Troubles Ahead
Rebecca
I wake up with a pounding headache, man oh man I shouldn't have stayed up all night stressing over what I'm going to do.. Landlord gave me an eviction notice one week ago and I'm beyond terrified. I have no idea of what I'm going to do. I dropped out of College to take care of my Mother who had cancer and unfortunately passed away a year ago. Oh man how I miss her. To clarify she was my adopted Mother the only woman who ever truly loved and cared about me. Fortunately I was able to graduate High School because of my Mom pushing me to finish even though I wanted to drop out and take care of everything. Sadly I am having a hard time finding a decent job since I'm a college dropout. "Okay Rebecca move on you can do this" I say to myself. I make myself get out of bed, take a shower, and got dressed. "Whew at least one thing accomplished" I mumble to myself. I grab the newspaper and look through the job ads and see a restaurant is desperately hiring for a waitress. I've never done waitressing before but how hard can it be? I grab my keys and head out the door. Thank goodness the restaurant is not too far from my apartment. I reach the place and see it is beyond crowded but I still go in. As I walk in, people are rowdy demanding orders and servers are running everywhere. A man at the register looks up at me and says "How can I help you?" "Well Sir I am here to apply for a job." The man immediately starts laughing and says "Alright you think you can help right now, help us get through rush hour and you got the job." "Okay I'll give it my best shot." The man grins at me and and holds out his hand and says "I'm Richard by the way, I'm the owner." "Nice to meet you Richard I'm Rebecca I'll get started right away." "Candy!" Richard calls out. A young girl comes running out and says "yes?" "Candy, this is Rebecca show her the ropes during rush hour and I just might hire her." He says winking at me. "Okay let's go." Candy says as she grabs my hand and leads me away. "Okay I'll show you what you need to do but pay attention and we'll get along just fine." I nod at Candy fully understanding what she means. Candy and I work side by side placing orders, serving drinks and food, and making friends. Finally rush hour has finally ended and I can take a breath. "You're doing a great job." Candy says to me. "Thanks, I reply, "I have a great teacher." "Why don't you go on break Rebecca and start counting your tips, maybe even order you something for lunch." "Great idea thanks Candy." Whew! man I'm worn out I plop down in a booth take off my apron and I'm about to start counting my tips when I hear the door open. I look up and see four men coming in not paying much attention. But the last man took my breath away, I audibly gasped. The man stood at about 6'4 and has gorgeous brown hair and blue eyes. As I'm sitting there gawking, the men seat themselves and Candy runs over and starts to take their order. As she's doing this I'm still staring at the handsome stranger and I think he felt me staring at him because he looked up at me. "My gosh what beautiful eyes." I thought to myself. I immediately look away but not before seeing a smirk on the strangers face. "Okay Rebecca you don't need to get involved with this man, besides he looks like trouble." I say inwardly. "Okay, one more look." I say to myself. I look back up and find the man staring at me like he never stopped looking at me. It's something about those eyes......
