the door to open, “Baby Girl. I don’t want to wait any longer than we have to. I want to marry before these two come into our lives.” He turned and placed his hand on my stomach, “I was also thinking if we can’t find a family that is right for Carol’s baby that maybe we could adopt him.” I opened my mouth as he pulled me over to the side, “We have so much love to give that just feels right. We have spent so much with her trying to help her. We still haven’t found that right family.” I placed my hand on his chest, “I was thinking the same thing. I was going to talk about it with you tonight.” He lifted his eyebrow, “Which part? Getting married before the twins are born or the adoption?” I laughed as I walked back to the door as he opened it for us to enter the office.    After checking in I sat next to him and took his hand into mine then sat back, “Both.” He grinned even bigger than before. I never knew that it could get bigger, but Jack just proved me wrong, “Are you sure?” I don’t want to overwhelm you.” I nodded, “I am sure. Carol has told us numerous times that she wishes we would adopt her son when he is born. I have been thinking about it for the past couple days and I feel that we are the right fit for him.” He took my hand to his lips as he kissed the back of my hand, “God. I love you.” He looked into my eyes, “When do you want to get married?”   I was called back into the room as Jack followed me and the nurse. He sat in a chair as I got changed in the bathroom. I came out and laid on the table, “We need at least a couple months to get everything together for the wedding and all the babies coming into our lives. I was thinking about May or June.” He looked at me as I finished talking, “We can have our adopted son with us when we get married. I want Carol there too. I would like part of our lives if she chooses too.” He got up out of the chair as he grabbed the blanket and placed over me.   He leaned and kissed my forehead, “I think that would be perfect.” I smiled at him, “I call the adoption agency and see if we can fast track it. And we will need to find a nanny.” He lifted his eyebrow, “Nanny?” I laughed, “We are two working parents with businesses to run. We have the in-laws on the property so she can have her privacy and we can have ours when she is not helping us out.” He smiled, “Are you sure?” I nodded, “We are busy. For a week, a month we will give her off, so we have our family time. We will make sure that we raise our children but with just little help.” He agreed as the technician entered the room.   She had me lay back and took the wand to scan over my stomach. The jelly was warm when she placed the wand to find two little heartbeats. Jack watched the monitor to try to make out what he was looking at. Once she was done, she wiped the jelly off then made copies of the ultrasound for us to have, “Okay, everything looks good. I saw two little ones. If the doctor notices anything else, he will call you. But for now, Make an appointment for two weeks. Congrats.” I nodded and looked at Jack as his lips stretched up, reaching his eyes, “When do we find out boys or girls? She smiled, “In a couple more weeks.” Jack rolled his eyes, “But I want to know now!” I narrowed my eyes at Jack, “Don’t mind him. I think he will be the biggest kid out of them. He will be my biggest kid.”   The technician laughed as she left the room to allow me to get dressed. I walked into the bathroom as Jack snarled, “And what is that supposed to mean, Baby Girl.” I laughed before closing the door, “My love, you are impatient, love to play, find things to be mused you that a child would find musing and whine when you don’t get your way.” He started to whine when I stopped him, “See. My biggest child.” He laughed as I got dressed.   Once we left the doctor’s, Jack dropped me off to my office. I sat at my desk to call the case manager at the adoption agency. “Jess Miller speaking.” I smiled, “Jess. It is Monica Winters.” I heard the excitement from her voice, “Monica. How can I help you this fine afternoon?” I tilted my head as I looked at a picture of me and Jack, “Well Jack and I have been talking.” She paused, “Okay?” I sat up straight in my chair, “The candidates that we have for Carol are really not up to the standards that she or we would like.” She sighed, “I agree. Which makes this so hard to understand. We never had this much trouble for an adoption placement with a newborn.”   I nodded my head, “Jack and I was wondering, what would be the process if we decided to adopt Carol’s baby.” She paused as I could hear a smile come across her face, “You and Jack are serious?” I smiled, “Jess, we have never been more serious.” I could hear her typing away at her computer, “This is too perfect. I will send you over an application for the both of you. Get you two into the system. There will be a background check. As soon as that comes back, we can move forward.” She paused, “Do you want me to call Carol or me.” I shook my head, “No I think it would be appropriate that we wait until we have everything ready to go. I don’t want to get her hopes up then it falls through.” She took a deep breath, “I agree. Send everything back by the end of the day. I will push everything through. We should have an approval in two weeks where I am fast tracking everything.” We spoke details of the adoption so she could get everything ready for when we get the approval and book appointments to meet with Carol.   As soon as I was off of the phone with Jess, I text Jack, “My love, Spoke to Jess. She is sending you an application. It needs to be done by the end of the day. She fast-tracks everything.” I smiled as I rubbed my belly that is starting to really show as I got a text from Jack, “Got it five minutes ago. Mine is already sent back to her. Can’t wait to have our family complete.” I laughed at the fact that I was surprised about him getting done so quickly. I text him back, “Why doesn’t this surprise me? Let me guess. You've been watching your email since you got there.”  I could imagine him laughing as he texted back, “Baby Girl, you know me, too well.” I smiled, “You are my heart you know?” He quickly replied, and you are mine. Now go and fill out yours so we get our baby boy. Love you.” I replied to him one more time before I filled out what I needed to, “Will do, Love you two.”
