Son, come to the prison now!
Sebastian sighed and leaned his head back against the headboard of his bed. It was so early and already his father was calling him out. It was painful learning to be an Alpha, the training and the paper work that was needed. Sometimes, Sebastian wondered if he should even bother being an Alpha, it was too time consuming. Sebastian wanted a chance to rest and relax, hang out with his friends and to look for his mate. He was sixteen and soon to turn seventeen. He had hoped he would have found her sooner, but it was clear the Moon Goddess was making him wait. Why, he did not know and he did not like it.
Once he turned eighteen, Sebastian would be of reaosnable age to be handed the Alpha position. While it was a locked transition, not commonly changed, he still had to prove himself first, to prove to the Redmoon Pack that he was going to be an Alpha who would look after them and do everything he could to keep their lively hood at a high. This once eighteen, his father would train him further, teach him all there is and when the right time came he would step up. It had been expected the moment he was born and so he had no choice, not like his siblings. Sebastian had a younger twin siblings, a brother and sister. They were laid back and easy going compared to him. They had no worries and could do as they wanted. Sebastian on the other hand was still young and yet, he had to face so much more then an other members of their pack.
Now Sebastian
Not having any choice, he could no longer ignore the request of his father in their mind link. After all, his father, Gabriel was the current Alpha, as his father was before him. It always ran in their family and the Luna was always expected to keep having children until she produced a son, so he could be moulded into the perfect Alpha to take over. Sebastian knew his mother got lucky, she had a boy first and on their second pregnancy, she had twins. Three children, that was a good amount for an Alpha, and having a second son meant if anything happened to the first, then they can step up. His grandmother on the other hand had six girls before she finally had Gabriel, so by that time, she was very warn down and Gabriel was managed mostly by his father. He was a tough man to get through to, strong minded, picky with things and he did not trust very easily.
Pulling a shirt on over his head Sebastian knew if his father was calling him to meet at the prison, then there must have been something that had happened. It was early in the morning, barely hitting five and while Sebastian had been up, he was still trying to rest and relax from the training the night before. So early in the morning, Sebastian could only assume that somebody had breached the boarders.
Running from the pack house to the prison it took him half an hour. Normally, the travel for a normal werewolf would take longer, but Sebastian was graced with speed and so he was faster than the normal average. As he reached the prison, Sebastian saw his father Gabriel waiting. They exchanged nods, and then in silence, they walked through the doors, the guards letting them in obviously, and then Sebastian let his father lead the way.
The prison was large, there were two levels and over two hundred cells. The top level allowed the cells to have windows, set for those wolves who did small crimes and needed small punishments. They did not head down the hallway to the first level and Sebastian knew they were headed down the stairs to the underground level. There was a big heavy door waiting for them and with a coded knock, the person on the other side opened the door for them to go through. This was another guard, he was large and heavy, a set of keys around his neck and he did not look like a werewolf that you would want to mess with. Even if Sebastian knew he had three little girls, a new born son and a wife at home that he adored, he knew that this man, Harvy, was not a man to be on the bad side with. He took his job seriously and in war, he was one of the top warriors.
As he let them pass, Sebastian followed his father along the dark halls. This level, being underground was more high security. Guards near the main door, guards up the far end, Guards in the middle. Each cell had a heavy metal door on it with a small peek hold to look in. There were no windows in the cells and the only time the lights came on, were when they would go in and interrogate whom ever was in the room. Sebastian figured whom ever was down here this early, who had not already been down, must have done something serious to deserve this punishment. Werewolves have been known to go crazy down here, half never came out alive.
Looking around Sebastian saw the packs Beta Luke and the Delta Danial waiting outside a door. With them were three tall young teens. They were Maximus, Nathanial and Kinley. These three were Sebastian’s three best friends and they too were trained just as he was, to be strong members of their pack. That was why all of them where here, it was clear that what ever was going to be happening, they had to observe and learn from.
“Are they sedated?” Alpha Gabriel asked.
“Yes Alpha, we are ready.” Beta Luke said firmly with a nod.
Delta Danial gave a nod as well and put a hand to the leaver of the heavy door, he pulled it down and then across and with his strength slid the cell door open. The moment the door opened a smell hit their noses. Each took it in a different way. Sebastian felt the smell was strange and taking a sniff he picked up different smells, some twisted his nose in an unpleasant way, while others intrigued him. There was a smell of fresh river water and snow, calm and refreshing. Yet, there was the smell of dirt, sweat, blood…. And vampire! That made no sense and by the looks on the eyes of his friends, he sense that they two could smell that last part.
They were the last to walk into the room, as a light came on, filling what moments before had been a dark room. There was a figure standing in the room, in the middle, but not by choice. Their hands were cuffed and bound together and a chain held them up into the air, making it impossible for them not to stand. Sebastian gasped however, as he paid more attention to the person, he glanced at his friends and then at his father.
“She is a child….” He said confused why she was so guarded.
“Can you smell her?” his father replied coldly.
“Vampire…. Yes…” Sebastian nodded.
“Never trust ANYONE with vampire smell.” He stated.
“Never judge a person for what you do not know.” A tiny sweet voice spoke.
The room was silent, Kinley let out a horrified gasp. Nobody ever spoke back at an Alpha like that. It was clear that Delta Danial did not like the words of the girl and stepped forwards slapping her hard across the face. Sebastian watched wide eyed, somewhat saddened for the girl. He had expected a cry from that hit, but she did not react, just lifted her head and actually looked at them with no fear.
Who WAS she? He had not seen her before… sniffing again, he could tell she was not even a part of this pack… A werewolf yes, but she smelt like Vampires. Why was she here? On their lands? He knew, with those thoughts in his head, that was the reason why she was here like this, because his father and the pack did not trust any new comers and because of the way she looked and smelt, there was good reason.
Her long hair that reached down to her buttock was messy and covered in dirt and other ground products from a forest. Her clothing was torn, and she had blood dried up on her left arm and face. One of the legs of her pants were torn as well, and he was sure there was blood there too. Sebastian glanced at her face more. She was young, maybe younger then him. She looked innocent, like a flower, her hazel eyes holding no emotion, but made one feel like she was looking right into your soul. Sebastian felt a strange feeling. No… it was not right. He knew the feeling when finding a mate, and that was not it. Yet, he could not help but to feel drawn to her. Not to mention how she was hanging there, her eyes on him too, watching him, like out of all of them there, she had chosen him. He shook his head and had to refocus.
“Who are you?” Alpha Gabriel asked in his commanding tone.
“Adira.” She answered without hassle.
“How old are you?” he questioned.
“I am told almost sixteen.” She responded.
“Told?” Delta Danial asked with a hiss.
“By magic.” Adira stated like it was nothing important.
“You know magic?” Beta Luke asked shocked.
“I have been around it.” She said sounding truthful.
“You smell like Vampire.” Nathanial spoke up angry, clearly not liking her.
“Bit hard not to.” She replied like he was stupid.
Delta Danial gave her another slap. It echoed through the cell. Yet again, she did not react, just set her eyes upon him.
“You speak to us with respect. In case you have not noticed, you are a prisoner here.” he stated.
“I am well aware of that Sir.” She replied. “But I am here answering your questions as you’ve wanted. I know how this works. So, if you do not mind, please keep those paws off my face or I will not cooperate.”
There was a bit of a growl before Nathanial raised his own hand and made a move past Delta Danial to slap the girl again. Sebastian could not let his friend do something, not when in truth, the girl was right, and he had tried very hard to retrain a smirk himself at her words. She was not afraid of them, that was clear and he liked that. Though, that could also be a bad thing and so he knew they needed to be careful. Sebastian had stepped forwards and grabbed Nathanial’s wrist, just inches from the girls face. They looked at each other and within second, Nathanial relaxed his hand and with a bow of the head, stepped back. He had lost his temper, which he was known to do and had almost hit the girl. Sebastian was saving him the after affects of that and he knew Nathanial read this all in his eyes.
Nathanial was a good guy. He was six foot, light brown hair, blue eyes and a tanned complexion. He was good in fights, he was logical in thought, however, he was too angry and sceptical at times. Nathanial lived with Beta Luke’s family, after his own parents had been killed in a battle. He had lost everything, and so there were moments when he would act out and loose control. He had almost just done so. Yet, Sebastian knew, his friend would regret it later, so he had stopped him, to save him the regret.
With silence in the room again, it was Alpha Gabriel this time that stepped closer to the girl. He reached out, gripping her chin in between his fingers. Sebastian knew all about the grip of Alpha Gabriel, had felt it a number of times and he knew it was not a light grip. The girl Adira either had guts or she simply did not feel pain. She did not react once more, like she had not reacted to the slaps she got.
“Who are you?” he asked in a tone of authority.
“Adira.” She said, again giving a name.
“I want to know who you are, where you came from and why you smell like a Vampire underneath all the dirt and mud.” He demanded, holding her tighter.
“I am Adira… all I know is I am sixteen.” She replied strongly. “And, I smell like a Vampire because I have recently been around them, but that does not mean you can judge me on that.”
“You think you are smart kid?” he growled. “You enter MY lands. You attack MY guards….”
“THEY attacked me first.” She cut him off. “So why not should I defend myself.”
“Not good enough to land in here.” Delta Luke stated.
“Did you not hear… I am only sixteen.” She replied back.
Sebastian watched as this Adira girl received another slap, this time from his own father. Alpha Gabriel had put power behind the slap and it this time caused her head to turn. He was sure if that girl was not chained, she would have fallen from the blow. She turned back, glaring at their Alpha, which scored her another slap. She spat out blood from her mouth, but still held the same confidence as before.
“Keep her locked up. I do not trust her.” Alpha Gabriel snapped, turning and heading for the door. “I want the truth from her, and I do not care how old she is, get me the answer.”
He walked out and Sebastian knew that was the sign for he and his friends to follow. He felt torn. Sebastian felt bad for the girl. She was trapped there, so young, and he knew what the pack did to get information from intruders. She must have had a reason for coming to their lands and he himself did not believe what she said. It sounded like a made-up story to him, an easy answer to mask the truth. He did not blame his father for wanting to know the truth and trying to get it out of her. If she was here to be a threat to their pack, then she needed to go. He just felt bad, because she was still so young, would have had a whole life ahead of her to live. Sad because he knew what she was going to suffer until she told them the truth.
