CHAPTER THREE
Four years ago …
Awappo waved his front paws. All of a sudden, black lightning bolts lanced out of the air around him and flew toward Simon and me. I summoned a red Mana shield at the last second, however, which deflected the black lightning bolts and sent them flying in every direction. Lowering the shield, I fired a blast of pure Mana at Awappo, but the demon simply waved its paws and my Mana blast dissipated halfway in the air.
“You’ll have to be faster than that, Chosen One,” said Awappo. “Much faster.”
