Ancient Prophetess Chapter 24

285 Words
At a time when the villagers of Vimi thought that their gods had given them redemption and time to start planning on how to what they demanded from them but then on that very night after their meeting with their king deaths struck and hundreds of people died. The king of Vimi invited the speaker of the gods to his palace at once and was angrily speaking to him. The king was restless as he thundered and embarrassed the speaker of the gods in front of his subjects. He made him to understand that he was no longer happy and comfortable having him as the speaker for the gods of Vimi and threatened to dismiss him as the speaker if he did not find the solution to their problem and the right sacrifice to offer to the gods to appease them once and for all. The speaker for the gods could not utter a word as he stood and remained calm. The king after raining insults on him sat dejectedly and began to apologize to him. "But then it is not my fault that I am this angry and disrespectful but you should understand my pains. People are dying and there is nothing I can do about it" After the king had finished speaking the chief priest sighed and made him understand that if he had paused for a while to listen to him maybe he would have heard him say to him that the gods had spoken and that they had said that the solution to the problem of the Vim people was for the king to kill himself. The king was shocked to the brim as his mouth fell open in total shock.
