Ihuoma was the ruler of the water spirits and she had this idea of sending some of her female water spirits into the world to bring in human men into the ocean for sacrifice. This idea was rejected by almost all the water spirits except one who stood up and approached Ihuoma. Her name was Mmiri and she was the most beautiful in the gathering of the water spirits. She was well built and had a very familiar look. She said to Ihuoma. '"I would like to go to the land of the living and bring you a male whom you will use as sacrifice. I am willing to do this for you for I see you and regard you so highly Queen of the coast" After she had said this she bowed before Ihuoma and Ihuoma was so pleased with her loyalty and devotion to serve her.
